La Corée du Nord ferme la porte à toute négociation

La Corée du Nord a annoncé mardi son retrait des négociations sur sa dénucléarisation et la reprise de son programme d'armement atomique en réaction à la condamnation par l'ONU de son récent tir de fusée. La Corée du Nord "rejette fermement" la décision du Conseil de sécurité, qualifiée d'"insulte insupportable" envers son peuple, selon un communiqué du ministère nord-coréen des Affaires étrangères diffusé par l'agence officielle KCNA.

"Les discussions à six (sur la dénucléarisation) n'ont plus lieu d'être. Nous ne participerons plus jamais à de telles discussions et ne nous estimerons n'être liés par aucune décision prise dans le cadre de ces discussions", a ajouté le ministère.

Le régime communiste "va renforcer sa force de dissuasion nucléaire pour assurer sa défense par tous les moyens", a ajouté le texte.

"Nous allons prendre des mesures pour rouvrir nos installations nucléaires désactivées (...) et retraiter des tubes de combustible nucléaire usagés provenant des réacteurs expérimentaux", a encore promis le régime.

Barack Obama Warns North Korea over Rocket Launch as Pyongyang 'Fuels Missile'
THE TELEGRAPH: North Korea can expect a "stern, unified action" from the international community if it test-fires a ballistic missile, US President Barack Obama has said.

Mr Obama promised tough action at a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit as reports emerged that Pyongyang had begun fueling the long-range rocket for an impending launch.

US military officials said that technicians have started to fuel up the three-stage Taepodong-2 missile at Musudan-ri launch site in the country's northeast in defiance of a 2006 UN resolution.

Pyongyang has said that the missile-test is a satellite launch not covered by the UN resolution and has informed international agencies that it will fire the rocket as early as Saturday.

US intelligence officials said that analysis of the rocket's nose-cone appeared to confirm claims that it was a satellite launch, but added that the launch was a cover for testing ballistic missile technology capable of delivering a warhead as far as Alaska or Hawaii.

North Korea Threatens Full Scale War If Rocket Is Intercepted
THE TELEGRAPH: North Korea says it will wage war on America, Japan and South Korea if any attempt is made to intercept the launch of a rocket it claims is intended to put a satellite into space.

It has also cut off its border and telephone links with the South in protest at military exercises by American and South Korean troops which began on Monday.

Plans for a launch were first picked up by satellite imagery, with foreign intelligence agencies saying it was a test of a long-range Taepodong-2 missile with the capacity to hit parts of the United States.

The United States said it would shoot down the missile if it headed towards its territory. Japan has suggested it might try to intercept any launch, even if the payload is a communications satellite as claimed by Pyongyang.

"If the enemies recklessly opt for intercepting our satellite, our revolutionary armed forces will launch without hesitation a just retaliatory strike operation," the general staff of the North Korean army said in a statement on state media. It singled out the United States, Japan and South Korea as targets.

Seoul - Wegen eines Großmanövers der US-Streitkräfte mit Südkorea hat Nordkorea seine Truppen in volle Kampfbereitschaft versetzt und auch die letzte Kommunikationsleitung zum Nachbarland gekappt.

Zugleich warnte die nordkoreanische Volksarmee am Montag vor Versuchen, einen «Satelliten» abzuschießen, den Nordkorea ins All befördern wolle. Ein Abschuss käme einer Kriegserklärung gleich und würde mit Vergeltungsschlägen gegen die USA, Südkorea und Japan beantwortet. Wann der Satellit starten soll, blieb unklar. Für die Dauer des Manövers soll den Angaben zufolge der «heiße Draht» zu Südkorea abgeschnitten werden, der bei Bedarf die Kommunikation zur Lösung akuter Konflikte sicherstellen soll. >>> ©dpa | Montag, 9.
