Trump’s ICE Shake-up to Expand Mass Deportations and Silence Dissent

Oct 29, 2025 | The Trump administration has launched one of the biggest leadership shake-ups in U.S. immigration history — replacing half of the top Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials with Border Patrol veterans. Reports say frustration inside the White House over slow deportation numbers — and a push to integrate more militarized Border Patrol tactics into ICE’s operations. Critics warn it’s a step toward a nationalized deportation force.

Trump has turned America into a SH**HOUSE! It would have been far better for the Americans (and the rest of the world) if Americans had found their cojones to incarcerate the criminal BEFORE he could do all this damage to the lives of Americans and the fabric of the nation. Had Americans been better judges of character, they'd have known better what to do with the man. — © Mark Alexander

False Claims Online Damaged Brigitte Macron’s Quality of Life, Daughter Tells Court

THE GUARDIAN: Tiphaine Auzière spoke at trial of 10 people accused of harassment by posting claims that French first lady was born a man

Brigitte Macron’s daughter has told a Paris court that false claims online that the French first lady was born a man had damaged her mother’s quality of life, leaving her worrying every day about the clothes she wears and how she stands.

Tiphaine Auzière, 41, a lawyer, was called as a witness at the trial of 10 people accused of online harassment of Brigitte Macron by creating or reposting social media posts falsely claiming she was a man.

Auzière said photographs of her mother, including private summer photos, had been posted online with negative comments. “The consequence is now that she systematically has to pay attention to what she wears, how she holds herself, no matter what she’s doing in her daily life, because she knows that her image can be distorted to serve these attacks.” » | Angelique Chrisafis in Paris | Tuesday, October 28, 2025

Nobody's Girl: Virginia Giuffre's Reckoning for Epstein, Maxwell, & the Billionaire Elite

Oct 28, 2025 | Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s memoir NOBODY’S GIRL: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice -- is more than a book — it’s a final act of truth-telling from a woman who refused to be silenced. In this episode, Rick Wilson honors her story by sitting down with co-author Amy Wallace and Virginia's brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda, to examine how Virginia's courage blew the lid off of Epstein’s network of abuse, power, and complicity. Through her own words, Virginia's voice continues to demand accountability, advocate for survivors, and expose the rot behind the façade of wealth and privilege. Justice for victims only happens when someone refuses to stay silent, and that someone was Virginia. This special episode breaks down what Virginia's story teaches us about resilience, systemic failure, and the ongoing fight for a world where no one else becomes yet another survivor.

Margaret Thatcher: Britain's Iron Lady

Jun 16, 2024 | In this intriguing documentary, we examine the life and career of Britain's first female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. After 1990, Lady Thatcher (as she became known) remained a potent political figure and went on to contribute in many other ways.

In this program we present a portrait of an intensely controversial figure. Critics claim that her economic policies were divisive socially, that she was harsh or 'uncaring' in her politics and hostile to the institutions of the British welfare state. Defenders point to a transformation in Britain's economic performance over the course of the Thatcher Governments and those of her successors as Prime Minister.

Hurricane Melissa makes landfall in Jamaica with violent 185 mph winds | BBC News

Oct 28, 2025 | Hurricane Melissa has made landfall in south-western Jamaica as a category five storm with wind speeds of 185 mph (295 km/h), forecasters have said.

In an update to the country, Minister Desmond McKenzie urged residents to heed safety advice: "This is not the time to be brave... Don't bet against Melissa - it is a bet we can't win”.

A third of the island is experiencing power cuts, said Energy Minister Daryl Vaz - while a forecaster warned things will get "significantly worse".

Hurricane Melissa Closes in on Jamaica | BBC News

Oct 28, 2025 | Hurricane Melissa - the world's strongest storm of the year - is due to make landfall in Jamaica in the next few hours.

Some forecasters say the storm could remain a category five when it reaches the island, although we don't know exactly when it'll make landfall.

Widespread power cuts are already impacting the island, with more than 200,000 without electricity.

Category 5 Hurricane Melissa Heads for Jamaica with Catastrophic and Life-threatening Flooding

Oct 28, 2025 | Hurricane Melissa’s explosive growth into a Category 5 storm highlights how climate change is intensifying tropical cyclones around the world. Scientists say the record-warm Caribbean waters—supercharged by rising global temperatures—acted like fuel, allowing Melissa to rapidly strengthen into a catastrophic hurricane. Warmer oceans provide more energy and moisture to storms, leading to higher wind speeds and heavier rainfall, while rising sea levels worsen storm surge and flooding impacts. Experts warn that as the planet continues to heat up, hurricanes like Melissa are likely to become more frequent, more destructive, and harder to predict, making climate adaptation and emission reductions more urgent than ever.
