FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG: Die Koranverbrennung eines in Schweden lebenden Irakers hat internationale Empörung und Proteste ausgelöst. Nun kündigt der Mann eine weitere Aktion an. Die Polizei ermittelt wegen Hetze.

Ungeachtet der empörten internationalen Reaktionen auf eine Koranverbrennung in Stockholm hat der dafür verantwortliche Iraker angekündigt, ein weiteres Koran-Exemplar zu verbrennen. Der Zeitung „Expressen“ sagte Salwan Momika am Donnerstag, er habe gewusst, dass seine Aktion Reaktionen hervorrufen würde. One Killed and Several Injured in Stockholm as Rollercoaster Derails

THE GUARDIAN: Witnesses say Jetline ride, which reaches 55mph and heights of 30 metres, partly left the tracks

One person has been killed and nine injured, including children, in a rollercoaster accident at an amusement park in Stockholm.

Witnesses said the Jetline ride at the Gröna Lund theme park had partly derailed during a ride on Sunday, sending people crashing to the ground.

‘Lack of Public Debate on Immigration Caused Stockholm Riots’
RT: Sweden should put its political correctness aside and start an open debate on immigration as it’s the only way to avoid a repeat of the Stockholm riots, Mishra Mrutyuanjai, Swedish Democrats movement member, told RT.

Stockholm is reeling as two schools, a police station and dozens of cars were set ablaze in the fifth night of riots.

Twelve people were arrested as rioters and police clashed with stone throwing youths in poor, largely immigrant districts of the Swedish capital.

Sweden could be paying a tough price for its policies on immigrants and multiculturalism. A Stockholm suburb erupted into violence for a few hours, as crowds of angry, masked youths from migrant families burned cars, smashed windows and hurled stones at police officers.

Man Arrested in Glasgow over Stockholm Suicide Bombing
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: A British resident has become the first person arrested in connection with the Stockholm suicide bombing, police said today.

The 30-year-old man was detained in Glasgow in connection with the attack in Sweden in December last year.

The foreign national was arrested under the Terrorism Act shortly after 6am in the Whiteinch area of the city.

It is alleged the man was involved in aiding terrorists in Sweden, but is not Swedish.

FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG: Nach dem misslungenen Terroranschlag in Stockholm trumpfen die Rechtspopulisten in Schweden auf und fordern eine „offene Debatte“; die Gefahr müsse endlich ernst genommen werden. Islamistischen Fundamentalisten sei in Schweden ein „roter Teppich“ ausgerollt worden.

Am Tag nach dem Terroranschlag von Stockholm legte Fredrik Reinfeldt auf eine Feststellung besonderen Wert. „Es ist wichtig“, sagte der Ministerpräsident, „dass wir unsere offene Gesellschaft verteidigen und keine voreiligen Schlüsse ziehen.“ Anderenfalls drohten unerwünschte Spannungen in der schwedischen Gesellschaft. Doch die rechtspopulistischen Schwedendemokraten, seit der Wahl vom September im Reichstag vertreten, wollten nicht warten. Sie verlangten „eine aktuelle Debatte im Parlament über gewaltbereiten islamischen Extremismus“ – und zwar „aufgrund des großen öffentlichen Interesses so schnell wie möglich“.

Parteichef Jimmie Åkesson forderte im „Svenska Dagbladet“ eine offene Debatte; die Gefahr müsse endlich ernst genommen werden. Doch die Bereitschaft der anderen Parteien, die Diskussion tatsächlich offen und mit den Schwedendemokraten zu führen, dürfte spätestens dann versiegt sein, als deren Parteisekretär Björn Söder der gesamten politischen Konkurrenz vorwarf, sie hätten den islamischen Fundamentalisten in Schweden „den roten Teppich“ ausgerollt. Johan Linander von der mitregierenden Zentrumspartei gab sich empört. THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: The outlawed Islamist group al-Muhajiroun is openly recruiting near the home of the suicide bomber who blew himself up on a Stockholm street last week, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

MI5 and anti-terrorist police are attempting to unravel what transformed the father of three into an extremist.

But moderate Muslims in Luton, where Iraqi-born Taimour Abdulwahab lived for almost 10 years, claim the authorities are to blame for turning a blind eye to the activities of hard-core jihadi sympathisers.

Unimpeded by the police, the group, now calling itself The Reflect Project, is accused of mounting a campaign of intimidation and violence against those who disagree with it.

LE FIGARO: Stockholm est devenu jeudi la 25e capitale européenne à ratifier le nouveau traité.

Les parlementaires suédois étaient réunis jeudi en session pour donner leur feu vert au traité de Lisbonne. Un projet de loi du gouvernement ayant reçu l'aval de la commission des Affaires étrangères, la ratification n'a pas rencontré d'obstacle malgré l'opposition, minoritaire, des Verts et de la gauche.

Cette étape franchie, Stockholm devient la 25e capitale de l'Union à avaliser le nouveau traité européen.
