THE TELEGRAPH: Iran-backed movement says it has launched three attacks towards Israel since Oct 7 and vows more ‘to help Palestinians to victory’
Israel deployed warships to the Red Sea on Wednesday after Yemen’s Houthis declared war and launched a ballistic missile at an Israeli city.
Images released by the Israeli military showed Sa’ar-class corvettes patrolling near Eilat port in the Red Sea, which Israel sees as a new front as its war in Gaza draws retaliation from Iran-backed forces elsewhere in the region.
On Tuesday, the Houthis said they had launched three drone and missile attacks towards Israel since the start of the Hamas-Israel war on Oct 7. They vowed there would be more such attacks “to help the Palestinians to victory”.
The Israeli military used its Arrow missile defence system for the first time to intercept an “aerial threat” over the Red Sea, believed to have been a ballistic missile. » | Telegraph’s Foreign Staff | Wednesday, November 1, 2023

US Strikes Two Syria Bases Used by Iran-linked Groups - BBC News
Oct 27, 2023 | The US has carried out air strikes against two weapons and ammunition storage facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said the strikes were in response to recent attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria by Iranian-backed militia groups.
The US strikes were "separate and distinct from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas," he said in a statement.
Iran did not immediately comment. It is not yet known if there were any casualties from the attacks.

BBC World: Iran's "Sex-Change" Solution | Long Version | Reupload
If you are born with a sense of aesthetics which makes you predisposed to being attracted to people of the same sex, i.e. you are homo — Shh! — and further, you are born in a country such as Iran which is governed and ruled by the benighted, by old farts who continue even to this day to believe in the omnipotence of the old man in the sky, the old man who is so vain and insecure that he demands to be worshipped constantly and thought about during your every waking minute, and praised! — oh how much he wants and needs to be praised! — you know, the old dude with a long, long, white beard who is watching over your every move, even when you’re in the crapper!, and who is omnipotent to punish you for acting on the predispositions with which he created you, and for satisfying your desires, maybe with a tender kiss on your lover’s lips, yet he is totally and utterly impotent to stop natural disasters, such natural disasters as earthquakes, inundations, and wildfires. If you are born in such a country, this might be your fate. You might be asked, nay ordered, to change the sex with which the old man in the sky endowed you! – © Mark Alexander

Iran Warns of ‘Multiple Fronts’ If Israel’s Gaza Attacks Continue.
THE NEW YORK TIMES: Iran’s foreign minister spoke after a whirlwind tour of allies in the region. Israel’s northern border with Lebanon is being closely monitored as the first potential flashpoint where the war could spread.

Iran’s foreign minister warned on Monday that a regional network of militias known in parts of the Middle East as the “axis of resistance” would open “multiple fronts” against Israel if its attacks continued to kill civilians in Gaza.
“Time is running out very fast,” the official, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, said during a live televised interview with Iranian state television on Monday night. “If the war crimes against the Palestinians are not immediately stopped, other multiple fronts will open and this is inevitable.”
Mr. Amir Abdollahian spoke after returning to Tehran from a tour of capitals aligned or close to Iran. He met the top political official of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Doha, Qatar; the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, in Beirut; and President Bashar al-Assad of Syria in Damascus.
In the interview, he said that in those meetings, the leaders of what is regionally called “the resistance” told him that “their hands are on the trigger” and said that “pre-emptive action” was possible “in the coming few hours” because those leaders would “naturally not allow the Zionist regime to do whatever it wants in Gaza” and then turn its attention to them. » | Farnaz Fassihi | Published: Monday, October 16, 2023; updated: Tuesday, October 17, 2023
