Face à l’Iran, les États-Unis ont montré les limites de leur surpuissance militaire. Donald Trump avait promis une « capitulation sans conditions » du régime iranien lors de la guerre des 12 jours lancée l’année dernière. Il avait proclamé avoir détruit le programme nucléaire de Téhéran (« obliterated »). En lançant Fureur épique, le 28 février, le milliardaire s’était laissé convaincre d’en finir avec la menace iranienne. Il avait déployé « une armada » pour faire plier son adversaire, appuyée par l’armée israélienne, l’une des plus performantes du monde.

Michel Barnier has said Britain could regain its special terms if it rejoined the EU and claimed it was becoming clearer every day to the British people that they would be stronger in Europe.
In an interview before the 10th anniversary of the Brexit referendum next week, the EU’s former chief Brexit negotiator said he could not see any obstacle to the UK keeping the pound and remaining outside the passport-free Schengen travel area should the country rejoin.
The comments cast serious doubt on suggestions from some authoritative voices, including Poland’s foreign minister, that the UK could be forced to accept more difficult terms on re-entering the bloc.
They will be seen as a boost to those who are campaigning for the UK to rejoin the EU, with polling showing that support for rejoining is stronger when the old terms are on the table.

Entre faits divers meurtriers, scandale des grooming gangs, sentiment de déclassement et percée de Nigel Farage, le pays accuse ses élites d’avoir trahi le contrat national.
Belfast, Southampton, Glasgow, Londres, du nord au sud du royaume, du cœur de l’Angleterre à l’Irlande du Nord, court régulièrement une vague de colère. Donald Trump has signed a 14-point agreement with Iran, claiming it delivered a “major win” for the United States – even as it made significant political and financial concessions to Iran to reopen the strait of Hormuz and prevent a “worldwide depression”.
In extraordinary remarks on Wednesday, Donald Trump went from threatening Iran with a new wave of attacks to suggesting the country had basic rights to enrich uranium for civilian use, that he would not pressure Tehran to abandon its ballistic missiles programme and the US was “going to have to give back” billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets.
Those remarks, as well as the full text of the agreement – which was hailed by the Hezbollah chief, Naim Qassem, as a “great victory” – are likely to fuel anger in Israel and among hardliners in the Republican party who had urged Trump not to make a deal with Tehran.
Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, signed the agreement on Wednesday from Tehran. The US vice-president, JD Vance, is also expected to sign the deal at a more formal ceremony in Geneva on Friday.
Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said: “The agreement is a record of US failure. People will see it and judge.”

Moreover, and very importantly and significantly, because of his folly and extremely poor geopolitical judgment, Trump has given Iran and the Mullahs the prestige of being a new world power! LE FIGARO : PORTRAIT - Fils d’une première union de l’épouse de l’héritier du trône, l’homme de 29 ans a été reconnu coupable ce lundi de deux des quatre viols dont il était accusé et condamné à une peine de quatre ans de prison ferme.
Depuis des années, l’affaire fascine la discrète Norvège. Entre rumeurs et confidences à des tabloïds, les frasques de Marius Borg Hoiby ont nourri la chronique, les accusations folles et les démentis secs. Le 3 mars dernier et pendant sept semaines, le procès du jeune homme de 29 ans s’est tenu devant un juge d’Oslo - ainsi que plusieurs centaines de journalistes du monde entier - et il a dû répondre d’une longue liste de délits et de crimes. Trente-neuf chefs d’accusation précisément, dont quatre viols, des violences répétées sur une ex-compagne, des violences routières, du transport de drogue…
Ce catalogue, bien que sidérant, n’aurait pas reçu autant d’attention si l’accusé n’était le fils de la princesse de Norvège, Mette-Marit, épouse du prince héritier Haakon. Marius n’est certes pas le descendant du prince. Il est né d’une première liaison de sa mère, alors serveuse, avec un financier. Mais il fait partie de la famille royale où il est entré à l’âge d’un peu moins de 5 ans, quand Mette-Marit a épousé Haakon. Adolescent, il se fait remarquer pour ses frasques. Pour fuir les médias qui l’accablent, il part aux États-Unis puis au Royaume-Uni avant de retrouver la Norvège où le jeune homme blond aux cheveux gominés continue sa vie dissolue de figure de la jeunesse dorée. Tout change avec son arrestation en 2024, puis son inculpation et son procès. Les débats vont dessiner un portrait bien plus sombre que celui d’un « gosse de riche » un peu rebelle : il transparaît que le jeune homme est toxicomane, violent et, semble-t-il, méprisant. Sa dérive ne semble pas près de s’arrêter. Le verdict, lundi matin, n’a étonné personne. Plus d'un millier d'étrangers ont obtenu un visa russe en 2025, pour leur adhésion aux « valeurs traditionnelles russes », a indiqué mercredi l'agence de presse étatique Ria Novosti, une initiative visant à affirmer les idées anti-libérales russes dans le contexte du conflit ukrainien. Selon le directeur du département consulaire du ministère des Affaires étrangères, Alexeï Klimov, 1.112 visas ont été délivrés à ce titre au cours de l'année passée. Ghana's Parliament Passes Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill
BBC: The parliament in Ghana has approved a new bill criminalising homosexuality and the promotion of LGBTQ+ activities.
It proposes that identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer be punished by up to three years' imprisonment. The bill also introduces a "duty to report" prohibited acts to police.
Religious leaders have pressured President John Dramani Mahama, who still needs to ratify the legislation, to strengthen anti-gay laws since he came to power last year.
The ban has been sharply criticised by international organisations, including Human Rights Watch, which said it placed LGBTQ+ peoples' lives at risk while also "encouraging citizens to surveil and denounce one another".
Same-sex relationships have been banned in Ghana under laws dating from the British colonial era.
In an address to parliament, the bill's sponsor Reverend John Ntim Fordjour said it would protect Ghanaian family and cultural values.
He said the new bans would make existing laws "more robust, more encompassing and more stringent in dealing with the practices of LGBTQI".

When will these unenlightened, backward-thinking people ever learn that ALL of God’s children should be given their God-given right to pursue their own happiness, given the hand that God dealt them?
It is truly ignorant and benighted to imagine that the granting to gays of their rights to a life of happiness, peace, and harmony endangers family life in any way. Gays don’t want to dissolve family life; on the contrary, they merely wish to have the right to form their own families. A gay wants love and tenderness just as much as a straight person does. So why do these backward-thinking people wish to deny gays those same rights? The rights that straight people expect for themselves, and take for granted.
Being queer is not catching! Granting homosexuals rights does not detract from a heterosexual’s rights in any way whatsoever. Moreover, a straight person is not going to turn queer just because there are a few queers living amongst them in the community! People are born queer; it is not a lifestyle choice! Fact is, it was God’s choice for them to be that way in the first place. It was God’s choice if one is religious; and if one is not religious at all, then it was mother nature that made queers, queer. Either way, one cannot argue with God or Nature.
This is 2026. It is high time that you people grew up and learnt something about science. Stop believing in the fairy tales of yore, from books of dubious provenance, and start believing in scientific facts instead! If you do that, it will ensure the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people, queer or straight! And maximizing happiness should be our aim. — © Mark Alexander

The EU and the UK have announced they will hold their next summit to discuss the “reset” in relations between London and Brussels on 22 July.
The summit, which will be held in Brussels, has been delayed several times, with talks over a youth mobility scheme allowing under-30s to work, travel or study in each other’s territory deadlocked in recent weeks, fuelling speculation the summit would be postponed until the autumn.
António Costa, the president of the European Council, confirmed the date at the G7 meeting in Evian on Tuesday.
“Close EU-UK cooperation is essential for our shared European security, resilience and prosperity,” he said. “We are working closely together to make our upcoming second summit on 22 July a success.”
The UK prime minister, Keir Starmer, who could be facing a leadership challenge after this Thursday’s Makerfield byelection, said: “My Labour government is delivering on our promise to reset our relationship and put Britain at the heart of Europe.
