British Airways employee loses fight to wear crucifix
BBC: A British Airways (BA) employee has lost her fight to openly wear a cross necklace at work at Heathrow.

Nadia Eweida, 55, of Twickenham, has been on unpaid leave since her bosses told her she could not visibly wear her cross at the check-in counter.

She found out she had lost her appeal against the decision by BA when she met with the airline bosses on Monday. Woman loses fight to wear cross

Uneducated and stupid are not the same thing. I stopped listening at school before I was twelve, stopped attending by thirteen, formally left with zero qualifications at 15 - and was living in military barracks the next night.

I'm 54 now and educated to postgraduate level, with a good (2.1) first Degree from a good university (I still had no qualifications when I entered university, but an essay I wrote convinced the admissions tutor to let me in).

Don't denigrate yourself - you're doing ok. You've got it spot on ... " ... but come on ..." was an EXACTLY appropriate thing to say.

The only reference to the word 'crucifix' is from me! I wrote that headline. I wasn't aware that there was a difference between a cross and a crucifix in terms of size, though I know that a crucifix usually has Jesus on the cross. Perhaps the word 'cross' would have been more appropriate.

I shall have to watch my p's and q's from now on! :-)

"BA said Ms Eweida had been offered a non-uniformed post were she would be able to openly wear her cross but had refused to take it."

I'm glad to know she is appealing this decision. I wonder if the folks in the hijabs and turbans are forced to work in non-uniformed posts?

I found more good news about Europeans standing up for their rights,

This is such good news!

Thank you so much for this link. I would like to blog it later in the day. I'm strapped for time right now as I have to go out. Naturally, I shall give you credit for drawing it to my attention when I do.

Huh, it seems that there's a law for the minorities and a law for the Christians working for BA. It's a disgrace. I hope this lady wins her case. BA deserves all it gets for this (if it gets anything)! She should be able to sue the company, and take them to the cleaners, meanwhile we should all boycott BA for this nastiness and stupidity!

THAT'S IT!
I'm never flying BA again. Bastards.

... quite frankly am discusted.

Like us all! Any sane person would be.

last time i checked the national flag of this country was a cross, the dominant religion of the country was cristianity..

Yes, I agree; but for how much longer? We have allowed so many Muslim immigrants into the country, both legal and illegal, that they will out-procreate the Christians unless there are some major social changes in the very near future.

Ridiculous decisions like his one from a flagship British company can only damage Britian still further.

Furthermore, it isn't even fair. How can it be fair for people of other religions to express their faith openly and force a Christian to conceal his or her faith under her clothes? This is discrimination of a blatant kind.

The fact is that Christians have very few ways of dressing to express their devotion to Christianity other than to wear a cross.

Viking Swede: I don't blame you at all for taking that decision. More should follow your lead. That's the best way to hit them: in the purse.

Now wait. Shikhs are allowed to wear turbans and Muslim women, hijab, and Muslim and Jewish men, skull caps, right, but a Christian is not allowed to wear a tiny cross on a fine chain? Correct?

It's time Christians stand up for their religious rights.
