Trump Regime Defames Americans
‘No More Trump!’: Protesters Denouncing the President Unite Across the Country
THE NEW YORK TIMES: Large crowds turned out at ‘No Kings’ rallies on Saturday that took place in large cities and small towns nationwide.
They were teachers and lawyers, military veterans and fired government employees. Children and grandmothers, students and retirees.
Arriving in droves across the country in major cities and small towns, they appeared in costumes, blared music, brandished signs, hoisted American flags and cheered at the honks of passing cars.
The vibe in most places was irreverent but peaceful and family-friendly. The purpose, however, was focused. Each crowd, everywhere, shared the same mantra: No kings.
Collectively, the daylong mass demonstration against the Trump administration on Saturday, held in thousands of locations, condemned a president that the protesters view as acting like a monarch.
Many had attended a similar event in June, but the months since had seen President Trump make a dizzying array of changes in quick succession.
This time, the crowds included a new round of protesters, those who said they were outraged over immigration raids, the deployment of federal troops in cities, government layoffs, steep budget cuts, the chipping away of voting rights, the rollback of vaccine requirements, the reversal on treaties with tribes and the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill. » | Corina Knoll | Published: Saturday, October 18, 2025. Millions across All 50 US States March in No Kings Protests against Trump
THE GUARDIAN: Events scheduled in more than 2,700 towns and cities, aligning behind message that US is sliding into authoritarianism
Americans across all 50 states began marching in protests against the Trump administration on Saturday, aligning behind a message that the country is sliding into authoritarianism and there should be no kings in the US.
Millions of people have turned out for the No Kings protests, the second iteration of a coalition that marched in June in one of the largest days of protest in US history. Events are scheduled for more than 2,700 locations, from small towns to large cities, reflecting a decentralization in an anti-Donald Trump protest movement that focused on demonstrations in Washington DC during his first presidency.
The rallies are a turnaround from just six months ago, when Democrats seemed at a loss as to how to counter Republicans’ grip of the White House and both houses of Congress after stinging national election losses.
“What we are seeing from the Democrats is some spine,” Ezra Levin, a co-founder of Indivisible, a key organizing group, told the Associated Press. “The worst thing the Democrats could do right now is surrender.”
In Chicago, at Grant Park’s Butler Field, at least 10,000 people assembled, many with signs opposing federal immigration agents or mocking Trump. TV stations with feeds from protests warned viewers they could not be responsible for the language used in the signage.
Some of them said “Hands Off Chicago”, a rallying cry that began when the president first announced his intent to send the national guard into the city. Others read “Resist Fascism”, but many others used language unsuitable for broadcast.
The crowd erupted in chants of “Fuck Donald Trump” when Illinois representative Jonathan Jackson took the stage. » | Rachel Leingang and Edward Helmore | Saturday, October 18, 2025
Trump must be the most hated president ever! If I am not greatly mistaken, this presidency will not have a happy ending. Trump is likely to leave the White House in ignominy. — © Mark Alexander

Protesters Denouncing Trump Unite Across the Country
THE NEW YORK TIMES: Demonstrators were expected to rally in more than 2,600 cities and towns for ‘No Kings’ events.
Thousands of protesters gathered in cities and towns across the nation on Saturday to condemn a president they view as acting like a king, part of a daylong mass demonstration against the Trump administration.
By noon, a large crowd had flooded Times Square in New York amid a carnival-like atmosphere with colorful signs, one that announced “I Pledge Allegiance to No King.” Protesters sported costumes, including the inflatable frog ensemble that activists in Portland, Ore., began wearing to poke fun at the White House’s attempt to portray activists as anarchists or domestic terrorists.
“No more Trump!” the crowd chanted as they waved American flags.
Known as No Kings Day, the events are building off a previous demonstration in June that had considerable turnouts at roughly 2,000 rallies in all 50 states. This time, about 600 additional protests were scheduled to take place, a majority of those in rural areas, said Eunic Epstein-Ortiz, the national spokeswoman for the coalition behind the event.
In Atlanta, thousands arrived at a downtown parking lot where the mood was mellow, but attendees expressed frustration over the tactics of the Trump administration. » | Corina Knoll | Saturday, October 18, 2025
