HISTORY.COM: On January 26, 1788, Captain Arthur Phillip guides a fleet of 11 British ships carrying convicts to the colony of New South Wales, effectively founding Australia. After overcoming a period of hardship, the fledgling colony began to celebrate the anniversary of this date with great fanfare and it eventually became commemorated as Australia Day. In recent times, Australia Day has become increasingly controversial as it marks the start of when the continent's Indigenous people were gradually dispossessed of their land as white colonization spread across the continent.

The atrocities committed by the Nazis have been widely discussed at a general level since the Second World War. Less attention has been paid to the fact that the perpetrators of the atrocities have kept quiet about their actions to their own descendants.

This wall of silence has descended around the actions that have been done but that have not been handled and talked about within families. The silence has grown these things into problems that will last for generations.

The documentary My Nazi Family opens perspectives on the consequences of silence and why the antisemitism is growing again. This is reflected in the true stories of the three German families, where the past and the present meet in surprising ways.

The documentary deals with themes of hatred, war and violence and is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

May 22, 2023 | Holocaust survivor Celina Biniaz was the youngest female on Oskar Schindler’s famed list. Celina survived the Kraków Ghetto, Nazi labor camps, and Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp before being rescued by Oskar Schindler, the German businessman who saved more than 1,000 Jews from the Holocaust.

Celina, 91, is a longtime friend of USC Shoah Foundation. Both Celina and her mother recorded testimony for USC Shoah Foundation’s Visual History Archive in 1996. For many years after the war, Celina was reluctant to share her story because she feared no one could comprehend what she had been through. That changed in 1994, when Steven Spielberg brought Oskar Schindler’s story to the screen with Schindler’s List and established Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, which later became USC Shoah Foundation.

Celina often says that “Oskar Schindler gave me life, but Steven Spielberg gave me a voice.” Some of Celina’s testimony was included as an extra feature on a DVD release of Schindler’s List, to help fight Holocaust denial. …

Islam Piece Ignores Historical, Biblical Truth

LEBANON DAILY NEWS: Political and moral points of view contained in LDN letters invariably have their genesis either in the Bible (God's truth), which is unequivocal and unchanging, or in a secular humanism, which is man's whimsical, every-changing "truth." Typically, conservative opinions are Biblically based and liberal views are secular. Those truly caught in "No Man's Land" claim to be lukewarm Christians who ignore or try to explain away Biblical truths and teachings.

Quite recently the LDN ignored Biblical truth in promoting Islam as a "religion of peace" having a legitimate place in the community of man. The LDN is a Denver, CO based paper, which all too often espouses the secular humanism of its liberal geographical base.

The one-sided Islamic promotional piece written in the LDN a few weeks ago ignored all historical and biblical truth. God tells us in Genesis that the progeny of Ishmael, who was cast out of his father's (Abraham) tribe as being "a wild ass of a man," (the progeny being Mohammad) would be a curse on mankind forever. Incontrovertible historical truth is that Mohammad was a mass murderer (his personal record being 900 beheadings he performed in a single day), a slave owner and trader, a rapist, a pedophile, who believed women were to be treated as mere property. The Koran and Hadith teaches his followers to be as intolerant and hateful to others as he was. Islam and America cannot ignore the Koran’s written truth that Islam is about world domination and subjugation of all other religions and people in hysterically brutal fashion.
