Prosecutorial Discretion: When Justice Becomes Punishment. Emily Galvin Almanza Explains

Sep 27, 2025 | Why is the president posting private DMs on Truth Social that appear to pressure prosecutors into targeting political enemies? Defense attorney Emily Galvin Almanza explains how America’s criminal justice system often punishes people long before they’re convicted — and sometimes even if they’re innocent.

She dives into key issues like civil forfeiture, prosecutorial discretion, charge stacking, bail debt, eviction, job loss, and the stigma of accusation. You’ll learn how prosecutors can use their power to pressure people into guilty pleas, silence dissent, and avoid jury trials — all while ordinary families lose homes, savings, and livelihoods.

This conversation exposes the hidden costs of being accused: the loss of freedom, crushing legal debt, and a system designed to grind people down. Whether it’s political prosecutions or ordinary citizens caught in the process, Emily shows why the presumption of innocence is not enough to protect us.

If you care about civil liberties, due process, and government accountability, this is a must-watch.

Michael Lambert: Trump's UN Speech - Does He Really Believe What He Is Saying?

Sep 27, 2025 | Donald Trump’s latest speech to the United Nations was a mix of self-praise, exaggeration, and delusion. In this video, I read key excerpts from his United Nations address that left world leaders laughing and shaking their heads. Rather than showing strength, Trump revealed his obsession with his own ego and his detachment from reality.

Netanyahu’s UN Israel–Nazi Germany Comparison Will Haunt Him: Marwan Bishara

Sep 27, 2025 | Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara says Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s latest UN address was likely to have been received “badly” globally, and probably even “alienated” Western allies.

“There is a total rejection of Netanyahu’s tone,” Bishara said. He argued that Netanyahu’s confrontational approach undermined allies who had recently recognised Palestinian statehood after “30 years of failed peace process”.

Bishara described the Israeli leader’s rhetoric as outdated and repetitive, adding that Netanyahu was “recycling old sound bites” that were not working out anymore.

“They fall flat … and the only people who would clap for him are his minions,” he said. “I think he got the wrong stack today. This is a speech that you give to Congress, not a speech you give to the United Nations, where people know what Israel’s crimes are.”

Democracy Now! Where Are the Detainees? Hundreds of "Alligator Alcatraz" Prisoners Disappear from ICE Database

Sep 25, 2025 | Hundreds of people who were once detained at the troubled immigration jail in the Florida Everglades, dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz," have disappeared. Democracy Now! speaks with Shirsho Dasgupta, a Miami Herald reporter who found that, as of late August, about two-thirds of the 1,800 immigrants who were held there in July have gone missing from ICE's online database, with their families and attorneys unable to locate them. Earlier this month, a federal appeals court ruled the jail could continue to operate despite reports of abuse.

"What we're seeing at Alligator Alcatraz is basically a new model of immigration detention, where a state-run facility is operating as an extrajudicial black site, completely outside of the previous models of immigration detention in this country. And it's making what was already a terrible system somehow even worse," says Thomas Kennedy, policy analyst at the Florida Immigrant Coalition.

Trump’s Immigration Crackdown: Non-criminal Immigrants Now Largest Group in ICE Detention

Sep 27, 2025 | New DHS data reveals that immigrants with no criminal record now make up the largest share of people in U.S. immigration detention for the first time under Donald Trump’s second administration. Nearly 60,000 are currently being held nationwide, with growing numbers of “collateral arrests” sweeping up individuals who have lived peacefully in the U.S. for years.

"Betrayal" | Virginia Giuffre's Family Label Maxwell's Prison Move "An Abuse of Power"

Sep 26, 2025 | The family of Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent accusers of Jeffrey Epstein, has spoken out in an emotional interview with BBC Newsnight, calling for the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, to lose her royal title after revelations emerged that she had privately apologised to Epstein and referred to him as a “supreme friend.” The interview follows the news that several charities in the UK and US have severed ties with the Duchess after the leaked email came to light. Epstein, a convicted paedophile, had already been found guilty at the time the email was sent.

Britain’s Place Is with Europe, Not America

MARK ALEXANDER: What is going on in America right now is nothing less than a SHITSHOW!

To think that we have given up our membership of the European Union to align ourselves with that chaotic, catastrophic, autocratic, tyrannical SHITSHOW truly beggars belief!

We can thank Cameron for calling that STUPID, COWARDLY referendum, that self-serving DICKHEAD otherwise known as Nigel Fags, and that clown extraordinaire, BoJo for the ensuing loss of prosperity!

If Keir Starmer really wants to inject life into his failing government, he needs to recognise that this country is crying out for the recognition of the GRAVE mistake we Brits have made in voting for the losers’ Brexit. He needs to assure the people that he will do all he possibly can to reverse the ridiculous decision to leave the European Union.

If Starmer adopted such a strategy, Starmer’s task ahead would be difficult; but the difficulties would not be insurmountable.

We Brits are Europeans. We are not Americans. In fact, we have LITTLE in common with Americans other than language and the desire to make money. But our values are certainly European. Our Royal Family is European, too; and so many Brits worship the Royal Family.

If the people of this country want to retain their SOVEREIGNTY, then we, as a nation, need to re-join the European Union as soon as is humanly possible. Long live the United Kingdom! Long live the European Union!
