Kill Him “Like a Pig”!
DAILY MAIL: An Islamist fanatic plotted to snatch a British Muslim soldier from the streets and film him being beheaded "like a pig" in a lock-up garage, a court heard.

Parviz Khan, 37, built up a terrorist cell in Birmingham and planned to kidnap the soldier before filming his "ghastly" death for release to the media.

The attack was designed to cause "panic and fear" amongst the Army and the wider British public.

Leicester Crown Court was told that the terror cell had sent money and equipment to Pakistan for the use of terrorists trying to kill British soldiers on the Afghan border.

Prosecutor Nigel Rumfitt QC said Khan wanted to get "physically involved" in the bloodshed but was prevented by "his bosses overseas" because his supply operation was so valued.

Instead, the court heard, he hatched the plot to kill a soldier in the UK.

He decided to target a Muslim fighting in the British Army and asked another member of the cell to identify a potential victim.
Mr Rumfitt said: "The prosecution say that Parviz Khan is a fanatic.

"He is a man who has the most violent and extreme views. Khan was enraged by the idea that there were Muslim soldiers in the British Army, some of them from the Gambia in West Africa.

"He decided to kidnap such a soldier with the help of drug dealers in Birmingham.

Four-Year-Olds Must Learn about Same-Sex Families!
DAILY MAIL: Teachers should not assume that their pupils have a "mum and dad" under guidance aimed at tackling antigay bullying in schools.

It says primary pupils as young as four should be familiarised with the idea of same-sex couples to help combat homophobic attitudes.

Teachers should attempt to avoid assumptions that pupils will have a conventional family background, it urges.

It goes on to suggest the word "parents" may be more appropriate than "mum and dad", particularly in letters and emails to the child's home.

When discussing marriage with secondary pupils, teachers should also educate pupils about civil partnerships and gay adoption rights.

The guidance - produced for the Government by gay rights group Stonewall - will be formally launched today by Schools Secretary Ed Balls.

It states that children who call classmates "gay" should be treated the same as racists as part of a "zero tolerance" crackdown on the use of the word as an insult.

Teachers should avoid telling boys to 'be a man' or accuse them of behaving like a "bunch of women".

This sort of rebuke "leads to bullying of those who do not conform to fixed ideas about gender", the guidance states.

At the same time, schools should encourage gay role models among staff, parents and governors. Wien/Istanbul. Eine neue Studie wagt einen Blick ins Jahr 2015. Das Szenario: Die Türkei hat die Beitrittskriterien erfüllt. Wie schon 2008 angekündigt, findet in Österreich, als einzigem Land in der EU, eine Volksabstimmung über den Beitritt statt. Boulevardzeitungen machen Stimmung für ein Nein. Die FPÖ erregt wieder einmal Aufsehen mit islamfeindlichen Äußerungen. 95 Prozent stimmen mit „Nein“. Nach zehn Jahren Beitrittsverhandlungen schlittert die EU in eine neue politische Krise. Wien ist voll mit tausenden Korrespondenten, darunter 900 aus islamischen Ländern. CNN und al-Jazeera befragen Bergbauern in Tirol und Taxifahrer in Klagenfurt: Was habt ihr gegen die Türken?

Ein unrealistisches Szenario? Nicht für die „European Stability Initiative“ (ESI), einen angesehenen Think Tank mit Stützpunkten in Berlin, Brüssel und Istanbul. In der neuen Studie „Der unbekannte Türke und eine künftige Volksabstimmung – Anatomie einer österreichischen Debatte“ beschäftigt sich das angesehene Institut mit genau diesem Szenario – und seinen möglichen Gründen.

Es geht um Kultur, nicht Religion

Die unterschiedliche Religion steht nicht im Vordergrund, zeigen die von der Studie zitierten EU-Umfragewerte. Für 60 Prozent ist diese Frage für einen EU-Beitritt irrelevant. Nur 28 Prozent sehen Europa als „christliche Festung“. Sehr wohl geht es aber um Kultur und Identität: Für 74 Prozent ist die Türkei einfach „kein europäisches Land“. Ebenso viele halten die kulturellen Unterschiede für zu hoch. Im EU-Schnitt sind es nur 54 Prozent. Durch diesen „Generalverdacht“ geraten mögliche positive Aspekte eines Beitritts, die in anderen EU-Ländern stark diskutiert werden, aus dem Blickfeld der Debatte: vor allem wirtschaftliche Vorteile und der Sicherheitsaspekt – die Türkei als „soft power“ im Nahen Osten.

Den Hauptgrund für die stark empfundene Fremdheit sieht Studienautor Gerald Knaus in fehlender Information über die moderne Türkei an den Schulen: „Österreichs Schüler lernen nichts über die Türkische Republik. Cameron Seeks 'Hate Preachers’ Ban
DAILY EXPRESS: Conservative leader David Cameron has called for a ban on "preachers of hate" entering the United Kingdom.

Mr Cameron accused Prime Minister Gordon Brown of dithering over the case of Islamist cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi, following press reports that he is to be granted permission to come to London for medical treatment.



The Tory leader branded Mr al-Qaradawi - and the head of Hezbollah's TV station Ibrahim Moussawi, who recently spoke in Manchester - "dangerous and divisive" and said they should not be allowed in the country. And he called for a complete ban on Islamist political movements Hizb-ut-Tahrir and Hezbollah.



Speaking at the first meeting in London of a working group between the Conservatives and the main German centre-right party the CDU, Mr Cameron is due to say: "It's clear for reasons of our security that we must expel or refuse entry to those who preach hate, pit one faith against another and divide our society. 



"So I call on the Government to confirm that it will not be giving al-Qaradawi permission to enter this country and that it will not repeat the mistake of last December and make clear that Moussawi is not welcome in the UK."

Muslim Extremists Call for Death Threats Against Geert Wilders’ Girlfriend and His Associates
MEMRI: On January 29, 2008, participants in the Islamist forum Al-Ikhlas, hosted by CrystalTech Web Hosting Inc., Phoenix, AZ, USA, posted an announcement calling, in the event that Geert Wilders releases his film, for death threats against his girlfriend and against anyone else associated with him.

The announcement also proposed sending letters to the media explaining that the threats are motivated by Wilders' attacks on the Koran, and urges forum members to recruit Muslim youth in Europe and to train them to make bombs to attack the Netherlands, which they called "an apostate country occupying Afghanistan." WORLD NET DAILY: In a special ceremony, the Pentagon recently promoted a Wahhabi-trained Muslim chaplain who catered to al-Qaida detainees at Guantanamo and fought to establish the first mosque in Marine Corps history.

Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England personally promoted Navy chaplain Abuhena Mohammed Saifulislam from lieutenant to lieutenant commander. Saifulislam also received a Joint Service Commendation Medal at the Pentagon ceremony held on the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Pentagon officials say the ceremony was unprecedented.

"It's unusual for a deputy secretary to personally promote an officer of that rank," said one official who wished to go unnamed.

"No one has known of such a high-level dignitary doing that."

England also earlier this year personally dedicated a new Islamic center at Marine headquarters in Quantico, Va., on the advice of Saifulislam, a Bangladesh immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in 1995.

The Muslim chaplain, who is stationed at Quantico, recited verses from the Quran in Arabic and English at the summer dedication ceremony, which included representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, several leaders of which have been convicted on terrorism-related charges. Was immer Tony Blair sich in den zehn Jahren seiner Amtszeit als britischer Premier an Verdiensten erworben haben mag – Verdienste um die Europäische Union sind nicht dabei. Als er 1997 in die Downing Street 10 einzog, gab er sich als passionierter Europäer und gelobte, Großbritannien „ins Herz Europas“ zu rücken.

Es ist ihm nicht gelungen. Er hat es nicht einmal ernsthaft versucht. Vielmehr blieb seine Europapolitik trügerisch und halbherzig. Zaghaftigkeit charakterisierte sie, Nachgiebigkeit gegenüber den euro-phoben Pressezaren seines Landes, unbegreifliches Kuschen vor seinem Schatzkanzler und Nachfolger Gordon Brown, der eine „rote Linie“ nach der anderen zog, die das Vereinigte Königreich auf der Straße nach Brüssel nicht überschreiten dürfe.

So kommt es, dass England noch immer nicht mit beiden Beinen in Europa steht, geschweige denn mit dem Herzen im Herz der Union. Es ist bis heute ein Außenseiter geblieben. Beim Euro ist es nicht dabei; in der Schengen-Zone macht es nicht mit; die Grundrechte-Charta hat es nicht übernommen; aus der gemeinsamen Justiz- und Sicherheitspolitik hat es sich in den Verhandlungen über den Reformvertrag ausgeklinkt. Als Blair aus dem Amt schied, war Großbritannien innerlich weiter von der EU entfernt als bei seinem Amtsantritt.

Der künftige EU-Präsident soll nach dem Lissaboner Vertrag zweieinhalb Jahre amtieren, nicht länger bloß sechs Monate. Es ist schlechthin unvorstellbar, dass er, der doch die Stimme Europas sein wird, das europäische Projekt nicht mit vollem Engagement verficht. "Turkey’s Most Pressing Problem": "Freedom of Expression"
BBC: A Turkish court has handed down a 15-month suspended jail term to an academic found guilty of insulting the state's founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

Professor Atilla Yayla said the trial highlighted the limits on free speech and academic debate in Turkey.
His crime was to suggest in academic discussion that the early Turkish republic was not as progressive as portrayed in official books.

His lawyers say they will lodge an immediate appeal.

Professor Yayla told the BBC he was prepared to take his case to the European Court of Human Rights if necessary.

Den HAAG. Das Video ist klar und deutlich: Es ist ein Aufruf zum Mord. Gezeigt wird ein lebensgroßes Foto des rechtspopulistischen Politikers Geert Wilders. Erst ertönt arabische Musik, dann der Ruf „Allahu akbar“ (Allah ist groß). Ein Schuss fällt. Er trifft Wilders in die Stirn. Dazu die Textzeile „Headshot one“ (Kopfschuss eins).

So geht es weiter. Fünf Kugeln treffen den Papierkopf. Eine geht in den Mund – dazu das zynische Insert „Mouthshot“ (Mundschuss). „Allah ist groß“, tönt es wieder. Man sah das Video auf der Internetseite „YouTube“; es wurde inzwischen entfernt, ist aber auf anderen Websites zu finden. Wilders hat Anzeige gegen Unbekannt erstattet. Die Justiz ermittelt. Europeans Think Islam Is Dangerous
THE SUNDAY EXPRESS: AN “overwhelming majority” of Europeans believe immigration from Islamic countries is a threat to their traditional way of life, a survey revealed last night.

The poll, carried out across 21 countries, found “widespread anti-immigration sentiment”, but warned Europe’s Muslim population will treble in the next 17 years.

It reported “a severe deficit of trust is found between the Western and Muslim communities”, with most people wanting less interaction with the Muslim world.

Last night an MP warned it showed that political leaders in Britain who preach the benefits of unlimited immigration were dangerously out of touch with the public.

The study, whose authors include the former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, was commissioned for leaders at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

It reports “a growing fear among Europeans of a perceived Islamic threat to their cultural identities, driven in part by immigration from predominantly Muslim nations”.

And it concludes: “An overwhelming majority of the surveyed populations in Europe believe greater interaction between Islam and the West is a threat.” Backbench Tory MP David Davies told the Sunday Express: “I am not surprised by these findings. TRIBUNE DE GENÈVE: Le président français Nicolas Sarkozy, en visite d'Etat en Inde, s'est rendu samedi au célèbre mausolée Taj Mahal près de la ville d'Agra, mais sans sa compagne Carla Bruni.

L'absence de l'amie du chef de l'Etat a été confirmée auprès de la présidence française et de responsables indiens, après plusieurs jours de rumeurs jamais commentées officiellement ni par Paris, ni par New Delhi.

Carla Bruni "n'a pas été vue dans l'entourage du président", a indiqué un responsable officiel indien accompagnant M. Sarkozy.

Ce dernier était suivi d'une imposante délégation française et indienne, mais sans Carla Bruni, a indiqué un photographe de l'AFP.

Le célèbre monument en marbre blanc était entièrement fermé aux touristes et sous haute sécurité. Sept autobus électriques --compte tenu de l'interdiction des véhicules à moteur autour du Taj Mahal endommagé par la pollution-- ont acheminé la délégation jusqu'au mausolée.
