Israel Ready to Strike: Ayatollah's Days Numbered
Oct 3, 2024 | “Not only does it create invulnerability, in the eyes of the Ayatollah, who is facing an existential crisis right now, he has no logical successor.”
There is fear amongst the Iranians that Israel could take out the Ayatollah after eliminating their proxies one boy one, says former US ambassador Mark Wallace on World in 10.

Netanyahu Hits Out at Macron over Call for Halt to Arms Exports to Israel
THE GUARDIAN: Israeli prime minister turns on French counterpart’s continuing efforts towards a ceasefire and end to violence in Lebanon
A call by Emmanuel Macron for a halt in arms supplies to Israel for use in Gaza has been met with an angry rebuttal from the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
The French president’s comments were directed mainly at the US and were part of continuing French efforts to revive its call for a ceasefire in Lebanon.
France provides few arms to Israel but is keen to strengthen its longstanding influence in Lebanon by showing it wants the US to put some genuine pressure on Israel to accept a ceasefire. Washington appeared to mount little diplomatic resistance when Israel – after sending mixed signals – rejected a US-French plan for a 21 day ceasefire in Lebanon announced at the UN in New York nearly a fortnight ago.
In an interview recorded on Monday, but broadcast on Saturday, Macron told France Inter radio: “I think that today, the priority is that we return to a political solution, that we stop supplying weapons to lead the fighting in Gaza.” » | Patrick Wintour, Diplomatic editor | Sunday, October 6, 2024
To my great surprise, Emmanuel Macron is on the wrong side of history on this! Macron is ignoring what Hamas did to Israel and Israelis on October 7th, 2023, and he is ignoring the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu with our help will be able to rid the world of the scourges of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hamas. The Palestinian question will never be solved with these two rogue powers undermining peace in the region. We all want the very best for Palestinians. These poor people have suffered enough. But we cannot help Palestinians attain peace and prosperity if Iran and Hamas are big players in the region. They will sour it all. And let us not forget the heinous crimes that Hamas committed against the Israelis in 2023. – © Mark Alexander

Israel Tells US It Plans to Launch Limited Ground Incursion into Lebanon - US Official | BBC News
Sep 30, 2024 | Israel has told the US it plans to launch a limited ground incursion into Lebanon as soon as Monday, a US official has said.
Hezbollah's deputy leader said it's ready for an Israeli ground offensive, as Israel continues air strikes across Lebanon.
It's the first speech by a high-ranking official since Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and Naim Qassem said the battle "may be long".
n Lebanon, officials said more than 1,000 have been killed in the past two weeks, while up to a million people may now be displaced.
That was a very powerful, short speech by Benjamin Netanyahu. True words! – © Mark Alexander

Iran Vows Vengeance after Assassination of Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah
THE OBSERVER: Iran’s supreme leader says Israel’s killing of Nasrallah will “not go unavenged”, as fears grow of spiralling conflict
Iran’s supreme leader has warned Israel that its assassination of Hezbollah’s veteran leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, will “not go unavenged”, as fears of a spiralling conflict in the Middle East grow.
As the shockwaves from Friday evening’s airstrike that killed Nasrallah reverberated through the region, and Israel continued to pound targets in Lebanon, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced five days of official mourning on Saturday and called for an urgent meeting of the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Iran also called for the UN security council to meet over Israel’s actions in Lebanon and across the region.
Israel’s security forces were also put on high alert for possible retaliation, as experts warned the region was facing several scenarios following the killing, including the risk of a widening war that could draw Iran, Hezbollah’s main backer, into a direct conflict with Israel. » | Peter Beaumont in Jerusalem and William Christou in Beirut | Saturday, September 28, 2024

Countries Urge Nationals to Leave Lebanon as Middle East War Fears Grow | BBC News
Aug 4, 2024 | The US has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon on “any ticket available”, as fears grow that war in the Middle East may spread. The UK, Sweden, France, Canada and Jordan have issued a similar warning.
Hezbollah launched dozens of rockets at the town of Beit Hillel in northern Israel at around 00:25 local time on Sunday (21:25 GMT Saturday). Footage posted on social media showed Israel's Iron Dome air defence system intercepting the rockets. There have been no reports of casualties. Israel’s air force responded by striking targets in southern Lebanon.
Iran has vowed “severe” retaliation against Israel, which it blames for the death of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Wednesday.
Israel is yet to comment on his death.

Israel Strikes Beirut Suburb, Targeting Hezbollah Commander
THE NEW YORK TIMES: Tensions have soared between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah since a strike on Saturday in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights killed children and teenagers playing soccer.
Israel carried out a strike in Beirut on Tuesday night, retaliating for an assault that killed 12 children and teenagers in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights over the weekend. The Israeli military said it had targeted a commander whom it blamed for the attack, fueling Western concerns that Israel’s long-running conflict with the powerful Lebanese militia Hezbollah could escalate further.
The Israeli strike was the second time during the war that the Israeli military has targeted Lebanon’s capital, after the killing of a senior Hamas leader there in January.
The explosion in Beirut came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that there would be a “severe” response for the Golan Heights attack, which hit a field where young people were playing soccer. Israel blamed Hezbollah, and the group denied responsibility for the assault, which landed in the Druse Arab village of Majdal Shams. Western officials had urged Israel to exercise restraint in its response. » | Ronen Bergman, Adam Rasgon and Euan Ward | Tuesday, July 30, 2024

Pro-Palestinian Student Sits with Israeli
Jul 24, 2024 | On the streets of NYC a Syrian Arab student stops to engage with an Israeli activist about the future between the Peoples of the Land.
Wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, he came in with strong positions regarding the conflict, but surprisingly shared a balanced and more nuanced approach to resolution, which is often missing in most public discourses revolving this matter.
