Farage Is a Fake and Only a Matter of Time before He Is Found Out
Jan 19, 2025 | I do not wish ill on Farage - and certainly do not anticipate his "demise" but I certainly predict a time when he will have to deliver something of value rather than carping against the establishment and making a tidy buck on the side.
I have never liked Farage. The man is a fraud. He is in politics only for his own ends: he's in politics to feather his own nest. He laughs all the way to the bank even while he is impoverishing the masses. Whom do I dislike the most: Farage, Trump, or Musk? Difficult question! The answer would be complex. When all is said and done, they are all self-serving and self-aggrandizing. Bad actors. – © Mark Alexander

Kemi Badenoch's Big Brexit Speech Yesterday
Kemi Badenoch is a bloody disaster for the Conservative Party. She has zero chance of reversing the party’s fortunes. In a short time, Badenoch will be nothing but a footnote in the history books.
The problem with Brexit is not that it has been badly executed, though it is true that it has been badly executed. The main problem with Brexit is that its execution should never have been tried from the start. There is no way that Brexit could have worked, regardless of how it was executed. No country can decouple itself from the greatest customs union in the world, which is on its doorstep, and expect to be able to thrive. This is economics 101!
Only a dimwit would have suggested a Brexit referendum. Cameron, put a referendum forward, and he was just that: a dimwit.
Kemi Badenoch need not bash herself on the head with Brexit being badly executed. Fact is that its execution should never have been tried in the first place.

Liz Truss - "Cease and Desist" Letter to Keir Starmer
Liz Truss is a nonentity. It is astonishing that such a woman bereft of any abilities should ever have become the prime minister of the United Kingdom in the first place. As we all know, she was obsessed with Thatcherism and was determined to apply Thatcher’s policies once again. This, of course, would have been foolhardy in the extreme. Thatcherism might have been okay for the Eighties, though many would dispute that, but they would certainly not have been right for these times. It was Thatcherism — and Reaganomics — after all that has brought about the extremes of wealth and poverty we can now observe on both sides of the Atlantic. We hardly needed more of such policies to widen the wealth gap still further. (Though the MAGA-maniac, otherwise known as Trump, will be practising his version of Reaganomics Stateside for sure.)
Liz Truss is one of the many clowns that we now see on the political stage. We truly are living in very strange times. Once upon a time, clowns joined circuses to earn their crusts and were satisfied to make fools of themselves to entertain others; these days, they enter politics to make small fortunes and make fools of us instead!
Were I to be Liz Truss, I should be inclined to hang my head in shame, and laugh all the way to the bank with the generous pension she now gets from the state, but in no way deserves. But instead of that, not recognising her dire lack of talent, she is itching to get back onto the world stage to screw up the economy once again for a second time. – © Mark Alexander

Professor Tim Wilson: Elon Musk's Meddling?
Musk’s wings need to be clipped. I think you’ll find Nazism in Musk’s family’s past. Isn’t this why Musk feels so drawn by Germany’s AfD? – © Mark Alexander

The Threat of Elon Musk's Money
That hypocrite Nigel Farage doesn’t care about “loss of sovereignty” now, does he? As long as the money is going into his coffers, he doesn’t give a damn about loss of sovereignty.
As for Musk and his gazillions, let him shove his political donation where the monkey shoves its nuts! The UK is enough of a plutocracy as it is, and our democracy is very weak already. We don’t need these tech-billionaires to come here and weaken it still further. – © Mark Alexander

History Will Ask How Long It Took for Brexit to Break Britain
Well said! Brexit was an act of self-harm. Suicide if you will. Nothing good will ever come out of Brexit. I, too, believe that the UK will eventually break up. Westminster's days are numbered. Scotland wants its independence. If that happens, Wales could well follow suit. Ireland should be united in any case. We can blame Cameron, Farage, Hannan et al for this mess.
We need to get back into the EU (if we can) as soon as possible. Walking away from the biggest single market in the world —The Single Market—was stupid. We Brits also lost all our privileges by exiting the club. That was bad enough; but what always seems to be forgotten is the peace that the European Union helped bring to Europe, a continent which had been riven by war for centuries. The Conservative Party has a great deal to answer for. And I write this as a one-time dyed-in-the-wool Conservative voter. After the fiasco of Brexit, never shall I vote for that party again.
Keir Starmer is as good as useless, too. He is delusional. He wants to make Brexit work. Brexit will never work. At least not to our advantage. It will impoverish the nation. It is already doing so at breakneck speed.

Professor Tim Wilson: Rachael Johnson Is a Disgrace Promoting the Idea That Some Should Pay for the NHS
Very well said! Aneurin Bevan must be turning in his grave because of that stupid woman, Rachael Johnson. Until the Tories got their mitts on the NHS, it worked well and efficiently. The Tories—and I say this as a one-time dyed-in-the-wool Tory voter—have got a hell of a lot to answer for. Thank you for bringing some common sense into this debate. – © Mark Alexander

Professor Tim Wilson: Kwasi Is Hurrying Back and Liz Is Trying to Save Her Sinking Ship
Brilliant, Prof! This cloud does have a silver lining though: This catastrophe has exposed the erroneous notion that only the Conservatives know how to handle the economy, only the Conservatives can be trusted with the running of the economy for the BIG lie that it is. – © Mark Alexander
