Harris and Walz Hold First Campaign Rally Together

Vice President Kamala Harris and her newly announced running mate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, went on the attack against the Trump-Vance Republican ticket during a raucous rally in Philadelphia.

Aug 7, 2024 | Vice-president Kamala Harris and Minnesota governor Tim Walz appeared together for the first time as the Democratic party's White House ticket at the start of a multi-day tour of swing states they hope to win in November.

After earlier announcing her choice of Walz as her running mate, presidential candidate Harris touted Walz's background before predicting that he would earn a new title in November: Vice-president of the United States.

Protests Erupt in Philadelphia after Police Fatally Shoot Black Man | DW News

The US city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has seen a second night of protest after the killing of a Black man by police on Monday. 27-year-old Walter Wallace Junior was shot by police after they said he refused to drop a knife. Wallace's family say they had called for an ambulance, not police, to get help with what they called a mental health crisis.

Britain’s Theresa May in US: Islam is Peaceful, Globalism Good, Climate Change a Priority


BREITBART.COM: British Prime Minister Theresa May used her speech in Philadelphia to needle the new Trump administration on a number of issues ranging from globalism to climate change, Islam, and even to defending the European Union.

Mrs. May began her speech at the Republican Retreat in Philadelphia with a brief history of Anglo-American relations, invoking the spirit of the Founding Fathers of the U.S. as well as expressing gratitude towards America’s involvement in the World Wars of the 20th century.

But her speech was also littered with politically correct terms, as well as left and centre-left talking points regarding international institutions, Islam, and radical Islamic terrorism, the latter of which she called “Islamist extremism”.

Philadelphia Steps Up Security for US Democratic Convention


Security has been stepped up in the US city of Philadelphia ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

Thousands of protesters are expected at the event. Some of them are being coached on how to make their voices heard peacefully.
