Why the West Hates Arabs and Islam

Nov 12, 2025 | For over a thousand years, the West has told the same story — the Arab and the Muslim as the eternal enemy. From the Crusades to colonialism to the War on Terror, that myth has justified centuries of violence — all the way to Gaza today.

This is the story of how that lie was written… and why we’re still living inside it.

Was Clacton Fiasco Beginning of the End for Farage and Reform?

August 21, 2026 | Farage has gone missing since the Clacton by-election — and the party he built is falling apart around him.

I wasn't going to talk about Farage this week, but after the Clacton by-election he's done a disappearing act and Reform UK appears to be in complete meltdown.

n this video I look at why calling that by-election was the first major unforced error of Farage's career — the moment he realised he'd made a classic mistake and went to ground.

From the poll slump (27% down to 24%) to the pressers from Richard Tice and Bob Jenrick, the £50 billion benefit cut plan, and the long list of scandals and fallings-out — the £5 million gift, the tax investigations, the convictions — this is a party beginning to look like a complete rabble.

I also ask the bigger question: Is this finally it for the man who brought us Brexit? …

$40 Trillion 'Time Bomb’': Is Trump about to Break the Global Economy?

Aug 21, 2026 | Is Donald Trump driving the world economy off a cliff while you’re on your summer holiday?

America has just passed $40 trillion of debt. Trump’s tariffs are pushing up prices, his tax cuts are adding to the deficit, and his war with Iran has sent oil prices soaring. Now bond markets are turning on him. The US treasury has tried to step in and calm the bond markets, but it doesn’t appear to have worked. So what exactly is going on?

Is this just a wobble in the bond markets - or a sign of something much worse to come?

On this episode of The Fourcast, Ciaran Jenkins is joined by Pippa Malmgren, who served as an economic adviser to President George W. Bush, and The Economist’s economics editor Archie Hall.

Trump Ultra-loyal Aide Natalie Harp in the Spotlight • FRANCE 24 English

Aug 21, 2026 | She is a near-constant presence at US President Donald Trump's side, but until recently his ultra-loyal aide Natalie Harp had managed to stay out of the spotlight. That has all changed since it emerged the 35-year-old was one of a handful of people who secretly swapped from Air Force One with Trump in Turkey after a security threat. The blonde executive assistant to the president was then mentioned by a Democratic senate hopeful, in comments that set the internet alight – and incensed the White House.

Pakistan Ex-PM Imran Khan Back in Jail after Hospital Examination | BBC News

August 21, 2026 | Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan was moved back to prison early on Friday after being examined by doctors at a hospital in Islamabad, who deemed him "medically fit".

The Supreme Court had on Tuesday ordered the cricketer-turned-politician be taken to a specific private hospital within 48 hours to be examined by physicians, following complaints about his health.

It was the most significant relief Khan has received from the courts since he was imprisoned in 2023 on corruption charges, which he says were politically motivated.

As well as being transferred to hospital, the court order also specified Khan should be allowed to see his family, which he has not been able to do in months.

Cigars Face Extinction under Labour ‘Nanny State’ Attack

THE TELEGRAPH: Ban on traditional packaging could lead to ‘total wipe-out’ of industry, tobacconists claim

This screenshot has been taken from this Telegraph article. | It could be ‘game over’ for Britain’s cigar industry if the proposed rules come into play | Credit: Jeff Gilbert

Cigars face disappearing from Britain within a matter of years under “nanny state” health plans to make smoking less attractive.

Health ministers are considering fresh proposals to ban them unless they come in plain packaging with graphic photographs, similar to cigarettes.

It threatens to outlaw centuries-old artwork that adorns the boxes and bands of authentic handmade cigars, sold largely by small family businesses that have long been exempt from onerous packaging rules applied to corporate tobacco giants.

The proposals have caused uproar across the industry, which fears the rules will cut off imports to Britain.

Tobacconists are warning the rules will put them “out of business” for good and lead to a “total wipe-out” of the sector within a matter of years. » | Noah Eastwood Money Reporter. Harry Brennan Consumer Affairs Editor | Friday, August 21, 2026

Stop this damn war on smoking! Period! I am no longer a smoker, but even so, I am sick and tired of this war. There are far, far worse, unhealthier things in life than enjoying a cigar or even a cigarette. Until just over four years ago, I smoked for most of my adult life, and I look back on my time as a smoker with joy and affection. I have quit smoking very successfully, but I cannot say I feel any healthier as a result of quitting. And as for the pleasure I get out of life, it is seriously diminished. Do-gooders make me sick! Far sicker than smoking ever did! This perpetual war on smoking is enough to make me want to leave these shores for good. The problem is that our politicians of all stripes have no understanding of joie de vivre and its life-enhancing potential and contribution to longevity. — © Mark Alexander

Trump will mindestens einen „Trump Tower“ in Nordkorea errichten lassen. Wahrscheinlich sogar noch viel mehr. Trump sieht in Nordkorea Dollarzeichen! — G Mark Alexander

Most US Voters Believe Trump Has Inappropriately Profited in Office, Poll Finds

August 19, 2026 | A majority of Americans believe Trump and his family have inappropriately profited from cryptocurrency since his return to power and that his policy decisions are influenced by his private business dealings, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll found.

Americans are inclined to be so harsh, cruel, merciless, and lacking in understanding for people who break the law, yet when it comes to Trump’s corruption, they can be so gentle and reticent to criticize. Let us be absolutely clear: Trump is the most corrupt president in my long lifetime. He is also probably the richest. But that fortune is ill-gotten. Trump is the wrong man in the wrong office. And Americans are having to pay a very high price for their poor judgment. We in the rest of the world are also having to pay a high price: a high price for Americans’ political ignorance, naïveté, and extremely poor judgment. — © Mark Alexander

Sycophancy in Stereo as Former Trump Hater Michael Cohen Loses His Nerve

THE GUARDIAN: Fawning, deferential, oleaginous – this was the Untruth and Reconciliation Commission as Trump called in to 77 WABC

“Our next guest is a ‘racist’, a ‘conman’ and a ‘cheat’ – someone who behaves more like a ‘mobster’ than a president. Please welcome Donald J Trump!”

That is how Michael Cohen could have introduced Trump on his New York radio show on Thursday. After all, Cohen used such terms to describe the US president in his testimony to Congress in 2019. But now Trump’s former personal lawyer and self-described fixer had different words: “boss” and “sir”. Just like old times.

Yes, the same Michael Cohen who claimed that Trump courted white supremacists and bigots and who arranged a $130,000 hush-money payment to the adult film star Stormy Daniels on his behalf. Trump, in turn, branded Cohen a “rat”. The mutual hatred was palpable.

Yet here we were with the Untruth and Reconciliation Commission on 77 WABC radio. Cohen delivered one of the most deferential, fawning, oleaginous and sycophantic interviews in modern broadcasting history. He rolled out the metaphorical red carpet for Trump. He made appreciative noises in all the right places. He allowed the president’s lies to go unchallenged.

Cohen is hardly the first Trump hater to lose their nerve. Steve Bannon, Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, Lindsey Graham, Kevin McCarthy, Elon Musk, Marco Rubio and JD Vance have all denounced him only to come crawling back. The motive is usually power or wealth. Cohen’s might be different. The man who served prison time for his role in what he said was covering up Trump’s “dirty deeds” has submitted an application for a pardon. » | David Smith in Washington | Friday, August 21, 2026

The Real Reason I Walked Away from My Faith

This video isn’t meant to offend, judge, or argue. It’s simply my personal story the moments, the thoughts, and the feelings that led me to walk away from my religion. It was painful, confusing, and incredibly hard but it was also the only way I could be true to myself.

U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion as America’s Borrowing Binge Continues

THE NEW YORK TIMES: President Trump’s promises to restore fiscal order and reduce the amount of America’s debt burden have been undercut by spending on the Iran war, tax cuts and tariff refunds.

America’s gross national debt topped $40 trillion for the first time on Wednesday, an ominous milestone for an economy that sits on a shaky fiscal foundation after decades of borrowing to pay for the rising costs of the military, social safety net programs and President Trump’s tax cuts.

This year alone, the United States is on track to borrow more than $2 trillion to help pay for its obligations, including spending on the war in Iran and the sweeping tax cuts that Republicans enacted in 2025. Soaring interest payments to investors who have purchased America’s debt now make up about half of that red ink, pushing the United States into a deeper financial hole.

Whether the mounting debt load is a problem to be solved or a function of America’s economic strength remains a matter of debate. Deficits are also a point of political gamesmanship, with Republicans most passionate about eliminating them when they are out of power.

“The scariest thing about this is how we’re starting to see the debt spiral begin,” said Marc Goldwein, senior policy director for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, which supports deficit reduction, referring to interest on the debt.

The inability of lawmakers to confront the debt comes with long-term risks. While the United States remains the world’s largest economy, its mounting debt load could lead investors to demand higher interest rates for U.S. bonds or raise questions about the nation’s creditworthiness, which could erode confidence in the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. » | Alan Rappeport | Reporting from Washington | Wednesday, August 19, 2026

Trump Wants to See Kim Jong Un after They ‘Fell in Love’

US officials have revealed that President Donald Trump is pursuing another meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong-Un.

The US leader is urging aides to arrange a sit-down as early as November, the Wall Street Journal reports. This development follows Trump's efforts to revitalize a diplomatic objective from his first term aimed at persuading Kim to dismantle North Korea's nuclear weapons program.

Sources indicate that Trump has privately explored organizing a face-to-face discussion with Kim during his upcoming Asia trip, potentially scheduled for November when world leaders convene at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, China.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to return to live in Britain, six years after leaving for the US, it has been reported.

The couple and their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are expected to relocate later this month to a non-royal residence.

The property is believed to be outside London, and the children are enrolled to start school in September, the Daily Telegraph reported.

King Charles was informed on Sunday that his son and daughter-in-law would return to Britain, according to the Telegraph.

It comes after the Sussexes, who have lived in California since 2020, had a reunion with the king last month at Highgrove in Gloucestershire.

The king is said to welcome the opportunity to see more of his family in a personal capacity but there will be no change in their status as private individuals after relinquishing their official working roles within the royal family. » | Nadeem Badshah | Wednesday, August 19, 2026

What Happened to Egypt’s Royal Family After the Monarchy Fell?

August 15, 2026 | In 1952, Egypt's royal family was one of the most powerful dynasties in the Middle East. They controlled five palaces, 200 cars, two yachts, and 30,000 hectares of prime land along the Nile. Then, in a single night, a group of young military officers overthrew the monarchy — and everything changed.

King Farouk was forced to abdicate and sail into exile on his own royal yacht. His six-month-old son became the last King of Egypt for less than a year before the republic was declared. Palaces were seized. Properties were confiscated. Citizenship was stripped. And an entire dynasty that had ruled Egypt for nearly 150 years was erased from political life almost overnight.

But what happened to the people behind the crown? What became of King Farouk in his years of exile in Rome? What happened to the infant king who grew up without a country? And where are the descendants of Egypt's royal family today?

This is the untold story of the Muhammad Ali dynasty after the fall — from the founding of modern Egypt by an Albanian military commander, to the lavish reign of King Farouk, to the 1952 revolution that ended it all, and the quiet, haunting afterlives of the royal family scattered across Europe.
