THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: A US-born radical Yemeni cleric has called for the killing of Americans in a new video message posted on radical web sites on Monday.
Anwar al-Awlaki said Americans are from the "party of devils" and so don't require any special religious permission to kill.
In the 23-minute Arabic language message entitled "Make it known and clear to mankind," al-Awlaki said it was "either them or us". He also called all Arab and Yemeni leaders "corrupt" and said it was time for religious scholars to take charge.
"Kings, emirs, and presidents are not now qualified to lead the nation, or even a flock of sheep," he said. "If the leaders are corrupt, the scholars have the responsibility to lead the nation." >>> | Monday, November 08, 2010

TIMES ONLINE: The Pakistan Taleban leader Hakimullah Mehsud, who was believed to have been killed in a US drone attack in January, has threatened attacks against the US in a video apparently made last month, according to the intelligence monitoring group SITE.
The video comes in the wake of the attempted car bombing in Times Square, New York on Sunday and follows another video by Mehsud's terror organisation Tehreek-e-Talebn in which the group claimed credit for the failed attack.
U.S. authorities have played down the potential connection between the Pakistani militant network and the car bomb, saying the group does not have the global infrastructure to carry out such a strike. Tehreek-e-Taleban frequently claim responsibility for terror attacks in which they have no involvement.
In the nine minute video allegedly made on April 4, Mehsud, the man who was once Pakistan's most feared commander makes no specific mention of an attempt on New York but threatens strikes on the United States within a month for the killing of militant leaders.
"The time is very near when our fidaeen (soldiers) will attack the American states in the major cities," says Mehsud, who is flanked by two armed and masked men. >>> | Monday, May 03, 2010

THE GUARDIAN: Al-Qaida marked the eighth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington with a video message tonight in which it predicted that Barack Obama would be brought down by the Muslims.
In a two-part, 106-minute tape recorded in Arabic and released on militant websites, Osama bin Laden's righthand man, Ayman al-Zawahri, likened the US president to his predecessor.
"America has come in a new, hypocritical face. Smiling at us, but stabbing us with the same dagger that Bush used," said Zawahri. "God willing, your end will be at the hands of the Muslim nation, so that the world and history will be free of your crimes and lies."
According to the Site Institute, a group that monitors extremist websites, the video, titled The West and the Dark Tunnel, was made by the media arm of al-Qaida, as-Sahab. Although Bin Laden does not feature, several key members of the leadership do. In addition to Zawahri there is Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, Attiya Allah and Abu Yahya al-Libi. >>> Ed Pilkington in New York | Wednesday, September 23, 2009

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS (ARUTZ SHEVA): After much speculation that he was killed in an American airstrike, al-Qaeda's American-born spokesman Adam Gadahn (AKA "Azzam the American") has shown up in a new video released this past weekend. While focusing on Pakistan, he makes several references to the "Zio-Crusader" enemy and calls on Muslims to set aside their temporal national, ethnic or tribal differences for the sake of unity in the jihad for Islam.
The convert to Islam, born Adam Pearlman, is wanted by the FBI for his alleged role in developing al-Qaeda propaganda in Pakistan. In addition to Gadahn, the new recording also contains video of Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, the chief al-Qaeda terrorist responsible for coordinating with the Taliban, as well as audio of Osama Bin-Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri.
In the video, filmed by al-Qaeda's media arm al-Sahab, Gadahn ridicules the new Pakistani government as a puppet of the Crusaders and Jews. He and others appearing in the video call on Pakistan's soldiers and people to refuse to aid in the fight against the jihadists and to attack caravans belonging to Western forces traveling through Pakistan. The soldiers are called upon to disrupt anti-jihad operations and to work for the imposition of Islamic law in Pakistan.
Gadahn states that jihadist victory in Indian Kashmir and in Afghanistan has been prevented thus far by Pakistani "hypocrites" fighting against the jihad. Kashmir is mentioned several times, with calls to liberate the jihad in Kashmir from the control of the ISI, the Pakistani intelligence agency. In addition, he says, the West's main concern is that nuclear-armed Pakistan not fall to the jihadists - an outcome al-Qaeda is seeking to foment with the help of local cells. Osama Bin Laden is said to be preparing to release a video message to the American people to coincide with the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The announcement was made on an Islamist website, where al-Qaeda's media arm frequently posts messages.
US homeland security officials could not confirm the existence of a tape, and said there was "no credible information of an imminent threat".
Al-Qaeda has put out similar statements in the past but no video has followed.
Bin Laden has not been seen in a video since October 2004, when he threatened new attacks against the US on the eve of the presidential election.
An audio tape was released in January 2006.
