With the centenary of Russia's revolutions approaching, Evan Davis spoke to historian Orlando Figes - a specialist on the Russian revolution - Mustafa Nayyem, who was at the forefront of the Ukrainian protests in 2014 and Reem Assil, who was active in the Syrian uprising.

The world is full of unnecessary suffering and deaths. Let us at least try to understand each other better and minimise the suffering and tragic deaths. One death is one death too many!
