Ghana: - Its Anti-Gay Law Must Surely Be Vetoed in the Name of Commonn Sense, Mercy, and Compassion

AVAAZ: Days ago Parliament passed a horrific anti-gay bill. If it becomes law, innocent people could be locked up when all they want is to love in peace. Many have gone into hiding. Others are already fleeing the country.

But let’s not lose hope.

President Nana Akufo-Addo could veto the bill and stop it from becoming law. We know he doesn't actually support it - he understands how bad it is for Ghana’s international reputation.

“We are deeply worried about the national bill that plans to send people to prison because of their sexual orientation. We call on you to veto the anti-gay bill to become law in Ghana.”
