Messieurs: Napoleon is not your name!

What a package of measures to deal with the gravest situation France is facing since the Nazis moved in! If this is an example of how they acted during WWII, no wonder they just gave in and allowed the Nazis to occupy them! This is cowardice if ever I saw it! Napoleon must be turning in his grave! Come off it! Do you really think that curfews and searches and short prison sentences are going to solve this unholy mess?

And what about you, Monsieur de Villepin? Millions of euros are now to be spent to mollify the insurgents. So when they want even more welfare hand-outs, all they will have to do is riot some more and hold you to ransom!

The measures being taken in France are far too little, and far too late; moreover, they show that the French government has not understood what is really happening in their country. Either that, or they are afraid to deal with the real issue. The real issue is this: the Jihad has come to France! These people are not rioting just because they live in poor ghettos, though, indubitably, this inflames the situation. There is absolutely no doubt about that. But Muslims are going to continue to live in ghettos regardles of how much money they receive. The reason: They refuse to integrate. Non-integrated people are ghettoized by definition, even if the ghettos are rich.

The root cause of this conflict is Islam rising like Pheonix out of the ashes! Islam is on the move throughout the world, determined to dominate, determined to enslave us all! A serious attack was foiled a couple of days ago as far away as Australia. No place is immune from the Jihad these days. Where will it be next? The jihadis are on a roll, and they know it! And who is to say that Al-Qaeda's hand isn't in this somewhere!

So you there in France: You might buy a little time this way, but even that is doubtful. Last night saw the thirteenth night of violence despite the measures taken! There is no end in sight. Be sure of that.

Surely, to deal with a problem, you have to deal with the root causes of that problem. The root causes of this problem is the determination of Islam to take over your country! And take over your country Muslims will if you continue to ignore the problem.

Furthermore, this conflagration in France is proof, if proof were needed, of the failure of the multicultural experiment! There is only room for one culture in France, and that's French culture. Immigrants coming to France - like all other Western countries - should be made to assimilate and adopt the values of the host nation. It is incumbent upon the leaders to ensure that the norms of French life are adhered to; and it is incumbent upon the immigrants to adhere to those norms. If immigrants wish not to live in a similar manner as the hosts, then I would suggest that it would be far better for them to leave!

There is room in one country for but one culture! Cultures always compete; that is the nature of them. They vie for pole position. This is especially true for Islam, since it is the duty of all Muslims, extremists and moderates alike, to ensure that Islam rules the world. So, as Islam grows here in the West, it will vie more and more for pole position. This is inevitable, and no politician and no law - however well-intentioned - will stop this from happening.

One cannot help but wonder whether our beloved democracy is strong enough to deal with the onslaught of Islam! Emergency measures might need to be put in place for us all, and maybe we, as citizens, will have to be prepared to relinquish, temporarily, some of our freedoms for the sake of the survival of our civilization. In France today, some freedoms have had to be relinquished for the time being. But the measures taken are woefully weak. Most surely, for the sake of the safety of innocent people, the military will have to be brought in at some point in the near future. Things cannot be left to spiral out of control like this. It is unfair to the innocent.

Protect your citizens at all costs, Monsieur Chirac, and protect your culture, too. French culture is high culture; the French have given the civilized world a great deal, though we are sometimes reluctant to admit it. Don't let your culture go down the tubes for the lack of the Napoleonic spirit! Europe would be all the poorer for it.

The "Why" Factor and the Reason Why We, nor Most Muslims Will Never Know "Why."

Every school child and journalist learns that a news story should tell the requisite "who, what, and where," and when possible, the "how." "Why" is sometimes included or added later, for motive often can not be established unless investigators care to make an effort to understand. Why events happen in the present are based on why they happened in the past. In many cases historians have done a poor job in explaining the why of events because they could find out. In many cases, personal bias prevented them
from caring to know the "why" of events. Journalists and teachers that now inform the public and school children fail their clients in the same manner.

Troubling comparisons between the spread of Islam and Christianity are circulating in the press. In an attempt to equate the spread of Islam and Sharia through violence and intimidation, journalists and teachers are comparing, rather than contrasting, the history of the spread of two. Even in lands with a Christian history, journalists and teachers perpetuate the idea that Christianity was spread in the name of Christ "according to His message." Nothing could be farther from the truth. They tell the "who, what, and how," but fail to mention the "why."

A bad job has been done by our collective educational and religious systems. Secular and religious curriculae have done us a great disservice by de-emphasizing history and ignoring the "why" factor.

Journalists are telling the "who,what, and how" based on observation. They are using faulty history and faulty social science to explain "why" these events are happening, using biased and incorrect information provided in their own educational experiences.

Islam was founded on and with violence by a brigand that wholeheartedly approved of and mandated the use of violence as the OBLIGATION of Muslims to spread Islam using any means possible. Islam is based on his life, his words, and his followers are inspired by his violent and perverse life, making them the justification for war and the taking of people, goods and lands as booty in the name of and for the sake of Allah.

Christianity is based on the life and words of Jesus Christ who avoided violence and exhorted His followers to do the same. Early Christians spread the word, not through violence nor deception, nor intimidation. At the point that war-like peoples adopted Christianity and did use the spread of the faith as a justification for war. This behavior, is not consistent with the message and example of Christ in the name of and for the sake of God.

Concept: Those that spread Christianity using violence and the sword can not use Christ and His message as justification because the content of message and the example of the messenger, Jesus of Nazareth do not support his message, behavior, and example.

Those that have and continue to spread the message of Mohammed using violence and the sword are justified in doing so because the content of message and the example of the messenger, Mohammed, do support his message, behavior, and example.

Fitzgerald at JihadWatch, "suggests that the French, and Europe in general, study a bit of history, before they decide how to deal with a panoply of issues, including the Muslim presence in Western Europe and Turkey's entry into the EU.

There is no "war of civilizations" today -- just as there was not in 770 A.D., or 840 A.D., or 1453 A.D. For that phrase hides the real truth: the world is not a group of distinct interests -- the Christian and post-Christian West, divided into Catholic and Protestant, the Orthodox, Sinic, and Hindu civilizations (all noted by Huntington). No, it is simply the ancient war of Islam against all non-Muslims. If that war has here and there died down, even for centuries, it is only because the forces of Islam lacked an enemy they could defeat. It was not for want of trying -- for a thousand years Muslim raiders went up and down the coasts of Europe, and in Africa, for a thousand years, seized black African pagans for enslavement. Its conquest of India was a Muslim Jihad...

It was not that Jihad somehow went away. It is just that we, the non-Muslims, failed to recognize what was going on. We failed, and many fail still, to see the ideological roots of Muslim behavior -- a behavior that is remarkably similar in time and space in its treatment of non-Muslims. It would be surprising were it otherwise, for the texts, Qur'an and hadith and sira, have remained the same, in time and space. What would surprise would be if Infidels were treated differently, say, in conquered India from the
way they were treated in conquered Persia, or Mesopotamia. Everywhere, the choices: immediate death, immediate conversion, or dhimmitude were the only possibilities. And if today the Muslim populations in Western Europe and North America pay lip service to pluralism, it is only in order to take advantage of that pluralism until such time as they feel strong enough to pull off the mask, and deal with Infidels as their belief-system tells them to believe with Infidels. Those who, like Gilles Kepel, appear to believe
that some other development, some "new Euro-Islam," will emerge, should be asked to explain just how. Why was there never an emergence of a "new Islam" over 1400 years, in all of the varied lands that Islam conquered -- even in Indonesia? Initially there, because the Islamic conquest was not military but was achieved through Muslim missionaries and traders (also missionaries,
as all Muslims must be), it seemed that in the East Indies, something softer, more syncretistic, might emerge. But we see quite the reverse happening: the more established Islam has become, the fiercer it is with non-Muslims. It was only the Dutch rulers who, for a time, and with the advice of such canny officials as the Orientalist Snouck Hurgronje, who managed to tame or constrain Islam -- a taming, a constraining, that left with the Dutch, and the effects of their rule have by now worn off. Look at all the Christians killed in East Timor, in the Moluccas, in Ambon.

History has taught us many lessons. Our educational systems have failed us. Our religious leaders have failed us. Our journalists and politicians have failed us. They have twisted or omitted facts and concepts in an attempt to mold our thinking.

History has also taught shown us that an ignorant and purposely biased population is easier to manipulate and to manage than one that is informed and taught think and reason. In the West, political and Church leaders, often one in the same, used this
policy to control millions. Western secular leaders haven't lost the use of this population-control tool that, frankly, is in use in all corners of the world.

With an enormous population of the ignorant and illiterate to work with, the leaders of the Muslim world are true masters of the "mind mold." Illiterate, even in their own languages, the majority of Muslims must take information at face value and explanation provided by imam and newscaster. Unable to read and write, they can never investigate to determine the veracity of what they are told. Instructed that such investigation is evil and un-Islamic, inviting the fires of hell for thinking outside the box. Non-Muslims and many Muslims living in the West have no such excuse. Most of us can read and write...and think for ourselves. They can never know why.

Our literacy is not serving us. Unfortunately we are being fed twisted and biased information by our schools, our leaders and journalists, some which is also patently false. This is an outrage. Are we being groomed to become literate, but ignorant masses, no different than the illiterate and ignorant of the earth?

Napoleon died long ago!

Clearly, France is sliding into civil war. Last night saw mayhem all across France in the twelfth night of extreme violence. The best the French cabinet can come up with is the approval of the introduction of curfews, if the local authorities deem curfews necessary. The local authority can now declare a state of emergency, too. Can mark you! Wow! How Draconian these measures are! Further, Dominic de Villepin even went so far as to say that the government would take the necessary measures to re-establish order very quickly throughout France! Monsieur, you'll have to come up with a hell of lot more than this if you want La Belle France to survive!

A state of emergency should be declared across the whole of France - now, since the riots now stretch from North to South and from East to West. The country is in the grip of a civil war. Things are spiralling out of control. Where is the heavy hand of strong government? Where has that Napoleonic spirit disappeared to? Where is that French pride and determination to save the nation? Where is all that intellectuality - you know, what the French have always prided themselves on - to be able to think this thing through?

That this is an extremely grave situation is obvious to all. Now, there have been copycat outbreaks of violence in Belgium (5 cars have been set alight around the Gare du Midi, where Eurostar terminates) and Germany (5 cars have been destroyed in Berlin; six, in Bremen). Recent tensions in the Netherlands, after the murder of Theo van Gogh, will not help to make that country immune from the ire of the Muslim community, either. All this, and not a strong leader in sight!

Here in the United Kingdom we have a lame duck Prime Minister. Chirac in France is no better, especially since the vote on the European constitution, the USA has a President who has yet to convince me that he knows what Islam is all about and who is showing himself to be more of a little pussy at heart rather than that strong, assertive leader he seems to so wish to be!

I wouldn't give you a dime for the damn lot of them! They all want the power, the money and the glory that goes with high office, but none - I repeat, none - has the stomach to take the necessary measures to deal with the Islamization of the West. Islam is growing apace, growing in the West like a cancer in the stage of metastasis: it is metastasizing here and metastasizing there. And the West is in a feeble state, in a state of cachexia, with not a good surgeon for thousands of miles around!

The editor of The Telegraph this morning states that it would be tempting to draw historical comparisons with the events in France in May 1968 and with the revolutions of 1848, but adds that the events are distinguished more by their differences than their similarities. The reason, he states thus: The rioting in France this autumn has no clear political aim beyond an expression of disgust with the government and, in particular, the interior minister, Nicolas Sarkozy. Really! He needs to think again! These riots are indeed politically motivated - motivated by the politics of Islam!

It beggars belief that educated men in the know have yet to get a grip on the reality of what is happening in Europe today. These riots are but the first salvo shot across the bow of Europe! There is evidence aplenty of the intentions of the Islamic communities to turn Europe into Eurabia.

Three books come to mind as I write this: Eurabia, by Bat Ye'or, who describes extremely well, and in erudite fashion, what is going on here; The Rage and the Pride by Oriana Fallaci - another excellent book, and pertinent, because we see the rage of the Muslim communities of France, and the pride they have in feeling superior to the indigenous, infidel population; and, if I might suggest my own book, The Dawning of a New Dark Age, which is exactly what will come about if the force of darkness that is Islam overcomes the force of enlightenment that is the West.

We need to ensure that our powder kegs are dry for the long and arduous battles ahead. This conflagration has all the makings of dragging the world into war. This is why it is so necessary to take tough measures to stop the rot NOW! This is no time for mealy-mouthedness, no time for political correctness, no time for multiculturalism, and certainly no time to be thinking of bringing Turkey into the heart of Europe!

We need to roll back the frontiers. We need to drop the iron veil, the veil of which I wrote in my book. We need to stem the flow of immigrants into Europe, that means to say we must put an end to the crescades,the waves of Muslim immigrants which have been allowed to enter Europe over the past decades, without even a serious attempt to stem the flow.

This is a battle for the soul of Europe. A battle which must be won if we are to secure our civilization. Make no mistake about it: What is going on in France right now will impact on us all: the UK, the US, all of Europe, and even Australia and beyond. This is the clash of civilizations of which Samuel P Huntington wrote, and it will be the re-making of the world order if we fail to act decisively. There is no time to waste. Our task is clear: We need to re-assert our authority in our own lands, and win back control. For now, France needs its Napoleon. Stand up! Your country needs YOU!

Do our leaders still want Turkey to be admitted to the EU?

The situation in France is grave. Last night saw its worst night of violence since the riots started eleven days ago. The unrest has spread to Marseille, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse, Metz and Lille. 1400 cars went up in flames. The first man - Jean-Jacques Le Chenedec, a 60 year old, according to Le Parisien - has died. He is the first victim of the riots. 395 people were arrested.

This is a serious situation indeed; it could well lead to civil war if the authorities do not manage to quosh the unrest very soon. The great fear is that this unrest could spill over into other European countries. There is no end to the damage that these riots could wreak on Europe, and the European psyche.

If anyone was in any doubt about the workability of multiculturalism, then these recent events in France should put an end to it! Multiculturalism does not work. It is an unrealistic idea, dreamt up by the liberals and academics. It should be considered dead!

There is only one way for a nation to function, and that is for all its citizens to accept the characteristics and way of life of that nation. People should be made to assimilate. If they do not wish to do so, then they should be made to leave; they should be shown the door!

Many Muslims are already talking of re-establishing the caliphate to replace our civilized democratic institutions. Such talk is dangerous; and it should, under no circumstances, be tolerated. These people should not be locked up (why waste our tax dollars/pound/euros?); rather they should be deported, for they are taking advantage of the hospitality that our free countries have extended to them, and they have taken advantage of us as people, too, of our kindness, our tolerance, our sense of fair play. They have overstepped the mark: they are using the free system for subversive activities. This should be tolerated no longer. These people are a menace to society.

The clamps need to be placed on Muslims. Yes, Muslims! These people - though it has to be said not all of them - are the ones causing these problems for the French, and they will soon be causing such problems for us all. The old saying, a stitch in time... is as pertinent in this situation today as it ever was.

Muslims in general do not wish to integrate; rather, they wish to take us over. This is as plain as the nose on your face. It should be plain to our politicians also.

It is unfair to the indigenous population to subject them to this unrest and violence in the name of multiculturalism. It is time to put a stop to the commercial world calling the shots, too! They want cheap labour; Muslim immigrants have filled the bill. Look what's happened!

When governing a country, there is far more to consider than mere commercial gain. If this is the price we have to pay for cheap labour; then it is unacceptable.

People have to be safe in their own homes, people have to be safe on the streets, people need to know that the way of life they have grown accustomed to, and the freedoms they cherish, will not be put in jeopardy.

If our politicians, after all this unrest and all these problems in France over the past eleven days, still want Turkey, with its great Muslim population, to be admitted to the EU, then they are irresponsible fools!

There are some things in life which we just have to accept: water is wet, sugar is sweet, oil and water do not mix, and nor do Islam and democracy and freedom. They are immiscible!

Muslims there? Trouble there!

So the Jihad has reached France, and Paris is in flames! And Strasbourg! And Toulouse! And Nantes! And the riots have even reached the Med: Marseilles is also in flames! And God knows which cities will be in flames tonight! There have been riots for ten consecutive nights already; and there is no let up in sight.

Just in case some people might still be in some doubt, this is the Jihad in action. Muslims are on the rampage; and they are being buoyed up by the perceived weakness of the politically correct West, and the stiffening backbone of the Ummah. It is no coincidence that there have been calls for further Jihadi activity from Ahmadinejad in Iran. Islam, just in case anyone hadn't noticed, is on the rise. Muslims are feeling their feet!

Last night, police reported no fewer that 1,295 burning vehicles, and even a crèche was set alight!

Newspapers this side of the Atlantic this morning are, of course, full of excuses for the Muslims living in the banlieus, or suburbs, stating that this is proof of the failure of French government policy for failing to integrate the immigrant population. But we all know that the Muslim immigrants do not wish to be integrated: They prefer to live parallel and separate lives. They are, after all is said and done, superior to Western infidels; and they certainly wish to bring the West to its knees.

There is no doubt that many of these Muslims live in deprivation, poverty, and perhaps even squalor. But these are no excuses for bedlam and mayhem. France, it has been said, is now teetering on the brink of anarchy. The worry is that it could well spread to other European countries, the United Kingdom included. Only two weeks ago, we also had a riot on the streets of England, and some days ago, a Muslim graveyard was desecrated.

The fact of the matter is that this civil unrest could very well end up in civil war in France. Some observers are already mooting the possibility.

Wherever we find growing numbers of Muslims in the infidel world, we are able to observe flashpoints - tinderboxes. There is a simple explanation for this: Muslims are honour bound to fight the Jihad. The word 'Jihad' has a few definitions, but the greater Jihad is the one which should concern us here. It means struggling and striving in the way of Allah, to establish his 'kingdom', or more correctly stated, his caliphate here on earth. These people are not going to give up this struggle easily; they don't wherever they are found in great numbers. There are problems in many parts of the world, including the Sudan, the Lebanon, Thailand, and even China, to name but a few places.

Indeed, as the Muslim population increases in the so-called 'infidel' West (don't you just hate that name?), and increase it most certainly will if the population explosion goes unchecked, so will the potential for civil unrest. This is because of the civil strife caused by increasing numbers of Muslims trying to impose their Islamic will on the indigenous population.

Our policy-makers and politicians can look as much they like for solutions and explanations in poverty; but this has less to do with poverty, and far more to do with the Muslim's Weltanschauung, or worldview.

Over the years, we have had many, many deprived areas in the United Kingdom; though things have improved greatly for many in recent years. But it was rare indeed to read about gangs of unruly people, the mobs, creating such mayhem on our streets. Poverty is no excuse for rioting. Period!

It is difficult to see how French politicians are going to deal with this, since few demonstrate the willingness to take the necessary harsh measures to control the lawless.

Two interesting questions would be: How many of these rioters are actually illegal immigrants? How much of this rioting is being funded from abroad?

There are no easy answers in a politically correct world - in a pc world which always pushes the blame back onto ourselves; but it is imperative that these troublemakers be controlled before they manage to control us! Perhaps one good place to start would be to deport the illegal immigrants. After all, they've got no right to be here in the first place: they're illegal!

The Anglican Church under attack from its own Archbishop!

Nothing could be more far-fetched, nothing could be more surreal, nothing could be more bizarre than the Archbishop of Canterbury apologizing for Christianity; but it's happened! The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, in an address in Cairo (of all places!), apologized for imposing Christian and Anglican hymns on the wider world.

It was, he says, in a twisted piece of theology, 'sinful' for the British to bring Jerusalem and Hark the Herald Angels Sing to the wider world and the far outreaches of the Empire.

He was especially critical of Victorian missionaries who had brought these wonderful anthems to far-flung peoples in the great age of evangelical fervour.

Mary Kenny's article was brilliant. She tore the man to shreds!

We are living in perverse times. The advanced world is now finding it necessary to apologize for being civilized and, well, advanced. I tell you now: We will not last long as a civilization if things go on this way.

We have rotten leadership wherever you look. Our Prime Minister, Anthony Blair, is, in my opinion, the worst in living memory. He is busy taking away our liberty at every turn. Is he, perhaps, trying to inure us to the ultimate loss of freedoms that will inevitably be imposed on us as Islam grows here in the West, when Europe will morph into Eurabia?

Now we have rotten leadership in the Church of England, too! What is this man thinking about? As Mary Kenny rightfully points out: The Empire helped civilize the world. There is nothing to apologize for! Absolutely nothing! I, for one, am proud that Britain once had an Empire! It was Britain's hour of glory. And this should never be forgotten. What we have now is the rise of the Islamic empire. Time will tell just how beneficent and benevolent that empire will be!

The Archbishop is said to be a brilliant scholar. Brilliant he might well be; but one thing is for sure: He lacks common sense and the ability to lead!

Were I to be in his position, I should be considering my position. He is there in order to bring the Christian message - the Good News - to the people in this still Christian country. He should be evangelizing and filling the pews. That is the raison d'être of his position. He should think of himself as a glorified salesman: The more he manages to sell the message of the Gospel, the more successful he will be, and the fuller the church pews will be, too!

But what does he do? He causes rifts in the Church by his lack of firm leadership. He prefers to belly-ache about the rights and wrongs of accepting the homosexual lifestyle than to bring the people into the Church, heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, asexual, metrosexual, or any other kind of 'sexual' you can think of!

The homosexual issue cannot be resolved: People take strong positions on it. Therefore, it would surely be better to leave this personal matter to the individual for it to be something between him and his God. Get on with the business of filling the Churches, Your Grace. The more the churches empty, the stronger Islam becomes in relative terms.

No atheism, no agnosticism, no syncretism, and no secularism is going to be strong enough to stand up to the Islamic onslaught. Christianity is what the West was built on. It is the rock underpinning our civilization. Take away the rock, and you are left with nothing - a void, a vacuum. A vacuum which will surely be filled by Islam!

No house can be built on shaky foundations; and no civilization can be kept together on shaky foundations, either. The Archbishop, in going to a Muslim country such as Egypt and apologizing for his own faith, is engaging in the removal of the underpinnings of our culture. Our culture will not survive long if this continues.

I hasten to add that I am not advocating any kind of fundamentalist form of Christianity. Heaven forbid! So I am certainly not advocating a nation of Bible freaks. But what I am saying is this: In Islam, we have a culture sure of itself and sure of its mission and destiny. Without Christianity, we cannot be sure of our own.

So I shall repeat the words of Sir Winston Churchill (slightly changed), used when WWII broke out, for I can think of no other's words more apt: Take up your task, Your Grace, with buoyancy and hope, and feel sure that your cause will not be suffered to fail among men. And feel entitled to claim the aid of all! And remember the words of Whitaker Chambers in Witness: History is cluttered with the wreckage of nations that have become indifferent to God and died!

Too soft to survive!

This is a very bad time for Islam to be advancing. Westerners have grown unaccustomed to struggling and fighting for survival.They have become too used to their creature comforts, their many holidays abroad, their several cars in the driveway, and their altogether high standard of living. They have become acquisitive and complacent with it. They somehow believe that nothing should take these things away from them. After all, they managed to vanquish communism; and they feel sure that all people deep down really wish for the same way of life. How wrong can they be!

Muslims are cut from a different bolt of cloth. Acquisition to them is far less important than their devotion to Islam and its eventual triumph over their traditional enemy: the Christian West.

Many here would deny that the West is now that Christian at all; and it would seem that Christianity has indeed suffered greatly in recent years. The empty church pews are testimony to this. To Muslims, however, the West and Christianity go hand in hand. And they wish to triumph over it. After all is said and done, this is their bounden duty: to conquer the West and spread the faith.

As we all know, the home of Islam is Arabia. That place is home to some of the most hostile terrain in the world, and home to some of the toughest people in the world, too. Hostile environments breed tough people. The Bedouin therefore is not known for his softness; on the contrary, because his environment is so hostile, he is brought up with a strong instinct to survive. To a Bedouin, the world is a tough place. And only the stongest survive it.

I have experienced first hand just how tough these people can be. Compassion is not second nature to the Bedouin! He is exceedingly proud, and this pride will not allow him to compromise easily, either. Cross a Bedouin one day and see just how vengeful he can be! If you cross one, I can assure you that you will have made an enemy for life! It is rare indeed for these people to forgive.

Islam has all the hallmarks and characteristics of the people who founded it. For example, Islam teaches its adherents to be hospitable. It is the hostile environment which has fostered this habit in its people. It is essential to extend hospitality and a welcome to the wayfarer where the climate and terrain are so difficult. If you extend hospitality today, you can expect it to be returned when you need it.

But it is the Bedouin's stong instinct for survival, and his toughness in his dealings with others, which should concern us. For this toughness has crossed over into Islam itself. Even a cursory glance at some of the surahs in the Qur'an show just how tough Muslims are expected to be. And how many times in recent years have we been appalled by the beheadings in the news?

Westerners were once tough, too. Especially when life was harder. Take the cowboy as a case in point, or the seafarer of yesteryear. But life has become soft for the majority today. The poor in many Western countries are cared for by the welfare state. Even unmarried mothers are given hand-outs. Few, today, need go hungry.

But this caring society has brought with it a softness which is not helpful when our countries are under attack, partly because it renders people incapable of taking the tough measures necessary for their own survival. Indeed, one has to question whether we have lost our instinct for survival! You can be sure that your countrymen have grown soft and weak when they start clamouring for unnecessary legislation, legislation to ban this or that. Things that we have lived with for centuries. This is no good sign. It shows that society is in decline when people fuss about trivialities when there are far greater things to worry about!

That this is so can be seen here in Great Britain. Our Prime Minister busies himself interfering in the private lives of the people, by banning this and banning that. His time would be better spent dealing with the encroachment of Islam on our daily lives!

We have before us a choice: either we stiffen our resolve to fight and win, or we let all that has been fought for, and won, by previous generations slip away for the lack of stomach to fight.

When our backs are against the wall, there is only one thing to do if we wish to survive, and that's to fight for our survival. It seems that few today are willing to do what is necessary.

People today have been cossetted. There hasn't been a major war since 1945. That is precisely 60 years ago. One can be sure that not having lived through a war makes most people quite incapable either of comprehending how dire life can be or of comprehending why war should ever be necessary. People want peace. Quite naturally. Nobody in his right mind would choose war over peace. But we have to be careful that we don't have peace at any price. That is never a good thing.

The way we are dealing with the advance of Islam would suggest that this is precisely what we have got: Peace at any price!

We shall have to find our backbones again soon if we wish to maintain our liberty for future generations. They won't thank us if we do not!

Habibati, Take Off That Burqah!
You can just imagine it, can't you? A Muslim telling his zawjah (wife): Habibati (my dear), take off that burqah! We've got some serious business to attend to! And then they laugh all the way to the baby-making room! For they know that they will be helping to swell the population in the community of Muslims here in the West. They also know what the eventual outcome will be: They will outnumber Westerners. They understand Churchill's message, a message that has long been forgotten here in the West: There is no finer investment for any community than putting milk into babies.

Sheer numbers will trump technology; numbers will also trump economic development. Although we are more advanced, we needn't smirk and feel superior. These people understand the basics of life; we have forgotten them! To a Westerner, it is now more important for women to do a meaningful job in the workplace. No longer is the rôle of motherhood satisfying enough.

Moreover, commerce drives our political decisions: Business calls for more manpower, so the politicians open the floodgates, and let in illegal immigrants by the tens of thousands. Such is the logic of our day. I tell you now: It is false logic; and it will eventually lead to our own demise.

No community, no nation, no civilization can survive without an adequate supply of new born babies. It's the sine qua non of survival and it's the sine qua non of a thriving nation, too. Westerners are trying to buck nature; they will fail. And fail miserably!

If we are to survive as a civilization, then there needs to be a sea-change in attitudes, a sea-change in outlook, a sea-change in government policy.

Meanwhile...nine months later, Farida will give birth to that bonny, bouncy little Muhammad; and the father will whisper into the baby's ear: La illah ila Allah wa Muhammadan rasul Ullah! The Muslim community has swollen yet again: a Muslim baby has been born. The Muslim communities here in the West know that it's only a question of time, now.

The father smiles, for he knows that the future must surely belong to them!

Reactive 'leadership'

Good, strong leadership in troubled times stems from pro-action, not reaction! But what we get is more and more reaction. Our leaders react to events as they unfold, and usually proceed to appease. This is deeply troubling.

I realize full well that there are times when any leader has to react to events. Especially when taken on the hop. But our leaders are not taken on the hop at present - there has been a sustained attack on the West and its values for many years now. We should have been awakened from our reveries in no uncertain terms on 9/11 even if we had been sleepwalking before that. But we seem still to be fumbling around, trying to make sense of the events. Our leaders appear to be paralysed: They know not what do do!

We are at war with an alien culture, like it or not. Actually, it would be more accurate to state that the other way around, since we didn't choose to wage this war, and we are certainly reluctant warriors: An alien culture is at war with the West. This is an undeniable fact. No wishy-washy, do-gooding, screaming liberal can deny this, since the evidence is everywhere around us. Take the riots in that Paris suburb as yet another example of just how hostile Islam really is.

But what do the leaders do: They react. React and appease! Whereas what they should be doing is being pro-active and tough. Did Churchill lead us to victory in WWII by being reactive and appeasing?

Our leaders seem not to know it - though they should - but we are dealing with a ruthless enemy. Make no mistake about it: Muslims can indeed be ruthless. They are not given to much compassion and mercy, at least not for the likes of the infidel!

But our leaders and politicans consistently fail - or refuse - to get it. They keep muddying the waters, confusing the people, the electorate, in the process. Appeasement, however, will not work against an implacable enemy - an enemy determined to supplant Western values with Koranic ones.

We have been here before with Nazism and fascism. Now we have Islamofascism to deal with; but we aren't doing so effectively at all. All we are doing is giving in: Letting them have their way. Treating them differently because they come from a different culture, and assisting them not to integrate in the process.

We are living through the 1930s all over again! The big question is: When will 1939 return? Then we really will have to wake up and become pro-active.

Make no mistake about it: No war was ever won on the defensive; and behaving reactively is nothing more or less than placing oneself on the defensive. Offence is the best defence. It was ever thus, and ever will be.

What the politicians do no seem to understand is this: For as long as Islam continues to grow and grow here in the West, and grow and grow it will if left unchecked, then we are allowing the seeds of anti-democracy to put down their roots further and further into Western soil. Like a fast-growing weed in the garden, if left to proliferate, it will eventually choke all plants. So it will be with Islam in the West!

Pro-active measures need to be taken urgently. Time is not on our side.

Remember What Mahathir Said: Muslims Are At War With the West

The then Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad opened the Tenth Session of the Islamic Summit Conference in October of 2003 with a keynote speech in which he states unequivocally that Muslims believe that they are at war with the West.

48. In any struggle, in any war, nothing is more important than concerted and coordinated action. A degree of discipline is all that is needed. The Prophet lost in Jabal Uhud because his forces broke rank. We know that, yet we are unwilling to discipline ourselves and to give up our irregular and uncoordinated actions. We need to be brave but not foolhardy. We need to think not just of our reward in the afterlife but also of the worldly results of our mission.

49. The Quran tells us that when the enemy sues for peace we must react positively. True the treaty offered is not favourable to us. But we can negotiate. The Prophet did, at Hudaibiyah. And in the end he triumphed.

50. I am aware that all these ideas will not be popular. Those who are angry would want to reject it out of hand. They would even want to silence anyone who makes or supports this line of action. They would want to send more young men and women to make the supreme sacrifice. But where will all these lead to? Certainly not victory. Over the past 50 years of fighting in Palestine we have not achieved any result. We have in fact worsened our situation.

51. The enemy will probably welcome these proposals and we will conclude that the promoters are working for the enemy. But think. We are up against a people who think. They survived 2000 years of pogroms not by hitting back, but by thinking. They invented and successfully promoted Socialism, Communism, human rights and democracy so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong, so they may enjoy equal rights with others. With these they have now gained control of the most powerful countries and they, this tiny community, have become a world power. We cannot fight them through brawn alone. We must use our brains also.

52. Of late because of their power and their apparent success they have become arrogant. And arrogant people, like angry people will make mistakes, will forget to think.

53. They are already beginning to make mistakes. And they will make more mistakes. There may be windows of opportunity for us now and in the future. We must seize these opportunities.

54. But to do so we must get our acts right. Rhetoric is good. It helps us to expose the wrongs perpetrated against us, perhaps win us some sympathy and support. It may strengthen our spirit, our will and resolve, to face the enemy.

55. We can and we should pray to Allah S.W.T. for in the end it is He who will determine whether we succeed or fail. We need His blessings and His help in our endeavours,

56. But it is how we act and what we do which will determine whether He would help us and give us victory or not. He has already said so in the Quran. Again Surah Ar-Ra'd verse 11.

57. As I said at the beginning, the whole world is looking at us, the whole Muslim ummah is placing their hopes in this conference of the leaders of Islamic nations. They expect us not just to vent our frustrations and anger, through words and gestures; not just to pray for Allah's blessings. They expect us to do something, to act. We cannot say we cannot do anything, we the leaders of the Muslim nations. We cannot say we cannot unite even when faced with the destruction of our religion and the ummah.

58. We know we can. There are many things that we can do. There are many resources that we have at our disposal. What is needed is merely-the will to do it, As Muslims, we must be grateful for the guidance of our religion, we must do what needs to be done, willingly and with determination. Allah has not raised us, the leaders, above the others so we may enjoy power for ourselves only. The power we wield is for our people, for the ummah, for Islam. We must have the will to make use of this power judiciously,
prudently, concertedly. Insyaallah we will triumph in the end.

59. I pray to Allah that this 10th Conference of the OIC in Putrajaya, Malaysia will give a new and positive direction to us, will be blessed with success by Him, Almighty Allah, Arahman, Arahirn.

Fiddling while Rome burns! And then some: Destroying it, too!

In a brilliant opinion piece in The Daily Telegraph some day ago, Simon Heffer, ever incisive, looks back with nostalgia to a time before Tony Blair's Britain started taking shape. Mr Heffer is right to do so. Britain is being destroyed before our very eyes!

In a few short years, Blair has managed to turn on its head all that it means to be British. And there's more on the way!

This man is a meddlesome do-gooder. Ironically, he is doing nothing but harm to the fabric of British society. He bans anything and everything he dislikes or feels is bad for us. And he does so with zeal! In so doing, he is turning a once tolerant society into an intolerant one. It is interesting to note that intolerance is the hallmark of Islamic societies! It is also interesting to note that it is intolerance which is the basis of the Muslims' call for the Race and Religious Hatred Bill. Muslims cannot bear to be criticized. Go to any Islamic society and start criticizing it! Then see what happens!

Tony Blair is determined to ban smoking in public places. This is a blatant act of intolerance. It's a fact of life that some people smoke while others do not. Britain used to accommodate both types of people. There should be room for all in a good, well-functioning society. Intolerance breeds intolerance. Today it is smoking. Will it be drinking alcohol tomorrow? With the drinking of alcohol on the increase, there are plenty of signs of its deleterious effects on society; yet only the most intolerant of people would wish to see it banned. Muslims would! And with Islam in the ascendancy, it is only a matter of time before they will call for that to be banned, too. In one city in Scotland, they have alread called on the local council to ban outdoor drinking in a beer garden. Why? Because it offended the local Muslims to see infidels enjoying a drink in public! They failed to get the change through. This time! Watch this space!

Prince Charles the new roving ambassador for Islam!

It has been reported in The Telegraph this morning that Prince Charles is to fly to the States on Tuesday for an eight-day tour. Its purpose: To try and sell Islam to George W Bush and the American people! He wishes to persuade the President and all Americans of the merits of the faith.

Apparently, Charles believes that the actions of the nineteen hijackers on 9/11 should not tarnish the reputation of hundreds of millions of law-abiding Muslims around the world.

Really, Charles! What have ya bin smokin'?

Charles is a meddlesome prince. He has been sniffing around for many a year for a meaningful rôle in the world. He is into and frequently expresses his often controversial opinions on organic farming, architecture, alternative medicine, and Islam. In fact, he has a particularly soft spot for Islam. But it is precisely his views on Islam which are particularly dangerous to the continued existence of the West in its current form. Someone should shut him up!

He is edging dangerously close to engaging in politics with this one. We can tolerate his outbursts on organic farming and alternative medicine and even architecture; indeed, his remarks are often laughable. They seem often to be the rusings of an ageing and slightly eccentric man who has no meaning in his life! But when he starts spouting forth on Islam, the alarm bells should start ringing!

As a prince of the House of Windsor, he must surely have plenty of time to read about Islam - the real Islam. He should start today! There are good books aplenty on the dangers that Islam poses the Western world. My own, The Dawning of a New Dark Agewould be a good place to start. Then read the Qur'anand inwardly digest it, and Al Hadith, or the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, and Robert Spencer's excellent books, his latest being The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, and then read The Arab Mindby Raphael Patai, and Trifkovic's book, The Sword of the Prophet. This would be a good start! And if his German is up to it, which I believe it should be, as his family has German roots, then he should read Die islamische Herausforderungby Gerhard Konzelmann. This book should open his eyes, as it did mine twenty or so years ago. It's a classic. Not forgetting, of course, Bat Ye'or's The Decline of Eastern Christianity under Islam: From Jihad to Dhimmitude and Eurabia. Indeed, these are must reads for him. They will all help to remove the stars in his eyes. He needs to be taught how to see clearly. His starry-eyed vision of Islam is as inaccurate as it is dangerous.

We really cannot afford to have Charles roving around the world as an ambassador for Islam, disseminating disinformation about this dangerous faith! The continued existence of the West depends on his being gagged!

The House of Lords is clashing with Tony Blair’s Labour government over its proposed Racial and Religious Hatred Bill. This is an Orwellian piece of legislation. Its real purpose of preventing any meaningful discussion of Islam. If passed it would enable authorities to charge people with “inciting religious hatred” even if they speak or write the truth about the Kuran, the hadith, the historical practice of jihad, or the long-term aspirations of the Muslim diaspora in the West.

*Dhimmitude is the status that Islamic law, the Sharia, mandates for non-Muslims, primarily Jews and Christians. Dhimmis, "protected people," are free to practice their religion in a Sharia regime, but are made subject to a number of humiliating regulations designed to enforce the Qur'an's command that they "feel themselves subdued" (Sura 9:29). This denial of equality of rights and dignity remains part of the Sharia, and, as such, are part of the law that global jihadists are laboring to impose everywhere, ultimately on the entire human race.

The dhimmi attitude of chastened subservience has entered into Western academic study of Islam, and from there into journalism, textbooks, and the popular discourse. Can this really be the religion of peace our leaders talk about?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent outburst that Israel should be wiped off the face of the map was as outrageous as it was dangerous.

Can these really be the utterings of a man of faith? Can these really be the utterings, indeed, of a Muslim - an adherent of the so-called religion of love and peace and tolerance our leaders have been ramming down our throats ever since 9/11? Or could they simply be the utterings of a rabid Muslim - a man of faith dedicated to the real Islam, a man dedicated to bringing the West to its knees, and conquering and Islamizing the whole world?

President Bush and Tony Blair's statements that Al-Qaeda has warped and twisted and distorted the wonderfully peaceful and tolerant religion of Islam are sounding increasingly vacuous and empty and devoid of any truth.

No, Mr President! No, Mr Prime Minister! This is the real Islam, unvarnished and without sugar-coating. Uncandied! This is the religion whose adherents wish to conquer the world. You know, the religion which wishes to establish the caliphate!

If anyone ever had any doubt about the real Islam, then he need doubt no longer. This is the real thing! Not Islam-lite, not Islam varnished, not Islam candied or sugar-coated. But Islam, the real thing. Islam unveiled!

Prepare yourselves for a rough ride!

When the truth shall not be uttered!

There are signs aplenty that a new dark age has started to dawn; and they are there for the observing! Our age is characterized by weakness, since the West is no longer sure of itself. It knows not whither it goes! We are engaged in belly-aching and navel-contemplation! Why? Because we doubt our own superiority as a civilization, doubt the faith upon which that civilization is underpinned, doubt that our long-held beliefs are valid anymore.

No civilization will survive like this; and we are the architects of our own destruction! This is the sad thing! We are creating our own weakness, so we, ourselves, are bringing forward the downfall of our own civilization. This is folly if ever I recognized it! We have become self-deprecating; so we apologize for ourselves! And in so doing, we try - oh, how we try! - to be fair to all. But beware! Churchill once said: The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong.

Closing down freedom of speech in the United Kingdom with the government's ill-conceived Race and Religious Hatred Bill will be one further step towards that age of darkness, since the truth shall no longer be utterable.

Yet, there is another sign of the impending dark age: Europe has abandoned its faith! Church pews are empty. Church leaders no longer proclaim their monopoly on their version of the truth of everlasting life. They spend their time discussing the rights and wrongs of homosexuality, and engage in interfaith conferences -conferences which can, in the long-run, only lead to a further dilution of the Christian faith. For there is no compromise to be with other faiths if you are sure of the truth, especially with Islam, since Islam is so uncompromising!

Islam is a confident religion, sure-footed, and determined: determined to rule the world! It is a competing civilization with ours, competing in every way imaginable. The advent of the petro-dollar has given the Islamic world a new lease on life. The result: The Islamic world is now in the ascendancy; and we are helping it along! We are in the descendency; and they are helping us along!

Because we have long since started the process of abandoning the religion that gave us so much, the religion that brought us to this level of civilization, the religion that brought us the art, the music, the science, the medical breakthroughs, the technology, the machinery, the high standards of living, the enlightenment (the list goes on and on and on!), people are searching - searching for meaning in their lives, searching for the spiritual, searching for fulfilment.

And where are they searching? They are searching where they will find nothingness - a void! For they are searching in New Age beliefs: horoscopes, the occult, the mysterious. There is a growth industry in Europe in these alternative belief systems. In Europe, it is not unusual to believe in the power of the moon! In the power of the stars! And in the power of much else besides.

Hokus pokus!

Many of us are a guilty of having a sneak peek at our horoscope reading for the day, week, month, or even the year ahead. But, when people are sensible, they should take these with a good pinch of salt. The alarming thing in Europe is this: many do not!

The decline of Christianity in Europe has brought with it a void which people are trying to fill. These New Age beliefs may tied people over for a time, but only until they come to realize that they are simply delving into entertaining nonsense! Drivel!

The great fear is that with Islam growing apace here in Europe, through immigration, a much-higher-than-average birthrate among the Muslim community, and through some inter-marriages and conversions, it will fill that void, and will then come to dominate the landscape. The signs of this happening are there now for all to observe. The numbers of Muslims in Europe are large, but, till now, they are still very much the minority; but oh how they have come to dominate the news! Scarcely a day goes by without some big story or other about Islam spread across the pages of our newspapers. If Islam gets this much coverage now, imagine what it is going to be like in twenty years' time! Imagine, too, how much coverage it's going to get if Turkey is allowed in to the EU!

But what will the growth of Islam in Europe and the West bring with it? This is the burning and important question!

Well, to start with, the growth of Islam will close down critical thinking. Why? Because people will not be allowed to search for the truth. In Islamic countries, anything that goes against Islam, or is said against Islam, is strictly forbidden, and punishable. This creates an atmosphere of fear, so people remain silent. Furthermore, if people are disallowed from uttering the truth, then they cease searching for it. What's the point in searching for the truth if you cannot utter it?

Searching for truth and inquiry are the basis of science. It is no coincidence that the Islamic world has contributed nothing much of lasting value to the scientific community for centuries. Nor has it contributed to art, because most forms of art are forbidden in Islam.

Discoveries in the Islamic world must prove the verity of Islam as the true faith. If anything is discovered that doesn't, it is hushed up and swept under the carpet.

This is no way for a society to be enlightened. This is the road to benightedness!

Then we have the ritual of prayer five times a day. Is this conducive to productivity and economic growth? In Saudi Arabia, at the present time, there are many, many graduates who wish for nothing other than to devote themselves to religious life! (Compare this with the numbers entering seminaries!) They wish to be state-funded imams. Will this be the next thing to come here to the West? Already, Sarkozy in France is advocating the state-funding of mosques!

These are troubling times indeed. Troubling, because we aren't vigilant, aren't confident, aren't convinced of our strong future.

Diffidence will be the arhitect of our destruction; self-confidence, the architect of the Islamic age!

The road to hell is paved with good intentions!

The Racial and Religious Hatred Bill now before the British Parliament marks a sad turning point in this tolerant nation's history. If passed, this free country, till now famed for its freedom of speech, will never be the same again! This bill is as dangerous as it is absurd!

Never in my lifetime have I lived through a period as dangerous as this one, never in my lifetime have I lived through a period of government so intrusive, never in my lifetime have I lived through a period of government so determined to rob the British of their hard-won liberty, and never in my lifetime have I been ruled by people so determined to coerce the majority to appease the minority!

Tony Blair is a Prime Minister like no other we have ever seen. In a short time, he is managing to change the landscape of British politics and the life of the average man in the street.

In my opinion, he will go down as the banning prime minister, since he is clearly intent on banning everything he dislikes or everything he thinks is bad for us. He is turning Britain into a nanny-state. Mrs Thatcher came to power to free up the people; Mr Blair, to place them in shackles!

He has banned smacking, fox-hunting, and much else besides. Further, he is going to ban smoking in all public places. And now he is bent on introducing the Racial and Religious Hatred Bill which will effectively take away our freedom of speech. This is quite unforgivable!

This Prime Miinister seems not to understand the true nature of the tolerant society he is governing. What he is doing to this country is not in the spirit of land. We have had a rich history of tolerance and even diversity. All other groups have managed to blend in. So why should the Muslims be any different? What is particularly galling is that he is doing this to appease the Muslims whose support he has lost because of his ill-fated war in Iraq.

I have said all along - actually for more than twenty years - that we are in grave danger of losing our own culture to mollify and appease the growing number of Muslims in this country. Received wisdom has long told us that immigrants should adopt the culture of the host country. This is in accord with the idea of when in Rome, do as the Romans do. It seems that the new way is for the 'Romans' to be forced to do as the immigrants do: the majority has to mend its ways to appease the minority. This is the nature of Blair's Britain.

This is a dangerous development. Moreover, there will be no end to the demands of the Muslim minority. They are a growing minority, and as this minority grows ever stronger, ever more demands will be made, since so much in our country, as in every other Western country, is potentially offensive to a Muslim: from pigs to wine, from the crucifix to the church bells! Are we eventually to ban everything offensive to Muslims?

This is all happening because we are being led by the weak! Surely, nobody could be weaker than Tony Blair! His premiership has the appearance of strength simply because he faces no real opposition in Parliament (the Conservatives continue to squabble among themselves); in actual fact, however, the reverse is true.

If Blair thinks that he is going to bring about racial harmony with this ill-conceived legislation, he is greatly mistaken. If anything, it will increase tensions between the communities, not minimize them.

Saturday night saw bad riots on the streets of England. Such riots will surely continue if he insists on making one racial group despise the other like this, setting one racial group against the other. The middle classes may well grin and bear it all; the working classes will not! Tolerance is the key to racial harmony. So tolerance must be fostered. What Blair and his administration are proposing will increase intolerance; so racial disharmony could well ensue.

Tony Blair came to power determined to make Britannia cool. He is in grave danger of making it hot, for as the proverb goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions; and we all know just how hot that place is!

Is Free Speech the Real Problem?

The Racial and Religious Hatred Bill now before Parliament in the U.K. is attempt to stop the spiral into cultural chaos that now confronts the citizens of Britain and those in many other parts of the world. Rampant and unfettered immigration has brought together a mix of cultures and religions, in some cases with explosive consequences. Although well meaning, it's a recipe for failure. Instead of a better society, the consequences will mean the abolishing of ancient and natural rights and the descent into tyranny.

From ancient times, wise men have warned against measures that would lead to tyranny. Harsh, tyrannical measures to limit the speech and action of citizens signal that something is drastically wrong. In this case the unrest of the majority has been brought about by the lack of insight and failure of judgment of educated and privileged men that should have considered more carefully the consequences of policy. Must we all now pay with loss of liberty to repair that lack of judgment?

Well-meaning politicians in Parliament are in error if they believe that legislating the content of public speech will quell the unrest. For what is not said in public will definitely be whispered in private. How, then, will this speech be monitored? As did the Nazis, Stalin, and Castro, will citizens be required to inform upon private conversations and correspondence? Will children be encouraged to inform on their parents and teachers? This bill will snowball into something ugly and grotesque, and it will be the end of Britain as a nation of free men and women.

Parliament intends this bill for the "protection" of all. Why do some require such protection? Europe and the U.K. have experienced an enormous influx of new immigrants with cultures that clash with the majority found in the host countries. Instead of assimilating, these immigrants continue to maintain their cultures as if they were residing in the countries they left. The indigenous citizens naturally resent that newcomers are setting up mini-countries within the hosts' territories and demanding fiscal maintenance, access to healthcare, education, and religious accommodation, bringing in repugnant and often illegal activities. Instead of enforcing existing laws to stop such behaviors, Parliament has decided to force all to stop speaking publicly about the problem. This isn't rocket science: the result will be disastrous.

What is the government to do? First they should table or eliminate this bill from consideration as it will cause further resentment and harm. Enforcement of existing immigration laws are necessary and public policy should not be changed to accommodate immigrants who find "Britishness" to be offensive. That idea is offensive...to the British people. Third, they must be cognizant of the cultural and religious morés of entrants. Should immigrants that see British culture as inferior and have hostile intentions be allowed into the country, even as visitors?

Parliament hasn't considered well enough. The "Racial and Religious Hatred Bill" will have far-reaching consequences. As does everything else, this fall under the realm of the Law of Unintended Consequences. In the end, it will snowball into something vulgar, ugly and violent.

Parliament is well-meaning. However their effort will only result in further tyranny.

American Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis wrote in his opinion, "Olmstead v. United States" (1928): "Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are beneficial. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greater dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding." The irony is that this opinion was in response to the American government's
use of wiretapping to monitor speech.

Liberties and freedom slip away in small increments and tyranny often enters the same way. Parliament should consider long and hard before enacting this legislation.

Numbers of Christians Decline in the Birthplace of Christianity

Fear stalks the Christian community of Bethlehem. Threats, attacks, kidnappings, rape, and murder are daily occurrences here and few in Christian countries are willing to stand up for or even to listen to the complaints and pleas of their co-religionists. Politicians, reporters, and even religious authorities are afraid of crossing the Palestinian Authority or HAMAS. Who could blame them? The Palestinian Authority and HAMAS often work hand-in-glove.

For Muslim Palestinians, Bethlehem is a source of tourism revenue and a reminder that other religions are practiced among them. Triumphal Islam will not tolerate open practice of other religions. This is the reason for the vehement opposition to Israel and the persecution of Palestinian Christians that only fifty years ago constituted a majority of the population. Today's population that has fallen to 12%. Within twenty years all Christians may be gone from the traditional town of Christ's birthplace.

They are fleeing for a variety of reasons, mostly to escape violence and persecution.

Yet off the record, many Christians in Bethlehem who were interviewed during the past week expressed deep concern over increased attacks by Muslims on members of their community. Moreover, most of them said that they were seriously considering moving to the US, Canada and Latin America, where many of their relatives already live.

Jihad, a Christian merchant from the nearby town of Beit Jala, who has been dealing in antique furniture for over 30 years, says he is planning to leave for good to Chile, where at least 80,000 of his townsfolk now live. "There are less than 10,000 Christians living in Beit Jala today," he explains. "There's no future here because of the deteriorating economic conditions." His friend, George, who used to own a souvenir shop, says he's planning to move next week to Peru, where his brothers and sisters have been living for the past 15 years. The two, who asked to be identified only by their first names, are extremely cautious when the issue of Muslim-Christian relations is raised. "It's true that there have been a number of cases of violence against Christians, but generally speaking the situation is not that bad," George stresses.

Other Christians in Beit Jala disagree. According to a local physician, the plight of the Christians has been aggravated over the past decade in general and since the outbreak of the intifada in particular. "After the Palestinian Authority arrived here in 1995, many Muslim families from Hebron and other parts of the West Bank have moved to Beit Jala," he says. "What's worrying is that some of them have illegally seized privately-owned lands. When one of the Christian owners refused to sell his land to a senior Palestinian security official, he was arrested for a number of days."

In another case, a 60-year-old Christian man was briefly detained by one of the Palestinian security forces because he had forbidden his daughter to date a Muslim security officer. Other Christians who tried to stop Fatah gunmen in Beit Jala from firing into the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo in the first years of the intifada later reported that they had been beaten or threatened by the gunmen.

The same gunmen are also responsible for the rape and murder of two Christian teenage sisters from the Amr family. The assailants then claimed that the sisters had been murdered because they were "prostitutes" and had been "collaborating" with Israeli security forces - a claim that has been strongly denied by the victims' relatives and many residents of the town. "The gangsters murdered the two sisters so that they would not tell anyone about the rape," says a family member. "Some of the murderers were later killed by the Israeli army, but others are now living in Europe after they had sought refuge in the Church of Nativity. It's absurd that Muslim men who rape and murder Christian girls are given political asylum in Christian countries like Ireland, Spain and Italy."

Last week Beit Jala was once again the scene of religious tensions after a Christian woman complained that she had been harassed by Muslim men from the village of Beit Awwa in the Hebron area. "Such incidents have become a daily phenomenon," says Mary, who runs a small grocery in the town. "Many Christian families have sent their daughters abroad for fear they would come under attack by Muslim men."

Earlier this year tensions between Muslims and Christians in Bethlehem reached a peak after a Christian family complained that their 16-year-old daughter had been kidnapped by a Muslim man. Following the intervention of senior Palestinian officials and Muslim leaders, the girl was reunited with her family after spending a few days in a village near Hebron. With the help of American diplomats, the girl was flown immediately to the US to begin a new life with relatives and friends.

They are confounded that co-religionists in the West do nothing.

Some Christians point a finger at the foreign media and diplomatic missions in Israel, accusing them of ignoring their predicament for "political" reasons. "Although most of the foreign journalists and diplomats are Christians, they don't seem to pay enough attention to what's happening to the Christians in Bethlehem," says Bishara, a Christian tourist guide. "They're obviously afraid of damaging their relations with the Palestinian Authority."

While it's almost impossible to find a Christian who's prepared to go public in airing such grievances, Samir Qumsiyeh, a journalist from Beit Sahur, is a notable exception. Last month he was quoted by the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera as saying that Christians were being subjected to rape, kidnapping, extortion and expropriation of land and property... "The racism against us is gaining pace in staggering ways. In 1950 the Christian population in Bethlehem was 75%. Today we have hardly more than 12% Christians. If the situation continues, we won't be here any more in 20 years."

Pity. Christians may be soon be gone from Bethlehem and as a reminder of why the Crusades were called.

The conquest of Jerusalem in 638 stood at the beginning of centuries of Muslim aggression, and Christians in the Holy Land faced an escalating spiral of persecution. A few examples: Early in the Eight century, sixty Christian pilgrims from Aarmorium were crucified; around the same time, the Muslim governor of Caesarea seized a group of pilgrims from Iconium and had them all executed as spies--except for a small number who converted to Islam; and Muslims demanded money from pilgrims, threatening to ransack the Church of the Resurrection if they didn't pay. Later in the eighth century, a Muslim ruler banned displays of the cross in Jerusalem. He also increased the anti-religious tax (jizya) that Christians had to pay and forbade Christians to engage in religious instruction of others, even of their own children. Brutal subordination and violence became the rules of the day for Christiansin the Holy Land. In 772, the caliph el-Mansur ordered the hands of Christians and Jews in Jerusalem to be stamped with a distinctive symbol. Conversions to Christianity were dealt with particularly harshly. In 789, Muslims beheaded a monk who had converted from Islam and plundered the Bethlehem monastery of Saint Theodosius, killing many more monks... In reaction to this persecution of Christians, the Byzantines removed from a defensive policy toward the Muslims to the offensive position of trying to recapture some of their lost territories. In the 960s, General Nicephorus Phocas (a future Byzantine emperor) carried out a series of successful campaigns against the Muslims, recapturing Crete, Cilicia, Cyprus, and even parts of Syria. In 969, he recaptured the ancient Christian city of Antioch. The Byzantines extended this campaign into Syria into the 970s...

People have forgotten that Christianity was once widespread in what today is the Muslim world and most don't know that Islam is an imperialistic religion of desert Arabs that use religion as a pretext for conquest. Most Muslims have forgotten that Islam and the Koran are based on Arab culture and written in Arabic for the obvious reason that Arabs are the first among Muslims. Mecca, the holy city, is in Saudi Arabia, the seminal seat of Arabism. Imperialist Islam is hot on the heels of a resurgent and benign Christianity that is spreading through parts of Africa, Asia, and South America. Conquest and the spoils of war are much on the minds of Muslim conquerers whether the conquest is done with the sword, the ballot box, or the economy. Non-Muslims in lands overcome by Islam will find themselves in the same predicament as do contemporary Christians in Bethlehem: convert, flee, or die.

Soon there will be no hiding place if non-Muslims don't take a stand as Jihadis are found in all countries of the world. If no stand is taken in contemporary courts and legislatures, someday banners of defensive Crusaders may flutter again over beseiged cities, using violence as they attempt to rid themselves of a scourge that so easily could have dealt with using the rule of law. Three Killed in Church Riot in Egypt

What caused the riot?

Coptic Christians, the ancient Christian sect that predates Islam by over 1,000 years is under pressure to convert.. to convert to Islam. Conversion to Islam is simple: repeat a few simple words and, lo and behold, you are a Muslim. One doesn't need to know a thing about Islam before conversion and many don't. One important fact that all should know before repeating those few simple words is that once the commitment is made, you can't change your mind. Those that do pay the price of their lives.

The demonstration in Egypt was about a play entitled "I Once Was Blind But Now I See," about "a poor young Copt who is drawn to Islamist militants who then try to kill him." What did he do to deserve to be killed? Was he an informer or commit a criminal act? No, he became disillusioned with Islam. Islam didn't live up to his expectations and he decided to leave: he became an agnostic which is a criminal act to Muslims. That's right. Individuals that become Muslims share the same principle as do made members of the Mafia - they cannot leave on pain of death.

Although the production was shown in a DVD two years ago. Militants are thought to have distributed them "to stoke sectarian tensions ahead of (upcoming) legislative elections November 9."

The Interior Ministry described the protesters as "fanatic elements" who "escalated a negative reaction to a play." The ministry said about 5,000 Muslims marched to the church after Friday noon prayers at mosques. "The police tried to prevent (the demonstrators) from approaching the church and attacking it, but the protesters did not heed the warnings and started to hurl stones at the church, security forces and pedestrians," the ministry said.

The riot was sparked by the distribution of a DVD of a play that was performed at the church two years ago. The play, "I Was Blind But Now I Can See," tells the story of a young Christian who converts to Islam and becomes disillusioned. The church's director, the Rev. Augustinous, said it was difficult to explain the reaction to a one-time performance that took place two years ago.

The church director, the Rev. Augustinous played down the possibility that the DVD was offensive: the "Christian hero is ultimately saved by a Muslim friend." Copts walk a thin line. Once the majority, today they represent only 10 percent of Egypt's population of 70 million and must appear as inoffensive as possible. The showing of the DVD, even in private, violated the rules - nothing that shows Islam in bad light is permitted; violators are severely punished.

Books, articles, blogs, and messages that criticize Islam are considered to be an insult. Even authors and bloggers in the West are sometimes verbally threatened, sued, attacked physically, sentenced to death, or even killed. These are examples the most well known in the West. In the Muslim world there are thousands of the witting and non-witting that have threatened or murdered for "insulting Islam."

Muslims claim that there is no compulsion in religion," meaning that each is free to choose and practice. The riot in Egypt shows the lie to this claim: Muslims are willing to commit violence to drive out or silence practitioners of other religions. In this case they killed two birds with one stone, using outrage over an event that occurred two years ago for political reasons and to drive home the dhimmi or zimmi status of the non-Muslim population, reminding them what Islam allows or disallows for their non-Muslim subjects.

Many find dhimmitude too hard to bear. It is easier to "revert" as they call conversion, or go along with the claims and demands of the Muslim overlords. From time to time Egyptian Copts complain to authorities that their members, especially young women, have been kidnapped and forced to convert. Muslim authorities tend to do nothing. The practice is widespread throughout the world where forced conversions and riots are sparked at the slightest pretext of offense. But then, what doesn't offend Muslims? Europeans would be wise to think very hard and carefully to invite more Muslims to live among them. After all, Egypt was once a predominately Christian country. Look what happened in the space of a few centuries and regard how Islam treats non-Muslims in Saudi Arabia, and in the areas of Nigeria where Islam is spreading through the usual way: violence, intimidation, and deception.

A soft-focus war with an out-of-focus end!

After 9/11, the President launched his war on terror, saying that you are either with us, or you are against us. The problem is this: Many people still do not know whether they are with him or against him! And he has only got himself to blame!

His war on terror is ill-defined, since he and his administration have failed to identify the enemy; and they have failed to bring the Americans, let alone the Europeans, along with them in great numbers.

In Bush, we have a leader of the greatest, most powerful nation in the world who is clearly not well-versed in matters relating to Islam. Indeed, he seems not to understand the faith at all - neither its tenets, nor its objectives, nor its means to achieve those objectives, nor its history of conquest.

George W Bush has become a master of verbal acrobatics; and he is given to speaking from both sides of his mouth at the same time! His words and his deeds are out of synch: on the one hand he takes his country to war; on the other, he entertains the very people whose ideology he is fighting against in the White House in an Iftaar dinner. That would have been similar to Winston Churchill fighting Nazi Germany by sea, land, and air and at the same time inviting all the Nazi sympathizers in the country to a Christmas dinner at Number 10! It wouldn't have made sense then; and it doesn't make sense now!

First of all, why does the President have to give priority to Muslims by inviting them to any kind of dinner? Does he do this for Jews or Christians or Hindus or Buddhists? I haven't found any reference to such dinners; so I somehow very much doubt that he does. So isn't this recently-started tradition of inviting Muslims to the White House as unfair as it is ridiculous?

President Bush is sending out mixed messages. On the one hand he speaks against the evil ideology of Al-Qaida; yet on the other hand mollifies the very people who extol the virtues of this ideology! For what Al-Qaida preaches is Islam, pure and simple! It's not Islam-lite, but Islam, the real thing!

Our leaders, both in the US and UK, can try and whitewash Islam as much as they like; but in the long-run, it will not wash white! The truth about Islam is getting out there, slowly but surely.

Islam has a long history of conquest and Islamization of nations. Indeed, each and every country that Islam enters and puts down roots, it eventually takes over. Witness Egypt, Syria, even Libya. What makes the President feel that it will be any different simply because it is America in the twenty-first century?

Now, if what the President really wants is for the US to be taken over by this alien faith, then he is going the right way about it, since I have heard that he is even spending the Americans' tax dollars on major Islamic initiatives. Were I to be an American taxpayer, I should be furious!

Has a war ever been so waged? I think not. Compare Churchill's leadership of the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Huh! There is no comparison! Churchill was a true leader - engaging, lucid of thought, clear in his objectives, tough in his stance! An orator of unrivalled ability, a tactician unsurpassed in modern history! These are the qualities which George W so sadly lacks. These are the qualities George W so badly needs!

Muslims have stated categorically that Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. Omar M Ahmad, the Chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, stated as early as 1988...

Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran...should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.

Then, Isma'il Al-Faruqi, a US Academic Theorist, stated:

Nothing could be greater than this youthful, vigorous, and rich continent [of North America] turning away from its past evil and marching forward under the banner of Allahu Akbar [God is Great].

And if the President still doubts the real motives of devout Muslims (and even the less than devout ones!), then all he needs to do is read what the Ayatollah Khomeini said some years ago after the 1979 Revolution in Iran. He said...

We are at war against infidels. Take the message with you. 'I ask all Islamic nations, all Muslims, all Islamic armies, and all heads of Islamic states to join the Holy War. There are many enemies to be killed or destroyed. Jihad must triumph... Muslims have no alternative... to an armed Holy War against profane governments... Holy War means the conquest of all non-Muslim territories. It will be the duty of every able-bodied adult male to volunteer for this war of conquest, the final aim of which is to put Koranic law in power from one end of the earth to the other.'

Do these sound like words emanating from the mouth of a follower of a religion of love to you? Do these sound like the words spoken by a tolerant man? Do these sound like the words of a man bent on coming to an accommodation with the non-believers? And aren't such words being spoken by many devout Muslims today?

Come on, Mr President! Get real! Start reading! Start learning! And then start leading! Start leading your country - and the rest of the West - to victory! I repeat the words of Sir Winston Churchill:

I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I can say: It is to wage war by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival. Let that be realised; no survival for the British Empire [you insert American 'Empire'], no survival for all that the British Empire [American 'Empire'] has stood for, no survival for the urge and impulse of the ages, that mankind will move forward towards its goal. But I take up my task with buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. At this time I feel entitled to claim the aid of all, and I say, "come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.

So come, Mr President: Get with the story! Your (our) beloved America is in grave danger of going down the slippery slope. Not even Nazi Germany was such a threat for America. There were relatively few Nazis resident in the US at that time. You have a real challenge on your hands now, Mr President! Rise to it! Start thinking clearly! And most of all: Start changing your strategy! The current one is not working, since even if you do somehow manage to bring more than a semblance of democracy to the Middle East - which is very doubtful - you are in danger of losing it at home!

Soft-focus wars, Mr President, with no clarity of vision, just do not work. Sharpen up your focus! State your objectives clearly! Inform the people of the dangers that your country and the West face, and then you'll find that the people will be with you. You will be entitled to claim the aid of all! Change the setting from soft focus to clear focus. Then you'll reap the rewards by making the rest of us far happier, far safer, since then we will all understand. And then we really will be with you, not against you!

How does substance compare with form in today's politics?

Yesterday saw the Conservative Party's most experienced politician, Kenneth Clarke, eliminated from the Conservative Party's leadership race.

Many say that by seeing Kenneth Clarke off, the Conservative Party has shot itself in the foot once again! By getting rid of the man not only experienced enough to lead the party, but also enough of a bruiser to do battle with the redoubtable Chancellor, Gordon Brown, and the man who was the most popular with the voters in the country, they might well have made themselves unelectable for the foreseeable future.

There is no doubt about it: Youth has triumphed over experience; beauty, over substance! David Cameron is said to be telegenic; I doubt whether in the eyes of fashionable London and the county set that the same could be said for dear old Kenneth.

Kenneth had a few things going against him in today's superficial, politically-correct world: He is rather rotund and cuddlesome - one could say stout; he is in his sixties - for some, over-the-hill; he has been the deputy chairman of British American Tobacco since 1978; and, horror of horrors in today's plastic world, he enjoys a puff! No, I correct myself: He is an aficionado of fine cigars.

Not too long ago - it can't be, because even I can remember the time! - things were very different. Stoutness was perceived as adding stature to the politician - witness Churchill; a fat cigar in hand, even in public, also did the same - again, witness Churchill! Indeed, Churchill was rarely photographed without one. And being the deputy chairman of a large multinational company, albeit a tobacco company, would have been evidence of the politician's experience in the real world - something sadly lacking in parliament these days!

Some weeks ago, Melanie Phillips, in one of her insightful articles referred to the Tory leadership battle as a beauty contest. Melanie usually hits the nail on the head, and she didn't fail with this article, either. For this is what it really seems to be turning out to be!

But then, in today's world, looks matter. So it would appear that the eventual winner will indeed be David Cameron. The fact that Mr Cameron has only been in politics for four years - he entered parliament in 2001 - and the fact that he doesn't have any well-thought-out policies is apparently neither here nor there. He looks youthful. He is telegenic. And he looks awfully sweet kissing babies! Oh, and by the way, Conservatives must be thinking that he will look good next to the elf-like Blair! Mr Peter Pan himself!

If Cameron wins the leadership race, and then really does go on and win the next election - something which is not to be taken for granted in New Labour's Britain - then it looks as if we'll be in for the same old garbage: policies made on the hoof by a man who has little conviction, except that is that he feels that the highest office in the land belongs to him as of right à la Blair!

Compare this with Mrs Thatcher. In her, the Conservative Party had a winner - a winner of grandiose dimensions! She knew what she wanted to do with the country; and set out to achieve her aims. She had an uncanny feel for the pulse of the nation: She knew what the people really wanted. She was also well-aware of the dangers before us; though it has to said that during her time in office, there were no such threats to the liberty of the nation as there are today.

Today, we have Islam - the religion which is growing at an alarming rate in the world. Even here in the West! Yet, nobody seems to care!

Isn't it curious that no mention has been made of the fact that no contender in the leadership race has any knowledge or understanding of this threat, the greatest threat to Western civilization since the rise of Nazi Germany. And in fact, in many ways, it is an even greater threat than Nazi Germany ever was, since this is a religion rather than an ideology. And religions are here to stay!

It is to be hoped that whoever wins the Conservative Party nomination will get cracking and do his homework. Very dangerous times lie before us. What we have seen with Islam hitherto is not the end. To quote Churchill's famous words: This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

It remains to be seen how far looks will take us in the difficult years ahead!
