Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind!

Two very important changes in society spring immediately to mind here: one, the quality of our politicians; and two, women preferring to work and have careers instead of marrying and having babies.

Feminism has so much to answer for! So it must shoulder a lot of blame for the mess we see in society today. Fact number one is you can’t have both babies and careers; you either make babies or you make careers. It’s as simple as that. Fact number two is if you decide not to give birth, then the nation has to ‘import’ the workforce necessary to feed the economy with labour. We can see the rising tensions this causes. However nice foreigners are, these people have different values. If people’s values differ too much, tensions and sometimes violence ensue.

Fact number two is that the calibre of our politicians these days leaves much to be desired. So many politicians are elected to parliament in spite of a total lack of work experience. Many enter parliament straight from university. Moreover, the reason they go into politics is so often to make money for themselves and also to make a name for themselves, instead of making a contribution to the well-being of the nation. The other thing that is so glaringly wrong is the taking of second jobs whilst still an MP. How can a politician do his/her job as an MP properly when so much of their time is taken up by their commitments to their secondary employment? – © Mark Alexander

Tony Blair has defended Labour’s controversial mass immigration policy by claiming that Britain cannot succeed unless it opens its borders to more people from different backgrounds.

The former prime minister said it was 'right’ that the country was made up of different cultures and faiths mixing together.

Mr Blair added that migrants had made Britain 'stronger’ and said those calling for greater curbs on foreigners entering the country were wrong.

His comments come just days after official figures revealed that the population is expected to soar by the equivalent of a city the size of Leeds every year for the next decade.

A defiant Mr Blair insisted his party’s policy on immigration was the right one. Mail Comment: The Sheer Folly of Mass Immigration
MAIL Online: If anything serves as a symbol of how completely and utterly Britain has lost control of her borders, it is the saga of Sangatte.

Between 1999 and 2002, some 60,000 migrants from across the world flocked to the infamous reception centre outside Calais before making a determined assault on Britain's frontiers - via cross-Channel freight trains, underneath the Eurostar, even inside refrigerated container trucks.

The French finally agreed to close it down, but now, in an astonishing U-turn, with more migrants than ever gathering around Calais, Sangatte, it seems, is set to rise again.

Not only has the French immigration minister sanctioned the erection of a network of 'light buildings' to provide food and showers, migrants will also get advice on how to claim asylum once in Britain.

Could there be a more transparent and cynical ploy for France to rid itself of its own immigration problems?

Under the 1951 Geneva Convention, refugees are supposed to claim asylum in the first safe country they land in.

But as the world plunges deeper into recession, Britain becomes more than ever the promised land.

It speaks volumes for our generous welfare payments and lax policing of immigration that migrants are prepared to ignore the 'hospitality' of Spain, Italy and France in their desperation to come here.

The rebirth of Sangatte comes as a survey predicts that by 2050, Britain will have the largest immigrant population of any country outside North America and our population will be greater than Germany['s].

This is no longer an issue about race, or the rights and wrongs of asylum.

With Britain hurtling into depression and mass unemployment, it is nothing less than criminally irresponsible for the Government to allow this level of unchecked mass immigration.

'Economic Benefits of Mass Immigration Are Close to Zero', Lords Told
MAIL Online: The economic benefits from record levels of immigration to Britain are 'small and close to zero', the Lords was told today.

A report by a committee of peers, including two former Chancellors and several former Cabinet ministers, called on ministers to set an 'explicit target range' for immigration and make rules to keep within that limit.

Tory former Cabinet Minister Lord Wakeham said the report by the Economic Affairs Committee, which he chaired, rejected the Government's claim that immigration is needed to prevent labour shortages as 'fundamentally flawed'.

He told peers the Government had said immigrants brought large economic benefits to the UK in boosting economic growth, filling job vacancies that Britons could not or would not do and paying more tax than British-born workers.

But there was no evidence of such benefits, which had been 'wildly overstated' by ministers.

In a debate on the report, Lord Wakeham said: 'The committee found no evidence of these large economic benefits.

'What we did find was serious flaws in the Government's arguments and we concluded that on average the economic benefits of immigration were small and close to zero.'

The report found certain groups in Britain - the low-paid, some ethnic minorities and some young people looking for a foot on the job ladder - may have suffered because of competition from immigrants.

It said ministers should set an 'explicit target range' for immigration and set the rules to keep within that limit.
And it raised the prospect of cutting the number of partners and other family members allowed to settle in Britain because a relative is already here. >>> | November 14, 2008

Immigration Is Out of Control
DAILY EXPRESS: SHOCKING new figures last night revealed the extent to which the country’s immigration policy is running out of control.

It is now clear that 2.3million people have been allowed to flock through the “open door” into Britain.



Most of the newcomers have arrived from outside the EU, making a mockery of Government claims that an annual cap on migrants would have a limited effect. Critics said the influx – equivalent to the entire population of Greater Manchester – has put a massive drain on public services.



It has also forced up the tax burden on already hard-pressed families and seen police forces pleading for more cash to deal with gangs of foreign criminals.



The figures come two weeks after the Daily Express revealed that a record number of British passports are now being handed out to immigrants settling here.



Tory MP Philip Davies said: “Immigration is having a dramatic effect on our public services. It’s one of the biggest reasons we’re having to build so many new houses and concrete over the country.



“The quicker the Conservatives can get in and get a hold of the problem the better. Mass immigration is making all services scarcer and more expensive in terms of tax.” The latest picture follows analysis of official immigration statistics by Migrationwatch UK.

Chairman Sir Andrew Green said: “As public concern has increased, supporters of immigration have tried to give the impression that the majority come from the new EU member states and that, in time, as their economies improve they will return home – thus implying that public fears are groundless.
