ADVOCATE: “This is an entire month set aside to celebrate a lifestyle that God defines as sin,” the homophobic religious leader wrote on Facebook at the end of Pride Month.
Right-wing preacher Franklin Graham says celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride is like celebrating “lying, adultery, or murder.”
Graham’s comment came in a Facebook post Saturday, marking the end of Pride Month. He quoted the BBC as saying “Pride has gone mainstream” and went on to lament that fact. “This is an entire month set aside to celebrate a lifestyle that God defines as sin,” he said.
“The Bible also tells us that God hates pride,” he continued. “Shame on the nation that celebrates and glorifies sin.” He noted that everyone sins, but added, “Instead of celebrating and taking pride in our sin, we should come to God, our Creator, in repentance, asking Him to forgive us and cleanse us.”
Graham, who heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, founded by his late father, has a long history of anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric, delivered supposedly in the name of Christianity. » | Trudy Ring | Tuesday, July 6, 2021
Isn’t it also a sin to make gazillions on the back of Jesus Christ, Mr. Graham? Jesus lived the simple life: he didn’t live high on the hog! Interestingly, Jesus said zippo about homosexuality. Moreover, if you are going to use Leviticus from the Old Testament to justify your bigotry, then you should also condemn so many other things that people do, too, including eating shellfish, adorning one’s body with tattoos, piercing one’s body, and men wearing make-up (see above)! (I very much doubt that Jesus wore make-up before making speeches to his followers as you do, Mr Graham.) I should ask you a very pertinent question: As a fervent Trump supporter, weren't you also supporting "sin" when you supported him? How many sex scandals has Trump allegedly been involved in? So, Mr Graham, let’s have a little consistency apropos of this topic, please. – © Mark

Franklin Graham Blames Terror Attacks on Islam, Sends Team of Chaplains to Paris
THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER: Six French-speaking chaplains should arrive Monday to work with church, Christian groups / Graham says ‘Islam is at war with us’ and calls for restricting Muslim immigration / Muslim groups in Charlotte and around world condemn attacks, say ISIS is contrary to true Islam
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is sending a rapid-response team of chaplains to Paris.
The move comes as Franklin Graham, who heads the Charlotte-based group, continues to make waves by blaming the latest ISIS terror attacks on the religion of Islam and calling for restricting Muslim immigration to the United States.
“In the hours after the horrific attacks, some said ‘Terrorism has no religion.’ Do not be fooled. ... In this case, terrorism does have a religion – its name is Islam and its god is Allah,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post Saturday. “Islam is at war with us – we’ve witnessed its evil face firsthand over and over.”
In a second Facebook post Saturday, Graham reiterated his call for reform of America’s immigration policies to exclude Muslims. “We cannot allow Muslim immigrants to come across our borders unchecked while we are fighting this war of terror,” he wrote. “If we continue to allow Muslim immigration, we’ll see much more of what happened in Paris – it’s on our doorstep.” » | Tim Funk | Sunday, November 15, 2015

Franklin Graham Condemns Obama's Guest List for Papal Welcome as 'Sinful'
CHRISTIAN POST: White House Invitation to Transgender Activists, Gay Bishop, Abortion Supporter Irks Vatican
Evangelist Franklin Graham has called President Obama's guest list for Pope Francis' welcome this week "disgraceful and obviously inappropriate," even as the Vatican has reportedly objected to the White House's invitation to transgender activists, an openly gay bishop and supporters of abortion and euthanasia.
The guest list for a planned event at the White House's South Lawn to welcome the pope on his first full day in the U.S. on Wednesday includes Sister Simone Campbell, executive director of Network, a "Catholic social justice lobby" which allegedly supports abortion and euthanasia; Bishop Gene Robinson, former Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire who is the first openly gay Episcopal bishop in the country; Mateo Williamson, a former co-head of the transgender caucus of Dignity USA; and also activists from the LGBT group GLAAD.
"This is disgraceful and obviously inappropriate," Graham wrote on his Facebook page Saturday. "Is there no end to the lengths the president will go to in order to push his sinful agenda?"
Graham, who leads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said it is wise of the Vatican to "question President Obama's guest list" and that the list of guests "should raise a lot of eyebrows."

Franklin Graham Says Sharia Law Should Be Banned in All Free Countries
CHRISTIAN TODAY: American evangelist Franklin Graham truly believes that the Sharia law should be banned in the United States and other countries that "cherish freedom and liberty."
After reading an article published by the BBC about life under radical Islam, Graham said his stand against the Sharia law became clearer than ever, and he shared his thoughts about it on his Facebook page.
"Some Western governments are actually considering allowing Sharia law in certain Muslim communities in their countries — can you believe it? ISIS is imposing Sharia law on hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and Syrians who want to be free. Women are oppressed, Christians and minorities are persecuted and murdered, homosexuals are tortured and killed," he lamented. » | Czarina Ong | Saturday, June 13, 2015

Franklin Graham: ‘Folks In Garland Were Wrong’
WND: Faith leader says 'Draw Muhammad' event went too far
Franklin Graham, one of the world’s best-known Christian evangelists and the head of the nonprofit Samaritan’s Purse, said in a Wednesday morning Fox & Friends interview the “folks in Garland were wrong” to hold their “Draw Muhammad” event. ”
As a Christian, I don’t like it when people mock my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said. “What this event was doing in Texas was mocking Islam. I disagree with [them].” Graham said today’s society is lacking in civility and the “folks in Garland were wrong” to further that tone. “I think we need to show respect and civility,” he said.
“We need to respect one another … and those that believe differently [from my faith], I’m not going to mock them.”
Graham then condemned the radicalized element of Islam for attacking those outside their faith, and doubled down on remarks made earlier – reported by WND – that the United States should put a hold on allowing anyone into this country who’s coming from a nation with known terrorist cells.
“It’s wrong to prefer violence, period,” he said. “The Muslims have no right to go around shooting people because someone mocks them. … We should not be allowing immigration into this country from any countries that have active terrorist cells.”
Just Tuesday, Graham weighed in on the Texas shootings with a Facebook post saying the god of Islam is not the “God of the Bible,” or of Christianity. » | Cheryl Chumley | Wednesday, May 06, 2015

Franklin Graham: 'Halt All Immigration of Muslims' From Terror Nations
The Rev. Franklin Graham, who heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, also wants the government to take "immediate military action" to crush ISIS.
"We should make sure our government and the current administration recognizes Islam for the danger it is, and that they are doing all they can to work against it," Graham writes in a Facebook post Monday.
"Out [sic] government needs to immediately look at immigration reform to halt all immigration of Muslims from countries that have active terrorist cells — the threat this poses to our nation is huge and could end up costing thousands of lives in the future if we don’t act now."
He adds the second-most important thing the government must do is "take immediate military action to defeat ISIS." » | Cathy Burke | Monday, April 20, 2015

Franklin Graham: Muslims Kill Christians to Emulate Muhammad
"Muhammad was a man of war and he killed many people," Graham told Tucker Carlson on "Fox & Friends Weekend" on Sunday. "Jesus Christ came as a man of peace, and as a follower of Christ I follow him and I want to emulate Him. But the followers of Islam are emulating the prophet Muhammad, and that’s what you’re seeing carried out."
"We have to be very careful and understand that Islam — the teachings of Islam — are militant," the president of the Samaritan's Purse charity said. " I’m talking about, when you read the Quran, when you read the Surra, it’s very militant."
According to Graham, one of the reasons for the rise of Christian persecution in the Middle East was the fall of the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
"When Iraq was invaded by our country — and I’m not saying this was right or wrong, I’m just saying it’s a fact — there was a large Christian minority. Saddam Hussein gave them quite a lot of freedom," he explained.
"But when that government fell and the new government came to power, the Islamists in the country, al-Qaida and others, began to attack and burn churches," Graham said.
"We’ve seen that happen throughout Iraq, and now it’s happening in Syria," he explained.
And now as a result, "the Christian community is being slaughtered by the Muslims, and they’re being forced to leave," he said. » | Courtney Coren | Monday, March 09, 2015

Franklin Graham Says Obama's 'Sympathy to Islam' Will Lead to Christian and Jewish Persecution in America
"There are Muslims that have access to him in the White House. Our foreign policy has a lot of influence now, from Muslims. We see the prime minister of Israel being snubbed by the president and by the White House and by the Democrats and it's because of the influence of Islam. They hate Israel and they hate Christians, and so the storm is coming, I believe," Graham told Gordon Robertson, host of CBN's "The 700 Club" interactive program.
Graham further pointed out that Obama had a Muslim father, and that as a child the president went to school in Indonesia, which has the largest Islamic population in the world.
"So, growing up his frame of reference and his influence as a young man was Islam. It wasn't Christianity, it was Islam," the evangelist said.
Graham has criticized Obama's foreign policy on a number of occasions, including the president's refusal to call terror group ISIS "Islamic."
"The truth is — their barbaric murderers openly said they killed them because they were 'people of the cross.' Why is the president seemingly continuing to protect Islam and refusing to open his eyes to the truth?" Graham asked when an initial statement by the White House in February failed to identify the 21 Copts beheaded by ISIS as Christians. » | Stoyan Zaimov, The Christian Post | Tuesday, March 03, 2015

Franklin Graham: New Obama Danger for Christians
WND: 'The storm is coming, I believe'
Globally known evangelist Franklin Graham says President Obama is so sympathetic to those of the Muslim faith, he’s actually endangering Jews and Christians, opening the doors for them to be persecuted in the United States.
“We’re going to see persecution in this country because our president is very sympathetic to Islam, and the reason I say that … is because his father was a Muslim, gave him a Muslim name, Barack Hussein Obama,” Graham said in an interview on “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network.
“His mother married another Muslim man. They moved to Indonesia. He went to Indonesian schools. So, growing up, his frame of reference and his influence as a young man was Islam. It wasn’t Christianity; it was Islam.”
Graham’s remarks aren’t much of a surprise to those who listen to him frequently. He’s been an outspoken critic of Obama’s presidential policies and has decried what he’s characterized as a curious White House reach-out to Muslim groups, such as the Muslim Brotherhood. » | Cheryl Chumley | Monday, March 02, 2015

Franklin Graham: Obama 'Only Knows Islam, and He Has Given a Pass to Islam'
The Rev. Franklin Graham said to a Fox News audience that President Obama is seriously understating the Islam tie to recent acts of terrorism around the world - but no wonder, he "only knows Islam." The context of the discussion was the White House's failure to use the term "radical Islam" when describing Islamic State and…
