Exclusive: Geert Wilders to Keynote Muhammad Art Exhibition and Contest in Texas

BREITBART: Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders will deliver the keynote address at the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest being held on May 3rd, in Garland, Texas. The Art Exhibit is being put on by Pamela Geller’s American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI). It will be put on at the same facility in Garland as the Honor the Prophet Conference that was held by a pro-Islamic group in January.

Wilders earned international recognition in the free speech movement when he was brought up on charges for speaking out against Islam at a March, 2014, rally where he promised to reduce the number of Moroccans living in the Netherlands. “The public prosecutor in The Hague is to prosecute Geert Wilders on charges of insulting a group of people based on race and incitement to discrimination and hatred,” prosecutors said in a statement, according to an article by Sam Webb on the DailyMail. » | Bob Price | Sunday, February 15, 2015

Ads Linking Hitler to Islam to Run on DC-area Buses

Pamela Geller: 'My intent is to leapfrog over a media that is not even-handed'

WND: An organization run by an anti-Mulsim blogger has purchased billboards on the sides of twenty Washington DC Metro buses featuring Adolph [sic] Hitler and calling for an end to ‘all aid to Islamic countries.’

The ads are paid for by American Freedom Defense Initiative, an organization devoted to fighting “global jihad and Islamic supremacism,’ and headed by Long Island-based Atlas Shrugs blogger Pamela Geller, according to WJLA. » | Agence France-Presse | Sunday, May 18, 2014

The British Government's Jihad against Free Thought

MELANIE PHILLIPS: By banning from the country as extremists the American anti-jihadis Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, the Home Secretary Teresa May has not only made herself look ridiculous but has sent the enemies of the United Kingdom the message that they have it on the run.

I do not support the approach taken by either Geller or Spencer to the problem of Islamic extremism. Both have endorsed groups such as the EDL and others which at best do not deal with the thuggish elements in their ranks and at worst are truly racist or xenophobic.

The result has been a serious blow to the credibility of these two writers, with particular damage being done to Spencer whose scholarship in itself is scrupulous. It has also split the defence against Islamic extremism, and handed a potent propaganda weapon to those who seek falsely to portray as bigoted extremists all who are engaged in the defence of the west against the Islamic jihad.

Nevertheless, the decision to ban this duo from Britain is unjustified, oppressive and comes perilously close to lining up the British government alongside those who wish to silence defenders of the west against the jihad, making a total mockery of Britain’s understanding of just who presents a danger to the state.

Neither Geller nor Spencer remotely presents such a danger. They intended to come to Britain to join an EDL rally in Woolwich, in the wake of the barbaric murder there of Drummer Lee Rigby by two Islamists last month. » | Melanie Phillips | Thursday, June 27, 2013

American Counter-Jihadists Barred from Britain

LIBERTY GB: : Liberty GB supporter Walter Tyler has written to Home Secretary Theresa May condemning her decision to bar American counter-jihad activists Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller

Ref: Refusal to admit Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller

26th June 2013

CC Bill Cash

Dear Home Secretary,

I write in response to your refusal to admit Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller to the UK. I have noted with increasing despondency the way in which Muslims in this country allied with various nefarious leftist elements are able to subvert 'free speech' by protesting the action of law abiding citizens.

I am a former sociologist and have studied Islam in great detail. I would suggest that you delineate between what is religious within Islam and what is political. Clearly killing people in the name of Jihad is not religious and is entirely political. Therefore countering political Islam by protest is entirely legal and should be permitted in a free and democratic society.

Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, two people whose writing and interviews I am familiar with, have never to the best of my knowledge criticised the five pillars of Islam which are its spiritual tenets and its religious aspects. They have therefore not transgressed any law other than the self-appointed Islamic Sharia as applied in this country through you because you are scared of the threats of force made against the government by Islamic groups.

Slander and defamation in Islam is constituted by speaking the truth about someone/ something that the other person does not want uncovered or not advancing Islam. The social situation in this country is declining to such a state where there is an apartheid application of laws against the majority in favour of a politically supremacist minority. The propagation of Islam under British law is illegal since Islam calls for the annihilation of the Jews and the second class dhimmi status for other religious groups and the subsequent payment of protection money or 'jizya'.

Could you advise me what is being done to protect the majority in terms of the law from Islamic attacks including rape which is permitted in the Quran against non-believers? I understand that the law has never been applied against racist or religious attacks against white people or Christians in this country – please advise how the present laws protect both groups?

I also note that your Government is supporting Jihadi groups in Syria who are annihilating minority Shia and Alawite Muslims and Christians. Why are you supporting these groups when Assad is by far the lesser of the two evils?

I have come to the conclusion that Islam and Western Civilization are entirely incompatible. I remind you of the words of Sir Winston Churchill to Neville Chamberlain when he returned from Munich in 1938: "You had the choice between war and dishonour, you chose dishonour but you will get war".

Furthermore, you will be aware of Karl Popper's dictum that if you tolerate the intolerant then your tolerant society will be destroyed.

It appears that the government of this country cares more for the wellbeing of its enemies than it does for its own people. Such a civilization will not survive and indeed does not deserve to survive. The people will not forget and at some stage the belief in the social contract will falter if decisive action is not taken. The people will not have to follow any law of a morally corrupt government that protects a politically supremacist ideology over the interests over its own citizens.

US Bloggers Banned from Entering UK

BBC: Two prominent US bloggers have been banned from entering the UK, the Home Office has said.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer co-founded anti-Muslim group Stop Islamization of America.

They were due to speak at an English Defence League march in Woolwich, where Drummer Lee Rigby was killed.

A government spokesman said individuals whose presence "is not conducive to the public good" could be excluded by the home secretary.

He added: "We condemn all those whose behaviours and views run counter to our shared values and will not stand for extremism in any form."

'Right decision'

Ms Geller, of the Atlas Shrugs blog, and Mr Spencer, of Jihad Watch, are also co-founders of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, best known for a pro-Israel "Defeat Jihad" poster campaign on the New York subway.

On both of their blogs the pair called their bans from entering the UK "a striking blow against freedom" and said the "the nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead".

They were due to attend a march planned by the far-right EDL to mark Armed Forces Day on 29 June, ending in Woolwich, south east London, where soldier Drummer Rigby was murdered last month.

Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, who had called for the bloggers to be banned from the UK, said: "I welcome the home secretary's ban on Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from entering the country. This is the right decision. The UK should never become a stage for inflammatory speakers who promote hate."

EDL leader Tommy Robinson, meanwhile, criticised the decision and said Ms Geller and Mr Spencer were coming to the UK to lay flowers at the place where Drummer Rigby died.

"It's embarrassing for this so-called land of democracy and freedom of speech," he said.

"How many hate preachers are living in this country? It just shows what sort of a two-tier system we have here." » | Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Britain Capitulates to Jihad

JIHAD WATCH: In a striking blow against freedom, the British government has banned us from entering the country. Muhammad al-Arifi, who has advocated Jew-hatred, wife-beating, and jihad violence, entered the U.K. recently with no difficulty. In not allowing us into the country solely because of our true and accurate statements about Islam, the British government is behaving like a de facto Islamic state. The nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead. Leave a comment » | Robert | Wednesday, June 26, 2013

My comment:

I'm sorry to learn that my country has banned your entry into my country. I cannot imagine what the government is thinking about. This is further proof, if indeed further proof is needed, that the United Kingdom is a spent force. It's finished! The Islamisation of the UK from here on in is nothing but a foregone conclusion. The politicians that are elected and paid to lead us are spineless wimps who are incapable of anything other than capitulation. The 'Great' has just been taken out of Great Britain. – © Mark

EDL Rally: Theresa May Considers Banning US Bloggers from UK

BBC: Home Secretary Theresa May is considering banning two US bloggers from entering the UK to speak at an English Defence League rally.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer are due to join an EDL march in Woolwich, where Drummer Lee Rigby was killed.

The pair are prominent "anti-Islamisation" campaigners in the US.

Home affairs committee chairman Keith Vaz claims their presence will fuel hatred and is calling for them to be denied visas.

Mr Vaz said: "I am alarmed that the EDL is planning this type of march in Woolwich. It is clear that the location, motivation and attendees at this march will incite hatred.

"Adding incendiary speakers such as Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer just fuels the fire.

"Before we have to pay the costs for the extra policing required for this demonstration, the Home Secretary should consider using her discretion to ban these two speakers from entering the country.

"A ban should be enforced properly and physically stop people entering our borders."

'Extremists'

The Home Office said it did not routinely comment on individual cases but the home secretary was aware of Mr Vaz's letter and would be responding in due course.

Mrs May has the power to exclude non-British citizens from the UK if she considers their presence to be "not conducive to the public good" but she must act in a "reasonable, proportionate and consistent" way. » | Friday, June 21, 2013

Outrage as EDL Invites 'Incendiary' Right-wing American Speakers to Woolwich March

EXPRESS: THE English Defence League has invited two far-right, anti-Islam activists from America to a party rally in Woolwich, where Drummer Lee Rigby was brutally murdered.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, two high-profile bloggers who founded the 'Stop The Islamization of America' campaign, were invited to speak at the march by the EDL.

The pair are infamously known for their anti-Islam subway posters in New York which read, "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad."

Fears have now been raised over the two "incendiary" right-wing American speakers coming to the UK.

My comment:

Has it ever occurred to the powers-that-be that we wouldn't need all these people in counter-jihad activities if our governments in the West were doing their jobs properly? People feel threatened by the growth of Islam and the activities of the Jihadists. They see that their governments are doing nothing about these phenomena, so they are taking matters into their own hands. One sure-fire way of putting an end to all this would be for our governments to grow backbones, stand up the obvious dangers that lie ahead of us, stop pandering to the people who would bring about an abrupt end to our way of life, and make the people feel safe again. It's really that simple. But there is one proviso: we need politicians with courage; and that is precisely what we do not have. – © Mark

Toronto Rabbi Drops Plan to Host Anti-Islam Firebrand Pamela Geller

JTA: TORONTO (JTA) -- A speaking engagement by American anti-Islamic firebrand Pamela Geller was moved following police intervention.

Geller, a vocal critic of radical Islam, was due to speak May 13 at a Chabad synagogue in Thornhill, north of Toronto, but the synagogue's rabbi, Mendel Kaplan, backed out after a visit by the hate crimes unit of local police.

“Rabbi Kaplan decided to cancel Ms. Geller's appearance, as it would place him in conflict with the values of our organization, which support a safe, welcoming and inclusive community for all," read a statement issued May 2 by the York Regional Police. San Francisco Leaders Denounce Bus Ads About Islam

SIOUX CITY JOURNAL: SAN FRANCISCO | San Francisco leaders have denounced a series of what they call anti-Islamic advertisements that began appearing on 10 city buses on Monday, calling them racist and offensive.

At least one of the ads contains a quote attributed to the militant Islamic group Hamas that reads: "Killing Jews is worship that brings us closer to Allah."

Mayor Ed Lee, District Attorney George Gascon and other elected officials joined Arab and Muslim community leaders to publicly condemn the ads on Monday.

"These offensive ads serve no purpose than to denigrate our city's Arab and Muslim communities," Gascon said. » | Associated Press | Friday, March 15, 2013

'Controversial Anti-Islam Ads Set for Washington DC'

THE JERUSALEM POST: 'Washington Post' reports inflammatory ad equating jihad with savagery to be posted in 4 DC subways beginning Monday.

A federal judge has ordered the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Agency to begin displaying controversial advertisements beginning Monday in Washington DC, The Washington Post reported on Saturday.

The decision came last Friday in a one-page ruling by US District Judge Rosemary Collyer, granting an injunction to the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) that sought to force Metro to display provocative posters in four stations, the Washington Post reported, even though the transit agency has worried the ads might incite violence. The posters were scheduled to be displayed for a month starting Sept. 24, but were delayed until the court decision.

The ads will say: "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man," the ad reads. "Support Israel/Defeat Jihad."

Rabbi's for Human Rights in North America plans to take out subway ads urging riders to "choose love" in what the Jewish group's director calls a response to the anti-jihad advertisements, The Jewish Weekly reported Friday.

The Rabbis for Human Rights' ads say, "In the choice between love and hate, choose love. Help stop bigotry against our Muslim neighbors.” » | JPOST.COM STAFF | Reuters contributed to this report | Saturday, October 06, 2012

Islam's Critics Won't Be Silenced

LOS ANGELES TIMES: Nathan Lean wants "society" to take action against those who stand for freedom and human rights against jihad, Sharia and Islamic supremacism, for we "must be stopped." This is a veiled but clear call for restrictions on our freedom of speech. By publishing it on its Aug. 26 Op-Ed page, The Times is working against its own interests. For my opinions are certainly politically incorrect today, but if Lean succeeds in getting them criminalized, editors at The Times might find one day that they too hold an opinion unacceptable to those in power.

Lean thinks that "society" should act against my colleague Pamela Geller and me because the Norwegian mass murdererAnders Behring Breivik cited us in his manifesto. But actually, Breivik cited many, many people, including Barack Obama,John F. Kennedy and Thomas Jefferson -- who are never blamed for Breivik's murders. Also swept under the rug is the fact that Breivik’s manifesto is ideologically incoherent: So far was he from being a doctrinaire counter-jihadist that he wanted to aid Hamas and ally with jihad groups. Brevik’s real inspiration for his violence was, by his own account, Al Qaeda, as becomes clear in his manifesto when he spends 25 pages quoting extensively from the Koran and other Islamic sources. I am no more responsible for Breivik than the Beatles are for Charles Manson.

Indeed, the whole attempt to smear Geller and me with Breivik’s murders rests on several leaps of illogic and unstated assumptions. Even if Breivik’s views really were exactly the same as ours, would it therefore hold that if someone commits violence in the name of an idea, that idea is thereby discredited and must be driven out of the public discourse? In that case, precious few ideas would be left, since people at one time or another have committed violence in the name of virtually every cause under the sun. » | Robert Spencer | Tuesday, August 28, 2012

Anti-Islamic Ad Claiming "It's Not Islamophobia, It's Islamorealism" Goes Up in NY Train Stations

CBS NEWS: LARCHMONT, N.Y. - An anti-Islamic advertisement has gone up at several Metro-North Railroad stations in Westchester County.

It reads: "It's not Islamophobia, it's Islamorealism."

The signs were paid for by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, an organization ran by blogger and political activist Pamela Geller. It associates Islam with 19,250 terrorist attacks carried out by extremists since the 9/11. She told CBS radio station 1010 WINS in New York that the sign is intended to tell people that it is not "Islamophobic' to oppose jihad terror."

"The ad is just stating a fact. There have been well over 19,000 jihadi attacks since 9/11," Geller said. "People need to know this. Obviously, everybody is surprised by this number and I think that's part of the reason why we need to run these ads. People need to know this is going on across the world."

The Metropolitan Transpiration Authority in New York (MTA) said it doesn't support the sentiment displayed in the ad but doesn't bar advertising based on content, according to CBS station WCBS in New York. » | CBS/AP | Friday, August 17, 2012

The US Blogger On A Mission to Halt 'Islamic Takeover'

THE GUARDIAN: New York blogger Pamela Geller is a key force in the campaign to stop Islamic centre near Ground Zero

Pamela Geller is on a mission to save the free world and she's doing it, on this occasion, in a bikini as she writhes around in the sea.

"Here I am in my chador, my burka," Geller jokes to the camera in one of a string of video blogs campaigning against Islamic "world domination" shortly before kicking back in the waves. "There is a serious reality check desperately needed here in America and I'm here to give it to you, but I'm just not ginormous enough. What can I say? And on that note I'm going to go swimming in the ocean, and visit my mama, and fight for the free world."

This strange performance might suggest that Geller is a figure consigned to the margins of the widening and increasingly heated debate about the role of Muslims in America. Far from it.

The flamboyant New Yorker, who appears on her own website pictured in a tight fitting Superman uniform, has emerged as a leading force in a growing and ever more alarmist campaign against the supposed threat of an Islamic takeover at home and global jihad abroad – and never more so than in the present bitter dispute over plans to build an Islamic centre near the site of the World Trade Centre, brought down by al-Qaida.

Geller has been at the forefront of drumming up opposition to the centre, two blocks from Ground Zero, through an array of websites such as the Freedom Defence Initiative (FDI) and Stop Islamisation of America (SIOA). They have become increasingly influential as conservative politicians exploit anti-Muslim sentiment before November's congressional and state elections.

SIOA is behind a series of advertisements opposing the "Ground Zero Mega Mosque", as Geller calls it, which appeared on the sides of New York buses this week picturing a plane flying into one of the World Trade Centre towers and a mosque divided by the question: Why Here?

Geller's answer is that the planned centre is viewed by Muslims as a "triumphal" monument built on "conquered land".

As extreme as that may seem, Geller and her views have been embraced by leading politicians such as Newt Gingrich, the former Republican speaker of the US House of Representatives, and John Bolton, the conservative former US ambassador to the UN, who are scheduled to speak at a rally against the controversial New York Islamic centre organised by Geller for September 11.

Gingrich this week likened the planned centre to putting Nazi signs outside the Holocaust museum. >>> Chris McGreal in Washington | Friday, August 20, 2010
