The Interview: What Does Tucker Carlson Really Believe? I Went to Maine to Find Out.

THE NEW YORK TIMES: Tucker Carlson has been at the center of our political conversation and conservative media for a decade now. Few media figures are more closely identified with the Trump era. His hugely popular Fox News show started just after the 2016 election, and despite being fired by that network in 2023, Carlson has remained a Trumpworld fixture, launching his own network, boosting Donald Trump on his podcast and at campaign rallies, sitting in Trump’s box during the Republican National Convention and attending his inauguration.

Then, in February, President Trump made the call to attack Iran alongside Israel, a decision that Carlson is completely opposed to. He now says he regrets supporting Trump and has become a vocal and influential critic of the administration on his show. He also blames Israel for making Trump a “slave” by, as he characterizes it, pushing the president into war. Because of this focus on Israel, and his high-profile interview of the white nationalist influencer Nick Fuentes, critics have accused him of antisemitism.

To understand this break with the president and more, I traveled to Maine to sit down with Carlson, and then we spoke again remotely a few days later. We had a wide-ranging conversation about his views on the war, his Fuentes episode, his friendship with Vice President JD Vance and, more surreally, whether he thinks Trump is the Antichrist — something he’s been musing about on his show. » | Lulu Garcia-Navarro | Saturday, May 2, 2026

» | Peter Steiniger | Mittwoch, 22. April 2026

Tucker Carlson Says He Is ‘Tormented’ by His Past Support for Trump

THE NEW YORK TIMES: “I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people,” said the conservative commentator, who has broken sharply with the president over the war with Iran.

Tucker Carlson, who was often at Donald J. Trump’s side during the 2024 presidential campaign, is now expressing remorse for that support, saying he will long be “tormented” by his role helping Mr. Trump return to the White House.

Mr. Carlson, a titan of conservative media who has broken sharply with Mr. Trump over the war with Iran, acknowledged that he was part of the “reason this is happening right now,” referring to the conflict.

“It’s not enough to say, well, I changed my mind — or like, oh, this is bad, I’m out,” Mr. Carlson said in an episode of his podcast released Monday.

“It’s a moment to wrestle with our own consciences,” Mr. Carlson said on the podcast, speaking with his brother, Buckley, a former speechwriter for Mr. Trump. “We’ll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people.”

Mr. Carlson, a former Fox News host and a longtime opponent of American foreign interventions, has feuded with Mr. Trump and his allies for weeks over the war, which most Americans oppose, according to opinion polls.

He appeared particularly appalled by a threat Mr. Trump made to Iran on social media on Easter Sunday that the country would be “living in hell” if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz, the vital shipping route that has been clogged during the war. After the post, Mr. Carlson urged White House officials to stand up to the president, saying that Mr. Trump’s behavior was “evil.” » | Tim Balk | Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Tucker Carlson Splits with Trump over Iran | Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg

Apr 12, 2026 | US conservative commentator and podcaster Tucker Carlson has outlined his opposition to Donald Trump’s military action against Iran in an interview with Victoria Derbyshire for the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg show.

Tucker Carlson said he believes the United States went to war with Iran "at the behest and then the demand of Israel". Carlson also accused the Israeli government of committing a genocide in Gaza, a charge the Israeli government strongly denies. The UN's top court the International Court of Justice has not yet made a determination as to whether Israel's actions in Gaza amount to genocide.

Victoria Derbyshire challenged Tucker Carlson on allegations of antisemitism, and on his interview with far right activist Nick Fuentes, who has praised Hitler and questioned the Holocaust.

'Not America First!' Tucker Carlson on Iran, Trump, Ben Shapiro, Cruz & More

Mar 13, 2026 | The so-called ‘MAGA War’ was red hot long before the Iran War began - but now it’s ramped up even more, with Tucker Carlson visiting President Trump in the Oval Office a couple of times to try and talk him out of it. And the other side would rather you didn’t talk about Israel at all, unless it’s to express unconditional support…

That battle of ideas is going nowhere fast, which is why presidential hopeful Ted Cruz sensationally branded Tucker ‘the most dangerous demagogue’...

Tucker joins Piers Morgan to further discuss his thoughts on the war, his meetings with Trump and his feelings about Cruz and more.

Tucker Carlson on Cigarette Smoking

His impassioned rant.

I agree with Tucker Carlson’s every word! Smoking is sexy and cool. Moreover, this second-hand smoke BS is just that: bullshit! Tucker is also right about people’s health today. People today are no healthier for not smoking. If anything, they are unhealthier. Why? Because they are pigging out on junk food and taking drugs as substitutes. Bring smoking back into fashion! Make smoking cool again! – © Mark Alexander
