This is yet more evidence of the compassion and mercy of Islam! It also shows how dedicated Muslims are to freedom of thought and expression. And this is the 'religion' our political leaders want to swamp Europe with by allowing Turkey to accede to the European Union! Doesn't it beggar belief that a 'holy' man can call for an innocent man's death? The man's greatest 'crime' is expressing what he thinks.

When I read this post, I burst out laughing. Afterall, surely no one alive in 2006 would dream of killing someone for expresssing his opinions. But on reflection, I realized this is not funny at all, as it is pathetically true. This account provides clear and convincing proof that the initiative to take democracy to the Islamic world is both absurd and futile. These folks are not ready for democracy as they have a mindset rooted in the seventh century. Further, they do not want democracy as it is contrary to their benighted 'religion'. (Note: I put religion in quotes as Islam is not really a religion in the ordinary sense of the word, rather it is a barbaric, medieval political system thinly disguised as a religion. This is actually very clever as it give a divine justification to killing one's enemies, for subjugating women, for imposing barbaric punishments for relatively minor offenses, for killing people who do not believe as they do, for throwing perceived sinners from minarets and for hating Jews.)
In the Islamic world, people are killed for their opinions all the time. It's par for the course.
