Court Hears Muslims Calling British Soldiers ‘Rapists’, 'Cowards’ and ‘Scum’

MAIL ONLINE: Shocking films of a group of Muslim protestors shouting 'rapists', 'scum' and 'burn in hell' at soldiers on a homecoming parade were played to a court today.

The mob of Muslim anti-war protesters screamed hostile chants including 'baby killers and murderers all of you' and 'British army murderers' at 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment - which had lost 12 soldiers in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Holding signs made from cardboard boxes denouncing soldiers as 'Butchers of Basra' and 'war criminals', the group of men jeered 'murderers' as they marched past.

What should have been a joyful homecoming spilled over into violence as angry members of the public there to give the soldiers a heroes' welcome shouted insults back at the protestors, Luton Magistrates Court heard. >>> Lucy Ballinger and Mark Duell | Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Luton's Muslim Extremists Defy Public Anger

THE TELEGRAPH: The Muslim extremists in Luton who jeered British troops returning from Iraq are continuing to defy public anger despite the simmering tension it has caused in a racially-mixed town.

The Islamic extremist was in full flow, bellowing out his message on a busy street in Luton.

"British soldiers ... murderers ... rapists ... not heroes ..." Most passers-by ignored him.

A few, mostly young Muslim men on their way home from afternoon prayers, paused to listen and were immediately approached by the white-capped preacher's fellow radicals, eager to recruit new members to their cause.

Suddenly a mustachioed businessman in Muslim dress strode over the group, jabbed a finger towards the preacher and shouted: "You are giving Muslims a bad name!"

The radicals argued with him and tried to manhandle him away from the scene. For a moment the confrontation threatened to turn ugly until the businessman decided to walk away, still seething, but his point firmly made.

The angry scene encapsulated the tension that has hung over Luton since the preacher and the rest of his group staged a demonstration last week as 200 soldiers of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment paraded through the Bedfordshire town after a gruelling tour of duty in Iraq. >>> By David Harrison | Saturday, March 14, 2009

Muslim Extremists an Embarrassment to Luton

TIMES ONLINE: The Islamist protesters who held up banners labelling soldiers returning from Iraq as killers, cowards and butchers have "brought disgrace" to Luton, a local MP said today, as it emerged they may belong to a banned extremist organisation.

The group of men caused uproar when they picketed a homecoming parade by the 2nd Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment down the streets of the Bedfordshire town, holding up placards with slogans including: "Anglian Soldiers: Butchers of Basra" and "Anglian Soldiers: cowards, killers, extremists".

One placard also read: "British Government Terrorist Government."

As the troops prepared to hold a similar march in Watford today, Margaret Moran, the Luton South MP, said that the protesters had been an embarrassment to her town. MP Says Muslim Protesters Have 'Brought Disgrace' to Luton >>> David Byers | Wednesday, March 11, 2009

A group of around 20 men in traditional Islamic dress held up banners and placards that read: "Anglian Soldiers Butchers of Basra", "Anglian Soldiers Criminals, Murderers Terrorists" and "Baby killers".

As the battalion, which is nicknamed The Poachers, reached Luton Town Hall the small group shouted and yelled "Terrorists" and "Anglian Soliders Go to Hell."

The protestors then had to be protected by police as angry supporters of the soldiers turned on them shouting: "Scum" and "No surrender to the Taliban." >>> | Tuesday, March 10, 2009
