THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: It would have been the most devastating terrorist attack on British soil leaving hundreds dead – and by al-Qaeda inspired but “home-grown” Islamic fanatics.
Up to eight suicide bombers carrying backpacks rammed with explosives and armed with guns were to carry out a horrifying blend of the 7/7 and Mumbai atrocities.
The jihadi gang planned to walk in to crowded, public places shooting indiscriminately before simultaneously detonating their terrible homemade payloads killing hundreds on their wake.
Although no firm target was settled on, the 2012 Olympics may have been one along with soldiers based in this country.
They even boasted about "hitting" David Cameron, his friends and other non – believers in the "land of Satan".
The plot was the most significant since the plans to blow up transatlantic aeroplanes with liquid bombs in 2006 and is likely to have led to the largest loss of life from a terror attack on UK shores. » | Tom Whitehead, Security Editor | Thursday, February 21, 2013

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: French fashion brand Lacoste has asked Norwegian police to ban mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik from wearing their clothes during court appearances.
The killer insists on wearing a red Lacoste sweater with the distinctive crocodile logo on trips out of prison.
The 32-year-old gunman who killed 77 people on July 22 even wrote in his online manifesto that "refined people like him should wear brands like Lacoste".
But his choice of clothes has been described as a "nightmare" for the French company's exclusive image.
Norwegian daily Dagbladet said bosses had now written to Oslo police demanding 32-year-old Breivik be stopped from wearing their garments. Read on and comment » | Telegraph Foreign Staff | Thursday, September 08, 2011

THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: A "chilling" Islamic terrorist plot to blow up New York's John F Kennedy Airport was thwarted yesterday. The plotters had hoped it would be more deadly than the 9/11 atrocities.
Four members of a "sleeper cell" intent on exploding fuel dumps to destroy the airport terminal buildings and aircraft on the ground, were arrested after an FBI surveillance operation lasting more than 16 months.
In conversations bugged by American officials, one of the plotters claimed the resulting explosion would have resulted in the destruction of "the whole of Kennedy". He predicted there would have been few survivors. FBI thwarts Islamic plot to blow up JFK (more) By Tim Shipman
