Prince Philip WAS Named in Top-secret FBI Documents about the Profumo Affair in the Early 1960s

THE MAIL ON SUNDAY: His role in one of the most notorious scandals of the 20th century has long been a source of speculation.

Now the Mail on Sunday can reveal that Prince Philip was named in top-secret FBIdocuments about the Profumo affair in the early 1960s.

The papers show the FBI had been told the Duke of Edinburgh was personally 'involved' with Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies, the two women at the centre of the sex scandal that brought down the government.

Files from the US Department of Justice show the crucial memo was written by J Edgar Hoover, then director of the FBI – and it can be revealed after a five-year quest by the MoS seeking relevant documents under American freedom of information laws.

At the heart of the scandal was the married secretary of state for war John Profumo, who had denied in the Commons in March 1963 that he had a sexual relationship with teenage showgirl Keeler. He was forced to resign months later when proof of the affair became public. » |Chris Hastings for The Mail On Sunday | Sunday, July 21, 2024

Trump Suggests He Would Use FBI to Go After Political Rivals If Elected in 2024

GUARDIAN INTERNATIONAL: Trump said: ‘If I happen to be president and I see somebody doing well and beating me very badly, I say go down and indict them’

Donald Trump has suggested he would use the FBI and justice department to go after political rivals should he return to the White House next year in a move which will further stoke fears of what a second period of office for Trump could mean.

Trump made the comments during an interview with the Spanish-language television network Univision. The host Enrique Acevedo asked him about his flood of legal problems saying: “You say they’ve weaponized the justice department, they weaponized the FBI. Would you do the same if you’re re-elected?”

“They’ve already done it, but if they want to follow through on this, yeah, it could certainly happen in reverse,” Trump replied. “They’ve released the genie out of the box.

Prosecuting political rivals is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes and Trump’s remarks are the most candid public revelations so far of the anti-democratic power he would bring to a second term as president. » | Sam Levine | Friday, November 10, 2023

FBI Warned Prominent US Sikhs of Threats after Murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada

GUARDIAN INTERNATIONAL: Revelation comes days after prime minister Justin Trudeau blamed the assassination of the Sikh activist on the Indian government

The FBI warned at least three Americans active in the Sikh community that their lives were in danger in the immediate aftermath of the murder of a Sikh activist in Canada last June.

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau has blamed the apparent assassination on the Indian government, as assessment that has reportedly been backed by Canadian and US intelligence sources and has created a rupture in Ottawa’s relationship with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s government.

The shocking accusation that India carried out an extrajudicial murder on Canadian soil – an allegation that has been denied by India – has prompted a re-examination of threats against Sikh separatists around the world, as well as Sikh activists’ claims of suspicious deaths in the UK and Pakistan in the weeks before the murder. » | Stephanie Kirchgaessner in Washington | Tuesday, September 26, 2023

Trump's "Call to Violence" Against FBI as He Faces Espionage Act Charges Is "Replay" of Jan. 6 Riot

Aug 15, 2022 A search warrant made public on Friday reveals the FBI is investigating former President Donald Trump for three federal crimes, including violating the Espionage Act, obstruction of justice and criminal handling of government records, after removing top-secret documents when they raided former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate last week. Meanwhile, Trump is calling the investigation a hoax, and Republican threats are growing against the FBI. We speak with Karen Greenberg, director of the Center on National Security at Fordham University School of Law, who calls Trump's reaction to the FBI search a "call to violence," setting the stage for a "replay" of January 6. "We really need to try to understand what former President Trump intended to do with this material" despite the backlash, says Greenberg.

What Now for Donald Trump - as His Home Is Raided by FBI?

Aug 9, 2022 Donald Trump was on one of his golf courses in New York when he heard news that the FBI had descended on his lavish Florida home.

The backlash was instant. The former president instantly blamed the Democratic Party, saying they didn't want him to run for the White House again in 2024.

And while Trump's hardcore base were incandescent with anger, his allies in congress threatened retribution against the bureau.

FBI Searches Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home and Seizes Documents

THE GUARDIAN: Sources say the Monday morning search was part of an inquiry into missing White House records after Trump’s presidency

Federal investigators have seized documents from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, according to two sources familiar with the matter, the latest indication of a sharply intensifying criminal investigation by the US justice department into his affairs.

The FBI executed a search warrant at around 9am Monday morning at Trump’s residence, the sources said, as part of an ongoing investigation examining the former president’s potentially unlawful removal and destruction of White House records after he left office last year.

The move by the Justice Department to search Mar-a-Lago over the removal of 15 boxes of presidential records from the White House, including classified documents, as well as the destruction of other materials, marks a dramatic escalation in the inquiry.

“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in a bitter statement on Monday evening, adding: “They even broke into my safe!” » | Hugo Lowell in New York | Tuesday, August 9, 2022
