CHURCH OF ENGLAND NEWSPAPER: THE BRITISH media needs to be more balanced in its coverage of Islam, according to members of Christian-Muslim dialogue groups. On the fifth anniversary of the atrocities of 9/11 in New York, suspicion of Islam in the UK is higher than ever, as shown in a recent YouGov poll in which 53 per cent of respondents felt they thought Islam was a threat to Western liberal democracy. "Mr Bond called for Christians to get to know Muslims so they could better understand them, by spending time together, sharing meals and even reading scripture together, despite their doctrinal differences."
Mr Bond should help us understand how this works out in practice. Hence, it would be helpful if he would tell us how many meals he has shared with Muslims and how many Muslims he has read scripture with in the past three months. Further, it would be helpful if he could share the outcomes of these encounters and especially how open the Muslims were to his beliefs. We know how much they wanted to press their beliefs on him, don't we???
Sharing equals give it all away. The Christian heritage, Democracy, womens rights, the English Justice system. Everything, kiss it all goodbye.
And swap it for roadside bombs, amputations, beheadings, chaos, in short, a New Dark Age.
No thank you.
Yep, that's right! Give it all away in the name of PC and not offending anyone. Crazy, isn't it? Don't the Church leaders know anything about how Christians have suffered in countries where Islam has grown strong?
Yes, Fredistar, I didn't call my book, The Dawning of a New Dark Age for nothing, for it's a 'dark age' we shall go into if things go on as they are now.
