The murder of Gemayal was the lead story yesterday morning. I spent the morning swearing a blue streak and saying over and over, "There goes Lebanon."

We never have a day with good news, do we?

Always & Temple:

It looks as if the Lebanon will be plunged into civil war again. It will certainly be a miracle if it isn't.

Tony Blair's calling for Syria to join in the peace efforts is absurd. Syria has been doing the very opposite of promoting peace. The Syrians are in cahoots with the Iranians, so how could we ever trust them? And now this assassination.

Always, I agree: We can't seem to go a day without some tragic event or another. It's all bad news.

Mark,
I get the feeling that "things" are accelerating. Have you seen THIS?

AlwaysOnWatch,

The link you gave IS very frightening! What is your opinion of what may be happening?

And Mark? What do you make of this?

Mark said...

Always, it is understandable to see that you discern that events are accelerating, but we have to be careful not to read too much into these things, too.

When we put things together like this, we can easily draw false conclusions, and we can easily come to the wrong conclusions, too. Personally, I prefer to wait and see.

Please see my answer to Always, above. I am not trying to play things down; but nor am I trying to play things up. I think we shall just have to wait and see how things develop. I do not have a crystal ball!

One thing is for sure: The state of the world is BAD, and it is getting worse.

When will the free world wake up to the fact that savages are at war with the West, determined to force us to convert to their barbaric, brutal, Bedouin religion or to kill us? Oh that we had a leader who had the courage and wisdom and determination of a Winston Churchill or a Harry Truman or a Ronald Reagan. Alas we seem to have only money, vote grubbing politicians who care only about themselves and who don't know how to fight their way out of a paper bag. What a bunch of bloody idiots.

USIP:

People are beginning to wake up, I believe; though only very slowly. Now we need to be led into the 'battle' to save our nations and the West from this onslaught of barbarism.
