Imam Tawhidi Speaks with Pauline Hanson on Muslims in Australia and Those Seeking to Go There

Pauline Hanson caught up with Imam Tawhidi while he visited Brisbane to speak to his supporters in Queensland. He recognises the work Pauline Hanson is doing to try and prevent radical Islam from affecting those Muslims who want to carry on living in peace in Australia. Hanson thinks most people will appreciate the time Imam Tawhidi gave her to sit down and talk about the troubles Australia faces. | May, 17, 2018

George Brandis Attacks Pauline Hanson's 'Appalling' Burqa Stunt

The Australian attorney general, George Brandis, rebukes the One Nation leader, Pauline Hanson, after she enters the Senate wearing a burqa as part of her campaign for it to be banned. ‘Senator Hanson, no, we will not be banning the burqa,’ Brandis says. ‘I can tell you, Senator Hanson, that it has been the advice of each director general of security with whom I have worked and each commissioner of the Australian federal police with whom I have worked that it is vital for their intelligence and law enforcement work that they work cooperatively with the Muslim community and to ridicule that community, to drive it into a corner, to mock its religious garments, is an appalling thing to do and I would ask you to reflect on what you have done.’

Plan to Make It More Difficult for Australians to Criticise Islam and Other Religious Groups If Turnbull Waters Down Race Speech Laws

DAILY MAIL: Victoria's Multicultural Affairs Minister flags tougher religious vilification laws / Robin Scott said he'd make push if Turnbull watered down 18C part of race laws / Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull wants to scrap words 'offend' and 'insult' / Muslim psychologist Hanan Dover described the federal government as 's****'

Victoria is threatening to make it harder to criticise Islam if the Turnbull government waters down race speech laws.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has flagged his intention to scrap the words ‘offend’, ‘insult’ and 'humiliate' from section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act and replace them with the term 'harass'.

In Victoria, it’s already an offence to publish material on the internet or on fliers that might encourage other people to 'hate' or 'ridicule' a particular religious group. Read on and comment » | Stephen Johnson for Daily Mail Australia | Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Pauline Hanson on Islam | A Current Affair | ‘Line Up a Number of Muslims, Who’s the Good One?’

'One Nation' leader Pauline Hanson has claimed Muslims are taking over Australia’s suburbs by offering people “suitcases full of cash” to move out, and questioned whether there are any “good ones” living here.

In an extraordinary interview that appeared to leave even ‘A Current Affair’ host Tracy Grimshaw sis tunned at times, Senator Hanson denied her views were extreme and said she was speaking for ordinary Australians when she voiced fears the country was being overrun by Muslims.

Charges for 'Disrespect' in Australian Court after Accused Rejects Any Authority Other Than Islam

Supreme law courts in Sydney, Australia
THE TELEGRAPH: New South Wales will introduce laws to ban disrespectful behaviour after a 25-year-old man refused to stand in court for four judges

The Australian state of New South Wales will introduce laws to ban “disrespectful behaviour” in court after a devout Muslim charged with attempted murder repeatedly refused to stand, saying he did not recognise the authority of the judiciary.

Milad bin Ahmad-Shah al-Ahmadzai, 25, caused a public outcry – and his conduct was criticised by local Muslim leaders - but authorities said his failure to stand did not appear to be illegal under existing contempt laws.

Al-Ahmadzai has been charged with the vicious beating and shooting of a man outside a gay sex club in Sydney, apparently after the man interrupted an attempt to break into a mechanic business next door to the club.

For the past 18 months, al-Ahmadzai has refused to stand in court, insisting he was “not at the behest of any authority other than Islam”.

Dismissing his conduct as unacceptable, Gabrielle Upton, the state’s attorney-general, said she will introduce legislation early next year to create a new offence for disrespectful behaviour in court. » | Jonathan Pearlman, Sydney | Thursday, December 3, 2015

Army Chaplains to Lose Christian Motto Because It Might Offend Muslims

BREITBART.COM: The Royal Australian Army Chaplains’ Department is to lose their traditional motto held since 1913, because it is offensive to Muslims.

The cap badge and motto of the Australian army chaplains is presently identical to those held by the British army, a legacy and tradition dating back to the founding days of the Australian nation as it established itself as a Dominion independent of Great Britain. Emblazoned on a Maltese cross and wreath in purple and gold, the motto ‘In This Sign Conquer’ is thought to be a reference to the crusades.

Now just five months after a Muslim Imam joined the Australian forces religious advisory committee, that history is to be swept away, reports Australia’s Daily Telegraph. Despite the sudden push for change, there is not thought to presently be a single Australian Muslim chaplain in the army. » | Oliver Lane | Saturday, November 21, 2015

Geert Wilders Visit Down Under: A Success and a Warning to Australia

BREITBART.COM: I was wholeheartedly honoured to attend and speak at the launch of the Australian Liberty Alliance (ALA) in Perth last week. What a fantastic week for a fantastic party. The launch included a keynote speech from Dutch MP Geert Wilders, which ensured the nationwide and international media coverage that the party deserves.

Australia desperately needs the ALA. These are decent people who want to pass on the Australia they know and love to their children.

I had thought prior to my arrival that the Aussies are not quite in the fix we Europeans find ourselves, and while this still remains true, Australia is heading, very rapidly, down the same road as the rest of us – political correctness, left-wing bullying and lies, leaders who refuse to listen to those with concerns about Islamic immigration, and a mainstream media entirely complicit and approving of all of the above.

Some of the coverage of the ALA launch is worth surveying. As is the case here in Europe, mainstream journalism in Australia has decided that the new party is the problem, and not what it wants to oppose. The usual labels of “far-right” are thrown around, and most of the Australian press seems to believe that their country is a shining example of multicultural harmony; despite the overwhelming evidence to suggest otherwise. » | Anne Marie Waters | Thursday, October 29, 2015

Australia: Anti-Islam Party Takes First Steps

Geert Wilders
THE WEST AUSTRALIAN: They want to ban burqas, freeze Muslim immigration and end Australia's “failed experiment” with multiculturalism.

The proudly anti-Islam Australian Liberty Alliance — the nation’s newest political party — also claims that a growing number of Australians want exactly those same things.

“I do believe that people are waking up to the dangers and the problems that will come from increased (Muslim) immigration,” ALA co-founder and political candidate Debbie Robinson said.

“Islam is a problem and if we don't take steps to put laws in place to protect our culture and our society, then we are going to lose our freedom.”

It is a message that many Australians who have watched the rise of radicalism at home and abroad with a growing sense of unease are likely to identify with.

But many more will also find those same views confronting and offensive — none more so than members of Australia's Muslim community who have described the emergence of the ALA as “alarming”. » | Grant Taylor | Sunday, October 25, 2015

'Stop Messing with Australia and Its Society', Grand Mufti Hits Out at Islamic Extremism

ABC – THE WORLD TODAY: KIM LANDERS: But first, Australia's Muslim leaders have denounced extremism saying misguided teachings are being imported to Australia via Twitter and Facebook.

Just a week ago a 15-year-old left the Parramatta mosque in Sydney's west and walked to the New South Wales police headquarters where he shot and killed a police employee.

With anti-Islam protests looming in several cities, the Grand Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, says violent extremism is a rare but serious problem.

Speaking through a translator, he says the root cause has to be examined and addressed by all Australians.

IBRAHIM ABU MOHAMED (translated): Number one, we say to those who supported that, stop messing with Australia and its society. Generally speaking and utterly, we refuse and reject any form of terrorist activities whether this, if it's proven to be a terrorist activity or any other one.

It is not just a religious problem that may have led to these things. It's a religious, ideological, social and other factors that may have contributed to this kind of motivation, and therefore any remedy should include all the factors, all the ingredients of this mix for us to have a proper remedy, not just focusing on the religious part of the story. Female Genital Mutilation Must Happen to Every Girl as Part of Culture, Alleged Victim Tells Court

ABC NEWS: A young girl has described the religious ceremony where she allegedly underwent female genital mutilation (FGM), the New South Wales Supreme court was told.

"It's part of our culture and that has to happen to every girl," she said in a 2012 recording of a police interview aired in court.

The girl's mother, a member of Sydney's Dawoodi Bohra community, is accused of arranging separate FGM procedures on two of her daughters when they were seven years old, between 2009 and 2012.

Dawoodi Bohra is a sect within Shia Islam mostly found in India, Pakistan and Yemen.

Also on trial is a former nurse and midwife who allegedly performed the procedures. » | Claire Aird | Tuesday, September 15, 2015

Australia PM Tony Abbott Urges Regional Action against IS

Australia has introduced new national security measures
including criminalising travel to terror hotspots
BBC AMERICA: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has urged Asia Pacific nations to fight jihadist groups, saying Islamic State (IS) has global ambitions.

At a conference in Sydney on countering terrorist propaganda, he said IS was a death cult with far-reaching tentacles.

Australia says more than 100 of its citizens are fighting with militant jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq.

Last year, Australia raised its threat level to high and has conducted a series of counter-terrorism raids.

The two-day regional security summit includes ministers from 25 countries and executives from Google, Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.

"Daesh [IS] is coming, if it can, for every person and for every government with a simple message: 'Submit or die','" Mr Abbott said in his opening remarks. "You can't negotiate with an entity like this, you can only fight it."

"This is not terrorism for a local grievance, this is terrorism with global ambitions." » | Thursday, June 11, 2015

'A Crime Is a Crime Is a Crime': Tony Abbott Warns No Mercy for Remorseful Jihadis

THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD: Remorseful jihadis who have joined Islamic State but want to return home will be welcomed back only to a jail cell, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has warned.

Three Australians who have joined Islamic State in Syria or Iraq are in talks with the government about potentially returning home.

Officials are suspicious about whether the trio is genuinely reformed and the immediate danger they could pose for embassy staff in the event they were assisted in coming back to Australia.

Mr Abbott said the men would be "arrested, prosecuted and jailed" should they return home, because they could easily "become a terrorist in Australia".

"A crime is a crime is a crime," Mr Abbott said. » | Latika Bourke, Marissa Calligeros | Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Australian Islamic State Doctor Tareq Kamleh's Sudden Change after Mystery Trip in 2013

Australian doctor Tareq Kamleh in the IS propaganda video.
THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD: Australian jihadist doctor Tareq Kamleh morphed suddenly from a partying "playboy" doctor to a strict Muslim after a mysterious camping trip, former colleagues say.

Dr Kamleh, who up until recently was working in the health system in Perth, appeared in a propaganda video for Islamic State released this week where he spruiked its health services and asked other Muslim clinicians to join him.

But before this recent infamy, he was working as a pediatrician at a Mackay hospital in north-east Queensland and it is here that former colleagues say he underwent a seismic shift in his personality.

Known as a partying and drinking playboy who constantly cheated on his girlfriend, Dr Kamleh embraced a fundamental interpretation of the religion of his parents in a few short days in 2013, colleagues said.

"I didn't think we had too many radical fundamentalists up in Mackay."

They said Dr Kamleh stopped drinking alcohol, abstained from sex, grew his beard and withdrew from the friends he had made. » | Tammy Mills, Patrick Hatch and Rachel Olding | Monday, April 27, 2015
