Teary Barack Obama Thanks Michelle in Farewell Speech

n his final address to the nation as president, Barack Obama gets emotional as he thanks the first lady. Obama, turning to his wife Michelle, says for the past 25 years she has been “not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend.” As his daughter Malia looks on crying and the audience rises to give Michelle Obama a standing ovation, he continues: “You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and with grit and with style and good humour.”
