Sunak Accused of Toxic Rhetoric after Warning of ‘Overwhelming’ Migration to Europe

THE OBSERVER: Prime minister makes controversial remarks at Rome conference organised by Giorgia Meloni’s party

Rishi Sunak has been accused of adopting the “toxic” rhetoric of his former home secretary Suella Braverman, after he warned that migration would “overwhelm” European countries without firm action.

In remarks that will further inflame the Tory row over migration that has been raging for weeks, the prime minister said that “enemies” were “deliberately driving people to our shores to try to destabilise our society”.

Sunak made the comments at a festival in Rome organised by the far-right Brothers of Italy party, led by the Italian premier Giorgia Meloni. He said that both he and Meloni, with whom he has been forging a close relationship over hardline migration policies, were taking inspiration from Margaret Thatcher’s steadfast radicalism in their quest to do “whatever it takes” to “stop the boats”. » | Angela Giuffrida in Rome and Michael Savage | Saturday, December 16, 2023

Und was tut Sunak dagegen? Was sind seine Lösungen? – © Mark Alexander

Why Has UK Immigration Gone Up since Brexit

Michael Lambert: Net Immigration Reaches 754,000 as Taxes Are Highest since the 1950's

Nov 25, 2023 | In 2022 immigration into the UK reached 1.2 million whilst 508,000 people left giving a net immigration total of 754,000. This compares with a total 0f 226,000 in 2019 which Boris Johnson promised to reduce in the Conservative Party manifesto. 91% of these immigrants are from non-EU countries headed by India, Nigeria and China.

Jeremy Hunt , the chancellor of the exchequer, in his autumn statement, announced a cut in the rate of National Insurance of 2p which will cost approximately £19 billion. He also confirmed that government departments with the exception of Defence and Health will have their budgets frozen thereby saving around £19 bilion.

Income tax thresholds are also being frozen which will result in most people paying more tax and the Treasury benefitting to the tune of around £10 billion per annum.

This was all hailed as the biggest tax cut since the 1980's and Hunt claimed that the UK economy had turned a corner.

Rishi Sunak has told the Covid19 enquiry that scientist were consulted including Chris Witty and Patrick Vallance before he announced his Eat Out To Help Out scheme which is believed to have been responsible for thousands on unnecessary deaths.

Willy, Vallance and Jonathan Van Tam have all given evidence under oath that they were not advised in advance and would have opposed the scheme had they been asked.

John Anderson Interview : Douglas Murray –Israel, Immigration & Islam

Nov 8, 2023 | In this conversation, John sits down with journalist and author Douglas Murray to discuss the war on Western culture in light of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Murray argues that Western Civilisation is being eroded by the collapse of history, faith and moral clarity. This cultural decay, Murray suggests, has been caused by a variety of factors including illegal immigration, secularisation, identity politics and the rise of radical Islam. Nonetheless, Murray is encouraged by the growing support for initiatives like the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) and a common sense middle class who reject elitist identity politics. …

'Outrageous’: Listen to Vivek Ramaswamy’s Controversial Position on Immigration

Sep 21, 2023 | ivek Ramaswamy promotes two controversial policy ideas: stripping citizenship from and deporting people born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrant parents, and taking away voting rights from 18- to 24-year-olds unless they pass a civics test. "Decency seems to be in short supply these days, cruelty in abundance," Eddie Glaude responds to Vivek Ramaswamy and Donald Trump's 2024 immigration strategies. "What we're experiencing right now is fear over demographic shifts. This is 'the Great Replacement' ... this is a part of that debate."

Downing Street Backs Tory Deputy Chair over ‘Back to France’ Comments

THE GUARDIAN: Lee Anderson’s remarks on Bibby Stockholm asylum seekers supported by justice secretary, who No 10 says is speaking for government

Downing Street has backed the Conservative deputy chair, Lee Anderson, after he was criticised for saying people complaining about being housed on the Bibby Stockholm barge after entering the UK illegally should “fuck off back to France”.

Anderson made the comments in an interview with the Daily Express, after the transfer of asylum seekers to the barge was delayed by safety concerns and legal challenges.

He won the backing of Alex Chalk, the justice secretary, who said that while Anderson’s language was “salty” his “indignation is well placed”, and the comments were “not bigotry at all”.

No 10 also said the justice secretary was speaking for the government in backing Anderson. » | Rowena Mason Whitehall editor, Diane Taylor and Sammy Gecsoyler | Tuesday, August 8, 2023

The Tories have reached a new low now! Is Lee Anderson an example of the calibre of today’s Conservative politicians? Of course, he must be. My God! Such a disgraceful man; such a disgraceful way for a man in his position to speak! Sunak should kick this common bully, this bruiser out of the party, not endorse his disgusting outburst. This sort of obscene, obnoxious and intemperate utterance should make all decent Brits feel ashamed of their country. – © Mark Alexander

German Parliament Passes New Immigration Law to Tackle Shortage of Skilled Workers | DW News

Jun 23, 2023 | The German Bundestag on Friday (June 23) finally passed a new immigration law reform designed to encourage more people from outside the European Union to come to Germany for work.

A major new innovation under the law is a new "opportunity card" and its associated points system, which allows foreigners who don't yet have a job lined up to come to Germany for a year to find employment.

A prerequisite for receiving a card will be a vocational qualification or university degree.

The cards will be awarded to those who fulfill a certain number of conditions, for which they will be awarded points: These could be German and/or English language skills, existing ties to Germany, and the potential of accompanying life partners or spouses on the German labor market.

The opportunity card will also permit casual work for up to 20 hours a week while looking for a qualified job, as well as probationary employment.

Michael Lambert: The Government Has No Idea How to Solve Our Post-Brexit Problems

May 13, 2023 | The #rishisunak government has no idea how to solve the country's severe economic problems following #brexit . They fail to understand that all of our problems stem from a shortage of funding and that the only way that can be resolved is through expansion of the economy.

Whilst preoccupied with #immigration the government does not realise that most asylum seekers have no legal route to this country and instead are coming here in lorries as well as by boat across the Channel. Others who come here on temporary work visas often remain in the black economy instead of returning home. Immigration from the EU is now negative with more EU members returning to the EU than coming to the UK.

One of the consequences of the declining #economy following Brexit is that instead of 'the brightest and the best' coming to the UK, our own brightest and best are leaving to live and work in other countries.

UK water companies which, like gas, electricity and the railways, are all privately-owned, mostly by foreigners. Whilst they tip sewage in our rivers and sea they paid out £1.4 billion last year alone in dividends.

43-year-old Kemi Badenoch, an extremely rude, arrogant and self-assured woman, who has been an MP only for six years and a cabinet minister only for six months, is the bookies' favourite to replace Rishi Sunak as leader of the Conservatives and Prime Minister if he is challenged for the leadership.

Liz Truss Plans More Immigration in Effort to Fill Vacancies and Drive Growth

THE GUARDIAN: Government likely to lift cap on agricultural and broadband workers, and alter shortage occupations list

Liz Truss is preparing to increase immigration to fill job vacancies and boost economic growth in a move that will anger some of her ministers and MPs.

The prime minister plans to raise the number of workers allowed to enter the UK, government sources have confirmed.

Reports claim the government will lift the cap on seasonal agricultural workers and broadband engineers, and make other changes to the shortage occupations list, which will allow key sectors to recruit more overseas staff.

Truss is said to be keen to recruit broadband engineers to complete a pledge to make full-fibre broadband available to 85% of UK homes by 2025. It has also been suggested that she could ease the English-language requirement in some sectors to enable more foreign workers to qualify for visas.

The proposals faces resistance from cabinet Brexiters including the home secretary, Suella Braverman, and the trade secretary, Kemi Badenoch, according to the Sunday Times.

One Conservative MP said that many new Conservative voters in “red wall” seats will be baffled by any softening of immigration rules.

“The government is going to have to explain to those people who thought we were a pro-Brexit government and want to curb immigration why we seem to be changing tack,” the MP said. » | Rajeev Syal | Sunday, September 25, 2022

This woman must surely be taking the effing piss! We have come out of the European Union because of too many 'immigrants' coming into the country—note that most of those people were then part of our homeland - Europe – of which we were a part; and they were largely of the same cultural and religious background: Judaeo-Christian, And when we were in the European Union, everything was going just fine. But that was too much for this turncoat: the once committed Remainer who turned Brexiteer when it suited her career ambitions. Were this woman to be an object, one would say she is not 'fit for purpose'. I therefore say this: Eject the woman from her position as soon as possible, before she does any more damage to this once great country. Shame on her! Shame on the Tories! The party is as corrupt as corrupt can be. – © Mark Alexander

2. UK Ministers Eager to Ease Immigration Rules for Indian Citizens

THE GUARDIAN: Offer could be on table in upcoming trade talks in Delhi in bid to access to country’s growing economy

Ministers are keen to ease immigration restrictions in a bid to make it easier for thousands of Indian citizens to live and work in the UK as part of forthcoming trade talks.

The potential offer will be under discussion when the international trade secretary, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, travels to Delhi this month, reports the Times. Relaxing immigration rules for Indian citizens is a key demand from Delhi.

Trevelyan is said to have the backing of the foreign secretary, Liz Truss, who is keen to curb China’s growing influence in the region. However, they are likely to meet strong resistance from the home secretary, Priti Patel, who opposes the offer.

According to the publication, visa relaxation options under consideration include a scheme similar to one agreed with Australia which would allow young Indians the right to live and work in the UK for up to three years. Another would be to cut visa fees for students and allow them to stay in Britain for a period of time after they graduate. » | Jane Clinton | Saturday, January 1, 2022
