Muslims Urged to Abstain from Voting Because 'Democracy Violates the Right of Allah'

The garish yellow posters have been plastered around Cardiff
DAILY EXPRESS: CONTROVERSIAL posters urging Muslims to turn their backs on the ballot box because "none have the right to vote but Allah" have been plastered across the city of Cardiff.

The garish yellow flyers which read "democracy is a system whereby man violates the right of Allah" were stuck on lamp-posts and bus stops this week in Grangetown - a predominantly Muslim area of the Welsh capital.

Ahead of next month's general election, the posters also say: "Islam is the only real workable solution for the UK," before carrying the hashtag #Dontboteformanmadelaw [sic].

Cardiff Council workers have begun removing the "chilling" and "threatening" posters.

Parent Greg Pycroft, 36, was with his two-year-old son when he came across 20 posters plastered on his walk to nursery.

The Welsh Government worker said: "It was quite chilling and threatening to see these posters." » | Rebecca Perring | Saturday, April 18, 2015

UK: Sharia Courts Abusing Muslim Women

BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS: The report shows how the increasing influence of Sharia law in Britain today is undermining the fundamental principle that there must be equality for all British citizens under a single law of the land.

“I feel betrayed by Britain. I came here to get away from this and the situation is worse here than in the country I escaped from.” — Muslim woman interviewed for the report.

The report concludes by calling on the British government to launch a judge-led inquiry to “determine the extent to which discriminatory Sharia law principles are being applied within the UK.”

“The government’s response will be a litmus test of the extent to which it genuinely upholds the principle of equality before the law or is so dominated by the fear of ‘giving offense’ that it will continue to allow these women to suffer in ways which would make our suffragettes turn in their graves.” — Baroness Caroline Cox.

Muslim women across Britain are being systematically oppressed, abused and discriminated against by Sharia law courts that treat women as second-class citizens, according to a new report, which warns against the spiraling proliferation of Islamic tribunals in the United Kingdom.

The 40-page report, “A Parallel World: Confronting the Abuse of Many Muslim Women in Britain Today,” was authored by Baroness Caroline Cox, a cross-bench member of the British House of Lords and one of the leading defenders of women’s rights in the UK.

'Britain in Danger of Being Outflanked by Growing Islamic Population' Says Church Leader

Reverend David Robertson
DAILY EXPRESS: “SPINELESS” politicians are ignoring the rise of Islam in the UK, according to a prominent church minister.

And the Reverend David Robertson, who will soon take over as Moderator of the Free Church of Scotland, also says there is no such thing as “secular Islam”.

His comments come as debate rages throughout Britain as to how to tackle the issue of radical proponents of the religion without alienating minority communities.

But the minister stressed that although he opposes “racist, jingoistic Islamophobia, the fear of Islamophobia is blinding many of our politicians to the threat we face from Islam”.

Mr Robertson has accused politicians of leading the country down a “path of destruction away from the Christian foundations of our nation” by appeasing Muslims.

Writing on the Christian Today website, he said that politicians are either ignorant of the nature of Islam, or frightened of being labelled racist for speaking out about it. He said: “Christianity is the bedrock and foundation of our secular society. Islam is different. Islam has no doctrine of separation of the spiritual from the political. Islam is, and has always been, a political movement.

“There can be no such thing as secular Islam.

“The narrative is that Islam is the same as Christianity, that ISIS and others are just fundamentalists who are not really part of the ‘religion of peace’ and that Christians have their own ISIS equivalents. All untrue. » | Dean Herbert | Wednesday, April 08, 2015

Theresa May Wants a Police File of Muslim Hate

DAILY EXPRESS: POLICE forces will collect statistics on hate crimes committed against Muslims, the Tories propose if they win the General Election.

Attacks on Muslims Will Become Specific Hate Crime, Say Tories in Bid to Establish Full Extent of Islamophobia in Britain

DAILY MAIL: All police would record anti-Muslim hate crimes if Tories win the Election / Islamophobic attacks would be separate category, like anti-Semitic crimes / At present some police forces, including Met, record these crimes as such / Would create accurate picture of the extent of these hate crimes in Britain

Every police force in England and Wales will be required to record anti-Muslim hate crimes and treat them as seriously as anti-Semitic attacks if the Tories win the next General Election, Theresa May has announced.

In a move hailed by Islamic groups, Mrs May said that police will have to record Islamophobic attacks as a separate category, just as anti-Semitic crimes are recorded separately.

At present some forces, including London’s Metropolitan Police, do record Islamophobic crimes as such. Other forces categorise them as hate crimes or specific offences such as assault or grievous bodily harm.

The new requirement will create the first accurate picture of the extent of Islamophobic hate crimes in Britain.

Charities say there has been a steady rise of anti-Muslim hate crimes since 9/11.

But after incidents such as the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby outside Woolwich barracks in 2013 and the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January, there are spikes in incidents in the UK, say experts.

Mrs May made her pledge in a speech on counter-extremism to the Foundation for Peace in London just before Parliament was dissolved.

She told the conference: ‘We will require police forces to record anti-Muslim crimes as well as anti-Semitic crimes.’ Read on and comment » | Abul Taher for the Mail On Sunday | Saturday, April 04, 2015

Christianity On Course to Be Minority Religion in UK

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Global study predicts one in nine Britons will be Muslim by 2050 but UK set to become of least religious countries in the world overall

Christians will be a minority in the UK by the middle of his century amid surging growth in atheism and Islam, an authoritative new study charting the future of the world’s religions predicts.

According to projections by the US-based Pew Research Centre, the proportion of the British population identifying themselves as Christian will reduce by almost a third by 2050 to stand at just 45.4 per cent, compared with almost two thirds in 2010.

The number of Muslims in Britain is predicted to more than double to 11.3 per cent, or one in nine of the total population during that time.

But the reports predicts that biggest change in the religious make-up of Britain in the next three and a half decades will be a major expansion in the number of non-religious people.

They would account for just under 39 per cent, challenging Christians as the biggest faith community in the UK. » | John Bingham, Religious Affairs Editor | Thursday, April 02, 2015

British Muslims Condemn Terror Laws for Creating 'Witch-hunt' against Islam

Moazzam Begg of Cage is one of the signatories to the public statement.
THE GUARDIAN: Strongly worded public statement, which includes signatories from Cage and Hizb ut-Tahrir, condemns ‘crude and divisive’ government election tactics

Anti-Muslim rhetoric and “endless ‘anti-terror’ laws” are in danger of creating a McCarthyite witch-hunt against Muslims, according to the signatories of a strongly worded public statement, who include several controversial figures.

The statement accuses the government of “criminalising” Islam and trying to silence “legitimate critique and dissent”, and decries what it describes as “the ongoing demonisation of Muslims in Britain [and] their values, as well as prominent scholars, speakers and organisations.”

Signatories of the statement include Moazzam Begg, director of outreach for Cage, the organisation that came under fire last week after it sought to explain the radicalisation of Isis killer Mohammed Emwazi. Members of Islamist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in several countries including Germany, have also signed the statement.

It comes after it was revealed earlier this week that the Home Office is planning a “more assertive” stance against extremism, with a series of measures including imposing penalties on benefit claimants who do not learn English and making visa applicants commit themselves to “British values”.

The statement, seen by the Guardian, reads: “We reject the portrayal of Muslims and the Muslim community as a security threat. The latest act of parliament, the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act, threatens to create a ‘McCarthyite’ witch-hunt against Muslims, with nursery workers, schoolteachers and universities expected to look out for signs of increased Islamic practice as signs of ‘radicalisation’.”

The signatories state that the “Muslim issue” is being exploited for political capital in the run[-]up to the general election. » | Alexandra Topping, Nishaat Ismail, Shiv Malik | Wednesday, March 11, 2015

"Britain Is the Enemy of Islam"

One Month of Islam in Britain: January 2015

GATESTONE INTITUTE: "Contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace, but rather submission to the commands of Allah alone. Therefore Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people's desires." — Anjem Choudary, British Islamist.

"Britain is the enemy of Islam." — Mizanur Rahman, Muslim cleric at Palmers Green, north London.

"Brothers and sisters, we would not be here had it not been for the fact that the kafir [non-Muslims] had gone to our lands and killed our people and raped and pillaged our resources... Stop putting freedom on this pedestal." — Aysh Chaudhry, Muslim trainee lawyer at London-based law firm, Clifford Chance.

"The firm is committed to establishing an inclusive culture where people with diverse backgrounds and views work effectively together and feel confident to develop their potential." — Spokesperson for Clifford Chance law firm.

Oxford University Press warned its authors not to mention pigs or sausages in their books, to avoid causing offense to Muslims.

Tarek Kafala, the head of BBC Arabic, said that the term "terrorist" was too "loaded" to describe the actions of the men who killed 12 people in the attack on the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo.

"We know that acts of extremism are not representative of Islam; but we need to show what is." — Communities Secretary Eric Pickles, in a letter to 1,000 imams across Britain, asking for their help in fighting extremism.

Following is a brief summary of some of the main stories involving Islam and Islam-related issues in Britain during January 2015, categorized into three broad themes: 1) Islamic extremism; 2) British multiculturalism; and 3) Muslim integration into British society. Muslim Population in England and Wales Nearly Doubles in 10 Years

THE GUARDIAN: More children and fewer elderly people help Muslim population grow faster than population overall, analysis of latest census data shows

Prince Charles Tells British Muslims 'If You Live in Our Country, Abide by Our Values'

SUNDAY EXPRESS: PRINCE Charles issued an extraordinary rallying cry today calling on Muslims living in the UK to show more respect for British values.

The heir to the throne railed against the radicalisation of young British men by Islamist extremists as he launched an impassioned defence of Britain's "Christian" heritage.

Telling British muslims that they should show more respect for "the values we hold dear," the Prince revealed that he was terrified by the influence of radical preachers who spread their teachings on the internet.

In an unprecedented outburst, he said: "The radicalisation of people in Britain is a great worry, and the extent to which this is happening is alarming, particularly in a country like ours where we hold values dear.

"You would think the people who have come here, or are born here, and go to school here, would abide by those values and outlooks."

He added that it was "frightening" that young British Muslims were being radicalised by "crazy stuff on the internet".

The outspoken comments are a further sign that the Prince is not prepared to keep quiet on political causes close to his heart, despite assuming more and more responsibility from the Queen.

They came as he started a six-day tour of the Middle East in his mother's place, during which he has been urged to speak out against the barbaric practises of some Gulf states.

It is understood that the Prince will challenge new Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud over the terrible punishment handed down to blogger Raif Badawi when the pair meet face to face this week. » | Nick Gutteridge | Sunday, February 08, 2015

Muslim Convert 'Stabs Controlling Boyfriend to Death in Row about Western Lifestyle'

Sarah Willis, left in court, told the court she was forced to
comply with Islamic standards of dress
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Court hears Sarah Willis claimed Bilal Saddique wanted her to comply with Islamic standards of dress and hated her wearing 'tight and short clothing'

A teenage girl who converted to Islam stabbed her Muslim boyfriend to death after they encountered "cultural difficulties" over her Westernised lifestyle, a court heard.

Law firm worker Sarah Willis, 19, claimed BT engineer Bilal Saddique was a "controlling man" who had wanted her to comply with Islamic standards of dress and hated her wearing "tight and short clothing" because "other men looked at her", jurors were told.

Later during a violent row over her friendship with a work colleague, Willis stabbed 29-year old Mr Saddique in the leg at the home they shared in Blackburn, Lancashire, causing a wound that severed an artery, a jury was told.

He was found collapsed on the kitchen floor as she attempted to stem the flow of blood with a towel. He died in hospital an hour later despite attempts to revive him.

Preston Crown Court was told last year's tragedy was the climax of the couple's stormy three year on-off relationship that began after Wills converted to Islam when she was a schoolgirl. » | Agency | Tuesday, February 03, 2015

Secret Halal Slaughterhouse Film Reveals 'Horrific' Animal Abuse

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Hidden cameras show horrific mistreatment of sheep in Bowood Yorkshire Lamb slaughterhouse in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. WARNING this piece contains graphic video some viewers may find distressing

Disturbing footage showing "routine abuse" of sheep in a halal slaughterhouse has reignited the debate over whether animals should be stunned before they are killed for meat.

Under halal law, animals are supposed to be killed quickly by single cut from a surgically-sharp knife.

Although 80 per cent of halal meat is stunned, the number of sheep killed without stunning is rising due to campaigning by Muslims, figures show.

Secret filming in an halal abattoir in Yorkshire showed "horrifying" treatment of animals killed without stunning.

Workers were shown hacking and sawing at the animals' throats with apparently blunt knives. In one instance the procedure, which according to Islamic law should be instantaneous, took five attempts.

Halal rules also state that animals should never see the knife or witness others being killed, protecting them against unnecessary trauma.

But the footage showed a man wearing a Muslim kufi skullcap at Bowood Lamb abattoir in Thirsk regularly sharpening knives in front of the sheep. Due to the design of the slaughterhouse, in which animals were forced on to conveyor belts, the sheep typically saw another member of the flock having its throat cut, bleeding on the floor and being hoisted and shackled. Baroness Warsi Launches Bitter Assault On Coalition Strategy Towards Muslims

THE GUARDIAN: Former Tory chair targets Michael Gove for criticism and says failure to engage with the community ‘has fuelled resentment’

Lady Warsi has delivered a blistering critique of the government’s approach towards Britain’s Muslims, warning that failure to engage properly with communities across the UK has created a climate of suspicion and undermined the fight against extremism.

In her first major intervention on the relationship between Muslims and the rest of society since she resigned from the cabinet five months ago, Warsi says the coalition’s policy of non-engagement has caused deep unease and resentment towards the government.

Writing in the Observer, Warsi warns that the government’s stance is counterproductive at a time of heightened national security. This month has seen warnings from MI5 that an attack on the UK is “highly likely” in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris on 8 January. » | Mark Townsend | Saturday, January 24, 2015

US Governor Denounces So-called Muslim 'No-go Zones' in London Speech

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Bobby Jindal insists Islamic-controlled enclaves exist in Britain and western Europe despite recent controversy over "Muslim-only" Birmingham claims on Fox News

A leading US Republican governor has condemned the alleged existence of so-called Muslim “no-go zones” in Britain and western Europe during a visit to Parliament in London.

Bobby Jindal, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, made his claims that such areas existed in British cities, even though an assertion last week by a right-wing US terrorism commentator that Birmingham was a Muslim-only city has been widely ridiculed.

The Louisiana governor decried the existence of the “no-go zones” in a speech to the Henry Jackson Society in the House of Commons on Monday.

Asked later in an interview with CNN on Parliament Green whether he would back away from his claims following the recent controversy, he said: “Not at all.” He declined to name specific examples to illustrate his claims, but said: “I’ve heard from folks here [in London] that there are neighbourhoods where women don’t feel comfortable going in without veils.

“That’s wrong. We all know that there are neighbourhoods where police are less likely to go into. » | Philip Sherwell, New York | Monday, January 19, 2015

Top Law Firm Employee's Video Diatribe Against 'Apologetic' Muslims in Wake of Charlie Hebdo Attack

Aysh Chaudhry, a trainee at Clifford Chance, appears in
20-minute long video on YouTube
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Clifford Chance trainee launches 'venomous' 20-minute YouTube rant against the 'kuffars', urging fellow Muslims not to become 'enslaved' by the West

A top international law firm employee has launched an online diatribe against “apologetic” moderate Muslims in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.

Aysh Chaudhry, a trainee at Clifford Chance, appears in a 20-minute video on Youtube [sic], delivered mainly in English but interspersed with Arabic, in which he claimed that Islam is “superior” to Western ideologies and uses the word "kuffar" repeatedly, a derogatory term for non-Muslims.

The video is introduced by the same Arabic chant that is used on many jihadist websites including Al-Qaeda and Isis, and translates as: "Islam has become for us a religion and the entire universe is home for us".

Mr Chaudry says he is addressing the "events in Paris that have taken place over the last few days", which he condemns, and criticises Muslims whose minds have become "colonised" by the West.

The 22-year-old, who earns a salary of £40,500, urges his "brothers and sisters" to move away from the “apologetic tone" adopted by some Muslims following the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris, adding that they should "have confidence in Islam because we are enslaved otherwise.”

He calls freedom of speech a "bankrupt ideology", adding: "We are becoming infatuated with the civilisation of the kuffar and their beliefs and their values and indeed we have latched on to these.

"Now you know who you are if you are of those who state 'I will die to protect your freedom and I believe in freedom of speech'.

"But understand that it is not the Islamic response to this issue. It represents a defeatist mentality, brothers and sisters." » | Camilla Turner | Monday, January 19, 2015
