British Muslims can't find their feet

Many Muslims in England face bleak employment prospects and endure poor standards of housing, a government-backed study has found.

The report revealed Muslims are more likely than any other faith group to be jobless and living in poor conditions.

It said half of Muslims aged over 25 are unemployed and one in three live in the most deprived areas of England. Muslim hardship under spotlight

Yes, I can imagine that. Where's the brotherhood there then?

What amazes me is the BBC's focus on unemployment in the Muslim faith group. I don't recall the BBC ever being bothered about unemployment in other faith groups! What about unemployment among Christians, for example? Or any other faith groups? Or even among atheists?

The BBC will keep on pandering to the Muslim population!

It would appear to me that Muslims would find it a lot easier to find a job if they 1.) integrated more, and 2.) were prepared to be geographically mobile to move to the jobs.

But that would mean that their offspring would have to leave the nest to seek work. That, too, along with many other things, is forbidden in Islam, because it impacts upon the family.

I had an interesting experience on Friday evening when I took a lengthy telephone survey about transportation systems. At the end of the survey, the caller asked for the usual information about my ethnicity. The last "ethnic group" she listed was Muslim! Of course, no other faith group was mentioned in the list.

In no uncertain terms, I told her, "Muslim is not a race. Muslim denotes a religion." I then went on to explain in detail why that particular classification was an error. I also asked her to inform her supervisor of my objections to using Muslim as an ethnic classification, but I didn't get a call back from the supervisor.

Perhaps the most disturbing part of the exchange I had with the caller was that she seemed truly surprised that Muslim is NOT a race.

Good for you, Always, for standing up to be counted, so to speak! We need more people like you to do this.

Isn't it amazing how much attention these people are getting? It's Muslim this and Muslim that. And all here in the West!

I'm sick of it!

The 'authorities' are going the right way about turning everyone against Islam and Muslims! If Muslims must remain in the West, then they should be treated like everybody else. They shouldn't get the kid-glove treatment they are now getting. It's very wrong, and it's discriminatory, too!

Mark,
Slightly off topic, but you've got to see this!

Democracy Frontline is a site worth checking every day for the stories which the msm won't tell. On the left sidebar, look for categories, and click on "Felis" for the news stories. The other categories are excellent as well, but I first look at what Felis has found.

In following your link to 'Felis' I found the most succinct analysis for the folly of the intellectual mind, I think that I have ever come across, Thanks, for it is definately one to remember.

"My greatest shock in life was to see how many people in the West and especially “educated” people were trying to give up their freedom and surrender to imaginary idols of social justice.
The same people who looked upon religious folks with superiority would blindly and without hesitation follow ideologies created on paper by other people who never left their cozy lives and warm rooms." Absolutely brilliant

Always:

That guy is talking through his BP! A rôle model for Christians indeed! If Muhammad is a good rôle model for Christians, what is Jesus? Christians hardly need a better rôle model than Jesus Himself! And they certainly don't need a rôle model of a man who would kill and torture and marry six year old girls!

What will we hear next? This is absurd!
