Donald Trump: Obama Is A 'Threat To Our Country'

Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accused President Barack Obama of being a ‘threat to our country’ in response to a question on whether he thought Obama was a threat to national security. Trump was speaking to Jeff Kuhner on Boston’s WRKO-AM on Wednesday. The subject came up in the context of Obama’s failure to adequately deal with the Islamist terrorist group ISIS. Kuhner first asked Trump if he though Obama should resign over his mishandling of the Middle East, but Trump did not answer, instead he spoke about Obama’s failures in that part of the world. Kuhner then asked Trump about Obama being a threat to national security. Trump answered that question directly.

'Secret' German Plan to Resettle 500,000 Syrian Refugees across Europe Unveiled This Week

EXPRESS: SECRET plans to bring up to 500,000 Syrian refugees into the European Union (EU) from Turkey are to be unveiled by Germany this week.

According to the Hungarian prime minister, EU and Turkish leaders are set to announce a behind-the-scenes agreement to resettle hundreds of thousands of people displaced by the war in Syria.

It is not known how many of the 500,000 will arrive in Britain, but fears have been raised that a significant number could be drawn to the UK by its relatively generous welfare system.

It comes just days after the EU agreed a €3billion (£2.1bn) funding package for Turkey in return for their help in stemming the flow of migrants passing through on their way to Europe.

Hungary's PM Viktor Orban warned of a "nasty surprise" for Europeans when the deal is announced in the coming days.

He said: "The issue [of resettlement] will be a hot potato in the coming period because even though this could be kept in a semi-secret state...someone somewhere - I think in Berlin this week - will announce that 400,000-500,000 Syrian refugees could be brought straight from Turkey to the EU.

"This nasty surprise still awaits Europeans." » | Tom Batchelor | Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Belgium: EU and Turkey Agree €3bn Package for Syrian Refugees, Confirms Tusk

President of the European Council Donald Tusk confirmed on Sunday that a “major step towards changing the rules of the game when it comes to stemming the migration flow that is coming to the EU via Turkey” is coming from a joint press conference with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker following the Heads of States of the European Union with Turkey meeting.

Raymond Ibrahim: Obama’s Love for Jihadis and Hate for Christians

JIHAD WATCH: Obama recently lashed out against the idea of giving preference to Christian refugees, describing it as “shameful”: “That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion,” loftily added the American president.

Accordingly, the administration is still determined to accept 10,000 more Syrian refugees, almost all of whom will be Muslim, despite the fact that some are ISIS operatives, while many share the ISIS worldview (as explained below).

Yet right as Obama was grandstanding about “who we are,” statistics were released indicating that “the current [refugee] system overwhelmingly favors Muslim refugees. Of the 2,184 Syrian refugees admitted to the United States so far, only 53 are Christians while 2,098 are Muslim.”

Aside from the obvious—or to use Obama’s own word, “shameful”—pro-Muslim, anti-Christian bias evident in these statistics, there are a number of other troubling factors as well. » | Raymond Ibrahim | Monday, November 23, 2015

Ben Carson: Screen Syrian Refugees Like They're Rabid Dogs

Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson says in Alabama on Thursday that stopping militants posing as Syrian refugees from entering the US was like handling rabid dogs. Carson is among the GOP hopefuls who have called for the US to close to its borders to Syrian refugees in the wake of last week’s attacks in Paris in which 129 people died

Barack Obama Criticises Republicans Over Syrian Refugees

Barack Obama says some of the language used by Republicans after the Paris attacks only serves to strengthen Islamic State. During a visit to the Philippines on Wednesday, the president criticises those who use the Paris attacks as a reason for the US to deny Syrian refugees asylum

Germany Imposes Surprise Curbs On Syrian Refugees

Berlin decided against setting up 'transit zones' for processing
refugees on Germany's borders with Austria.
THE GUARDIAN: In abrupt U-turn by Merkel government, people fleeing civil war will no longer be granted asylum or refugee status

Angela Merkel has performed an abrupt U-turn on her open-door policy towards people fleeing Syria’s civil war, with Berlin announcing that the hundreds of thousands of Syrians entering Germany would not be granted asylum or refugee status.

Syrians would still be allowed to enter Germany, but only for one year and with “subsidiary protection” which limits their rights as refugees. Family members would be barred from joining them.

Germany, along with Sweden and Austria, has been the most open to taking in newcomers over the last six months of the growing refugee crisis, with the numbers entering Germany dwarfing those arriving anywhere else.

However, the interior minister, Thomas de Maiziere, announced that Berlin was starting to fall into line with governments elsewhere in the European Union, who were either erecting barriers to the newcomers or acting as transit countries and limiting their own intake of refugees.

“In this situation other countries are only guaranteeing a limited stay,” De Maiziere said. “We’ll now do the same with Syrians in the future. We’re telling them ‘you will get protection, but only so-called subsidiary protection that is limited to a period and without any family unification.’” » | Ian Traynor, Europe editor | Friday, November 6, 2015

Donald Trump Says He Will Send All Refugees Back to Syria If Elected President

THE TELEGRAPH: Republican front-runner says Syrian refugees may be Isil fighters in disguise, and if he is elected "they are going back"

Republican US presidential front-runner Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he would send thousands of Syrian refugees back to their home country if he is elected in November.

Mr Trump's remarks to CNN television came the same day Russian warplanes began air raids in Syria's center and north - their first military engagement outside the former Soviet Union since the occupation of Afghanistan in 1979.

"Look, if Russia wants to go in there, would have been nice if we went in as a unified front, to be honest. But if Russia wants to go in there and knock out Isis and maybe stabilize, this big migration with 200,000 people into the United States..." Mr Trump said.

"If I win, I'm going to say it right now and I'll say it to you, those 200,000 people - they have to know this and the world will hear it - are going back. (+ videos) » | AFP, video source APTN | Thursday, October 1, 2015

Saudi Arabia Offers Germany 200 Mosques – One For Every 100 Refugees Who Arrived Last Weekend

THE INDEPENDENT: The kingdom has faced criticism over its response to the crisis

Saudi Arabia has reportedly responded to the growing number of people fleeing the Middle East for western Europe – by offering to build 200 mosques in Germany.

Syria’s richer Gulf neighbours have been accused of not doing their fair share in the humanitarian crisis, with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and the UAE also keeping their doors firmly shut to asylum-seekers. » | Adam Withnall | Friday, September 11, 2015

Saudi Arabia Won’t Take Any Syrian Refugees, But Offers to Build 200 Mosques for Them in Germany

JIHAD WATCH: This tells you all you need to know about the “refugee” crisis in Europe. It is, as I said, a hijrah: a migration for the sake of Allah, to plant Islam in a new land. If they were really refugees, the Saudis would take them. But no, they are invaders, and the Saudis are offering to make things easier for them by providing them with facilities for the invasion — remember, four separate studies since 1998 have shown that 80% of Saudi-funded mosques in the U.S. teach hatred of Jews and Christians and the necessity to replace the Constitution with Sharia. » | Robert Spencer | Thursday, September 10, 2015

Angela Merkel Warns against Intolerance towards Refugees

The German chancellor's visit to the Heidenau refugee centre,
greeted above, by a placard reading "traitor of the people" came
a day after Berlin said it had eased some asylum rules.
THE GUARDIAN: Chancellor dismisses ‘traitor’ jibes from far-right hecklers at Saxony refugee shelter and thanks Germans trying to help asylum seekers

Angela Merkel was met by a barrage of whistles, boos and calls of traitor when she visited an emergency asylum seeker and refugee centre near Dresden. She insisted that hatred towards refugees would not be tolerated.

About 50 protesters had gathered outside the disused DIY store turned reception centre in Heidenau, Saxony, as the German chancellor, on Wednesday, made her first visit to a refugee shelter. Her visit reportedly followed criticism that she had failed to openly condemn recent violence against the large numbers of refugees arriving in Germany.

In a protest organised on social media by far-right groups car horns were blown to try to block out her words. Merkel insisted on the importance of “human and dignified treatment” of asylum seekers. “There will be no tolerance towards those who are not prepared to help,” she said. “The more people that make that clear, the stronger we will be.” » | Kate Connolly in Berlin | Wednesday, August 26, 2015
