Mit Songs wie “What’s Going On”, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” und “Sexual Healing” prägte er Generationen und verlieh gesellschaftlichen Fragen eine unverwechselbare Stimme.

Jahrhunderts.

Rob Groves: Epstein, Brexit and the Oligarch Network

Feb 7, 2026 | Brexit was sold as a patriotic uprising against “global elites”. But ten years on, the evidence tells a very different story. New reporting from the Epstein files shows how Brexit was welcomed inside elite billionaire networks as a “return to tribalism”. And when you trace the money, the data operations, the propaganda pipelines and the political networks behind Brexit, a clear pattern emerges. Brexit strengthened oligarchs, authoritarians and data-driven political operators.

Propaganda: The Art of Selling Lies (2019) | Full Documentary

Dec 19, 2025 | As media outlets become increasingly polarized, and as social media rules information feeds, where does propaganda come into play? Trump Refuses to Apologize for Racist Obama Meme Claiming He Didn't See Section People 'Didn't Like'

Feb 7, 2026 | For years, each new racial controversy surrounding Donald Trump has been met with the same refrain: “This is not who we are as Americans.” But what if that reassurance is the real illusion?

This video confronts the uncomfortable truth behind Trump’s latest racist controversy—his reposting of a video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes—and situates it within a lifelong pattern of racial grievance, dehumanization, and political reward.

Far from an isolated lapse, the incident exposes how racism is routinely minimized, deflected, or absorbed by American political institutions until accountability disappears.

Trump didn’t invent racism in American politics—he stripped away the euphemisms. His success raises a harder question than his intent: why has this worked, repeatedly, with so few lasting consequences?

If America wants to claim this is not who it is, the claim has to be proven—through action, not repetition.

Since re-election, Trump has been able, through corruption, to fill his bank accounts with ill-gotten gains. In fact, he has used his presidency as a cash cow and made himself very rich. But there is one thing he cannot enrich himself with, and that’s class! It matters not a jot how much money Trump will ever be able to make or accumulate, he will never have any class. To put it into the vernacular: the man is as common as muck! And this latest racist Truth Social post proves it. Furthermore, his racism should put to bed any notion that he is a Christian. And as for the absurd notion that he has been sent by God to save America is not just to believe in nonsense and poppycock, it is tantamount to insulting God Himself! It makes a mockery of faith. — © Mark Alexander

Michael Lambert: Why No Leader Can Fix Britain’s Current Course

Feb 7, 2026 | In this video I reflect on recent events in British politics from a very different perspective — speaking from Bangkok and watching the UK from afar.

I discuss the latest defections to Reform UK, why Nigel Farage still represents a political cul-de-sac rather than a governing future, and what these shifts say about the Conservative Party’s decline.

I also look at Keir Starmer’s trip to China, the reality behind the so-called “sophisticated relationship”, and the uncomfortable truth about Britain trying to negotiate alone in a world dominated by large trade blocs.

Along the way I touch on Peter Mandelson, Labour’s leadership dilemma, Andy Burnham, Davos and the wider question of whether Brexit has left Britain trying to play a role in the world that no longer exists.

America Is in Rupture under Trump | Anne Applebaum & Preet Bharara

Feb 5, 2026 | What do the ICE operations in Minneapolis reveal about a broader shift in the exercise of state power? Pulitzer Prize–winning historian, The Atlantic staff writer, and "Autocracy in America" podcast host Anne Applebaum joins Preet Bharara on Stay Tuned with Preet to discuss why Minneapolis has galvanized people in a way few events have in the Trump era, and why our closest allies now say the word for this moment is “rupture.”

The conversation begins with a discussion about the Trump administration's complete disregard for the rule of law and its implications for America. Next, they discuss the ICE crackdown in Minnesota and the administration's lies after the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The conversation also turns to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s recent speech at Davos, where he warned that the world was witnessing not a transition but a “rupture”—and Applebaum shares why she agrees with that view and what "rupture" really means.

Whitehouse Reveals Trump ‘Minnesota ICE Fraud’, Criminal History And ‘Biggest Fraud Ever’ In America

Feb 6, 2026 | US News: US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has joined growing calls for answers and accountability from the federal government over controversial actions tied to Minnesota, including claims from the Trump administration about fraud and criminality and a massive deployment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. In congressional hearings and public statements, Whitehouse has demanded transparency and honesty from the administration regarding its use of federal power, oversight failures, and assertions about fraud linked to federal programs in Minnesota — calling for truth and clarity amid competing narratives about law enforcement and civil rights

Have You Noticed Smoking Is Making a Comeback? I Hate That. I Love That. | Opinion

USA TODAY: I know smoking is bad for my health. We all know that. So why is it making a comeback?

The sight of snuffed cigarette butts in an ashtray might feel jarringly anachronistic these days, given successful efforts to curtail the smelly act for decades.

Nonetheless, we're edging toward a resurgence, at least in popular culture, of the classic combustion of an old-school cigarette, even if the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention assures us rates aren’t yet increasing. Unfortunately, I’ve fallen into the quiet resurgence.

I’m a 46-year-old diabetic who tries to be healthy, yet after quitting 20 years ago, I find myself back in the alley occasionally (always shamefully) puffing as I hold pleasure and consequence in the same breath. My friends call it nostalgia. I think it's deeper – a defiant exhale of the angst and authenticity I crave in an uncertain world.

The historical canon of smoking is well-documented from early 20th century glamour and association with sophistication, rebellion and artistic freedom – see flappers, film noir, World War II soldiers, the Beat Generation, the Marlboro Man and Bob Dylan.

I grew up in the haze of the 1990s when smoking wasn’t just a habit, it was a personality – raw and rebellious – butts smeared with Courtney Love’s red lipstick, the thrift-store fantasy of "Reality Bites," the sultry detachment of Mia Wallace in "Pulp Fiction."

Smoking offers a palpable pause, a singular moment of physical presence in an existence mediated by the ever-present pressure of political machinations. And when those threats feel ambient and involuntary, smoking is a sensory language all its own, where the health consequences almost fade to black (like my lungs) as I relish each tantalizing feature of personal agency.

Vanished by Order: Hitler’s “Night and Fog” Decree.

Jan 15, 2026 | In December 1941, Nazi Germany introduced a policy designed not just to punish resistance, but to erase it entirely. Under Adolf Hitler’s Nacht und Nebel decree — “Night and Fog” — thousands of people across occupied Europe were taken without warning, transported in secret, and removed from all official records. Their families were never told where they were taken. Many never learned whether they were alive or dead.

This documentary traces how the Night and Fog system operated in practice — from midnight arrests in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Norway, to sealed transports into Germany, to prisons and concentration camps where prisoners were deliberately isolated, denied names, and cut off from the outside world. The goal was not secrecy, but uncertainty. Silence itself became a weapon.

Using survivor testimony, wartime documents, transport records, and post-war investigations, this film reconstructs how the Night and Fog decree was built, why it continued, and what happened to those who vanished inside it. It examines the bureaucratic machinery that allowed people to disappear on paper — and the families left behind who waited for answers that never came.

This is not a story of battlefield combat. It is a story of administration, paperwork, and a system designed to function without witnesses.

Canada and France Open Greenland Consulates in Show of Denmark Support

THE GUARDIAN: Founding of diplomatic outposts in Nuuk comes after US made efforts to secure control of Arctic island

Canada and France are to open diplomatic consulates in the capital of Greenland on Friday, showing support for their Nato ally Denmark and the Arctic island after US efforts to secure control of the semi-autonomous Danish territory.

Canada’s foreign minister, Anita Anand, was travelling to Nuuk to inaugurate the consulate, which officials say also could help boost cooperation on issues such as the climate crisis and Inuit rights. She was joined by Canada’s Indigenous governor general, Mary Simon.

France’s foreign ministry said Jean-Noël Poirier would take up duties as the country’s consul general, making it the first EU country to establish a consulate general in Greenland.

Poirier would be “tasked with working to deepen existing cooperation projects with Greenland in the cultural, scientific and economic fields, while also strengthening political ties with the local authorities”, the ministry said. » | Associated Press in Nuuk | Friday, February 6, 2026

Trump Shares Video with Racist Imagery of Barack and Michelle Obama in Late-night Posting Spree

THE GUARDIAN: In clip amplifying false claim that Trump won 2020 election, the Obamas’ faces are superimposed on bodies of apes

The clip appeared during one of the 79-year-old US president’s increasingly frequent late-night posting sprees to his Truth Social account, and shows the laughing faces of the former president and first lady superimposed on the bodies of primates in a jungle setting, bobbing to the song The Lion Sleeps Tonight. » | Richard Luscombe | Friday, February 6, 2026

Anand Giridharadas: What the Epstein Documents Reveal about Power in America

Feb 4, 2026 | In a wide-ranging conversation, Anand Giridharadas joins Terry Moran to examine power, morality, and the elite networks that shape American life — from politics and corporate culture to inequality, immigration, and democracy itself. Prompted by the release of the Epstein documents, the discussion moves beyond scandal to ask deeper questions: how elite impunity works, why consequences so rarely attach to power, how corporate values shift with political winds, and why so many Americans have lost trust in institutions meant to serve them.

The conversation also explores the rise of Donald Trump, the collapse of elite credibility, and the enduring tension between exclusion and belonging in American history — including what still draws people from around the world to become American. This is not a story of conspiracy. It is a factual story about systems, incentives, and power — and about what, even now, continues to set America apart.

Greenland Is Queer-friendly, Not for Sale, and Not Impressed by Trump

Jan 21, 2026 | Greenland, the world’s largest island and a self-governing part of the Kingdom of Denmark, has a very small population, and that population includes LGBTQ people. Greenland has marriage equality and very open attitudes toward the Queer community. LGBTQ people feel so safe and integral that there are few designated queer spaces, though the country’s capital or even Copenhagen is available to those who want a more urban feel with more obvious queer spaces.

Speaking of Greenland, apparently, Donald Trump is serious about wanting to take it against the will of the Greenlanders and Danish people, but many of the people in the US aren't really on board with taking over Greenland. A recent poll shows that about 75% of Americans are opposed to the US trying to take control of Greenland. In fact, there's bipartisan opposition to the idea, with some lawmakers warning that using military force could damage the NATO alliance.

Denmark and Greenland's leaders have made it clear they're not interested in selling, saying "Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders" and demanding respect for their territorial integrity. Even some Greenlanders are speaking out, citing concerns about preserving their way of life, including hunting traditions.

It's worth noting that President Trump has been pushing for US control, citing national security concerns and the island's strategic location, but it seems like he's facing significant resistance both domestically and internationally.

Several NATO nations have pledged to defend Greenland, and Trump is threatening tariffs on those nations. Good God, Squad, WTF?

Could International Boycotts of US Brands Indicate a Decline in US Cultural Power? | DW News

Feb 6, 2026 | US President Donald Trump's return to the White House and his tariffs have had a seismic impact on global markets. Trump's own personal brand is growing - from cryptocurrencies to merchandise and real estate - but his policies are also creating "reputational risks" for other American companies.

Long before Trump, many US brands were able to capitalize on the "cool factor" of being American. But since Trump's terms in office, international movements to boycott US products have spread around the world. Is this backlash causing an actual decline in consumption of US products?

Crypto Takes a Deep Slide Despite Trump’s Support

THE NEW YORK TIMES: The price of Bitcoin is now lower than when President Trump was elected in 2024, raising concerns of a new “crypto winter” in the industry.

The price of Bitcoin is lower than it was the day before President Trump’s election. A leading cryptocurrency exchange is laying off a large chunk of its work force. And a push for industry-friendly legislation has stalled in Congress.

After months of declining prices and dispiriting setbacks, the crypto industry has found itself deep in one of its periodic slumps — a so-called crypto winter.

Bitcoin is trading at less than $64,000, a nearly 50 percent decline from its peak price, which it reached just last October. The prices of two other top coins, Ether and Solana, are both down more than 30 percent over the past week.

At the same time, the stock prices of major crypto firms have plummeted. Strategy, a company that buys enormous amounts of Bitcoin, is down 75 percent since November 2024, when Mr. Trump was newly elected and promised to make the United States “the crypto capital of the planet.” » | David Yaffe-Bellany | David Yaffe-Bellany covers the crypto industry. | Thursday, February 5, 2026

White Power: Europas Rechtsextreme | Doku HD Reupload | ARTE
