An Open Letter to ‘Azzam the American’
In the Name of Jesus, the Truly Compassionate, the Truly Merciful!
Dear Adam

This weekend, I had the dubious pleasure of watching you rant and rave about the beauty of Islam on video, inviting the Americans to convert to Islam. You berated Western culture and civilization, and had the audacity to tell people that the only route to Paradise (Heaven) lay in conversion to “the one true faith” – Islam.

You went on and on about the beauty of Islam, and you went on and on about the wonderful characteristics of your prophet, the prophet Muhammad. It was sickening to hear you ranting on about that prophet and his ‘religion, the 'death cult' that is Islam.

I observed you very closely. You look like and Arab, talk like an Arab, dress like an Arab, and use an Arab’s gestures. Even your hand movements and your gesticulations were redolent of an Arab! Yet you had the audacity to tell us that Islam is NOT an Arabo-centric religion! If this is the case, then why do you have to dress like an Arab, and behave like one, too?

You went on to speak of the ignorance of the Kufaar (the infidels) of the faith that is Islam. Have you never asked yourself the opposite question? Why are Arabs so ill-informed about the religion of Christianity? They keep on calling Christians polytheists, simply because they believe in the Trinity. You guys just can’t get your heads around it, can you? The Trinity, I mean. Yes, the Trinity is but ONE God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But that’s beyond your limited comprehension, isn’t it?

It’s as if you guys were arrested in your development! Piaget, the specialist in child development, spoke of FOUR stages of development: the Sensori-motor stage; the Pre-operational stage; the Concrete operational stage; and the Formal operational stage.
The Formal operational stage - 11-15 years - distinguishes itself in the child's ability to relate to ideas.
I realize full well that it might be difficult for you to think in the abstract. It is difficult for many Muslim Arabs to do so. After all, Arabs are taught to think in terms of the literal and the concrete. But do try to make the quantum leap forward to being able to think in abstract terms, please. The safety of the world depends on it!

You see, Adam, it is really quite simple. The body has three parts: the mind, the body, the spirit. Similarly, the Godhead also has three parts: God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit. My body is ONE, despite its three parts; similarly, the Godhead is also ONE, despite its three parts.

I really wish you guys down there would begin to understand abstract ideas. You must find life rather hard without the ability to understand them. In a few words, it means that you are challenged! Mentally challenged!

Having THREE parts does not mean that God is three; rather, it means that God is One, but with three parts! Now surely that is not too difficult to understand, is it? Try getting your head around the concept. You might be surprised just how easy it is to understand, once you get the hang of abstract ideas!

You stated in the video that God (I think you meant Allah) describes the ignorance of unbelievers throughout the Qur’an, for they neither think nor understand. Well, it’s a funny thing, but we unbelievers think the same about you folks. To us, it is so obvious that you people don’t use the grey matter God has given you! I mean, how far have you ignorant people come in the past 1400 years?

If the Qur’an is made up of the inimitable words of Allah, then why on earth is the Qur’an replete with grammatical errors? Surely God knows His grammar, doesn’t He? And by the way, what is so inimitable about the Qur’an? Why, even I could write a sentence like the ones I have read in the Qur’an. But perhaps I wouldn’t be able to copy the grammatical mistakes. That, I grant you.

In that long, drawn out video, you accuse Christianity of being “anthropomorphic”. That means to say, ladies and gentlemen, that one attributes human qualities or form to God. Now that really is a big word to use for Adam. After all, he hasn’t reached the abstract phase of life yet. Good one, Adam!

Adam, please hear me out, will you? If Christians attribute human form or characteristics to God, then it is nothing more than symbolism. Man is limited in his comprehension. He has to have something to pin his ideas to. That’s all! I wouldn’t read too much into this if I were you.

It was interesting to note that you guys reject man-made governments and man-made laws. Now we have it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak. So this obviously means that Westerners can expect nothing from Muslims who live in the West. They, too, will disobey man-made laws, and man-made governments, because the laws are not based on the Shari’ah. How sick you guys are! We allow you to come and live in civilized countries, but at the first opportunity, you kick your hosts in the teeth. Do you really think that your co-religionists deserve to be allowed to stay here in the West? ‘Cause I don’t. If you can’t respect our laws, then you guys have no business being here. Period! You go find countries where you can obey the primitive laws of the Qur’an and your prophet!

One thing I must agree with you on, however: Your dislike of ‘interfaith dialogue’. There is no place for interfaith dialogue with you guys. It’s a waste of time. In fact, I even wrote an essay recently, entitled, You ‘interfaith’ if you want to. This gentleman is not for ‘interfaithing’! I think you might enjoy reading it, Adam. It will show you that not all Westerners think alike; and it will show you, too, that many of us also think that it is a waste of time to engage in dialogue with blockheads.

You went on to state that democracy does not equal freedom. Indeed, you showed nothing but contempt for the concept of democracy. So, my friend, stay there, exactly where you are and live in slavery, in slavery to your god, Allah. Worship the Ka’aba, that stone edifice which you believe is the ‘house of god’. May you find peace and fulfillment in your prayers. But please, please, don’t bring your barbaric practices here to the West. We don’t want them. Further, we don’t need them. It should be obvious to you – but it is probably not – that the West has got along very nicely without you guys for many, many centuries now. We haven’t needed you to show us the way at all. In fact, were you not to be so blind, then you would see that the West has surpassed the Islamic world: in ideas, in material goods, in medicine, in art, in music, in everything. You guys are so, so backward. If you really are Allah’s chosen people, then why has he kept you from achieving success in this life? Why? Answer me that simple question, please?

You see, Adam, the fact remains that you Muslims think about one thing, and one thing only: your religion. There are only twenty-four hours in a day. Every minute you spend thinking about Islam is one minute less you can spend thinking about achievement and worldly success.

You say that God recognizes no separation of religion and state. Speak for your god, will you? My God does. He makes a big separation between the two. That’s why my world – the West – is so civilized, and your world is not. Where there is no separation between religion and state, then everything becomes the business of the state, even being critical of religion. Hence you get people being beheaded for the minor crime of renouncing their faith.

You asked the West to convert to Islam. Well, I dare say that you will get a few crackpots (both Americans and other Westerners) here and there converting to your backward faith. But the vast majority will have more sense. Then you went on to say that if we don’t wish to convert, then we should keep our poison to ourselves. Now, Adam, you’re speaking some sense at last! I go along with that. But there is ONE proviso: You keep your poison to yourselves, too! We don’t want Islam here in the West, no more than you want Christianity there in the East.

You said that “Christianity is a hollow shell of a religion”. You went on to say that “Pauline Christianity” is the worst form of Christianity of all, because you said it was unbelievable. Well, as I said before, maybe there’s a stage of development missing there somewhere – the abstract stage.

I liked your modern turn of phrase “you’ll go to the hell-fire directly, without passing ‘go’”. Gosh, Adam, I am impressed! Are you showing us that your religion allows you even to play ‘Monopoly’? Can you really engage in diversions like that? Is this allowed?

I found it particularly interesting that you described the ‘American Dream’ as “debt, debauchery, and doubt”. Well, Adam, I've got news for you. This might have been your own, personal experience of the ‘American Dream’. But for many it is not. In a free country such as America, YOU can choose what the ‘American Dream’ means to YOU. If you want to get yourself into debt, then you can do so. If you want a debauched life, then you can have one. If you want to choose doubt over faith, then you can choose that, too. I guess what you're saying in so many words is this: You were not mature enough to handle the ‘American Dream’. I’ll grant you that not all people are mature enough to be able to do so.

Then you went on to say that “eternal happiness” is better than the fleeting delights of this world. Well, Adam, now you are guilty of judging the world by your own Islamic yardstick. There are plenty of people out there who believe that this life is the only life they have. After all, who has been to Paradise and returned?

You know, one of the problems with you folks is this: You haven’t learned to live and let live. You believe that your own truths and verities are applicable to all. But they are not.

If you go on in your way, my friend, the Islamic world will find itself embroiled in a world war in no time at all. The free world has been here before. It has already been in the position of having to rid the world of tyranny, and not so many years ago. Your ‘religion’ is tyrannical. If you don’t start playing its tyrannical side down, then we shall all have to suffer the consequences of a world war sooner than we might wish or imagine.

Respectfully

Waffle by any other name

When will people start to realize that Islam and democracy are totally incompatible? It's that simple! Clear thinking is what is needed, not all this academic hooey.
America's misreading of the Arab world—and our current misadventure in Iraq—may have really begun in 1950. That was the year a young University of London historian named Bernard Lewis visited Turkey for the first time. Lewis, who is today an imposing, white-haired sage known as the “doyen of Middle Eastern studies” in America (as a New York Times reviewer once called him), was then on a sabbatical. Granted access to the Imperial Ottoman archives—the first Westerner allowed in—Lewis recalled that he felt “rather like a child turned loose in a toy shop, or like an intruder in Ali Baba's cave.” But what Lewis saw happening outside his study window was just as exciting, he later wrote. There in Istanbul, in the heart of what once was a Muslim empire, a Western-style democracy was being born. Iran - the ticking, nuclear time bomb
THE TIMES: PERSIAN PROVERBS have a particularly poetic quality to them. Among my personal favourites are: “The wise man sits on the hole in his carpet”; “You can’t pick up two melons with one hand”; and “When fortune turns against you, even jelly breaks your teeth.” Profound.

Another local maxim appears to capture the outside world’s response to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. It is akin to an ancient remark: “A gentle hand may lead an elephant by a hair.” For that is clearly the approach that Kofi Annan, on behalf of the United Nations, and Javier Solana, for the European Union, are adopting. Mr Annan was in Tehran this weekend to meet with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the firebrand Iranian President, and ask him politely if he would mind suspending the enrichment of uranium as the UN Security Council has demanded. Señor Solana is due to see Ali Larijana, nominally Iran’s chief negotiator on these issues, this week to explore once again whether formal negotiations can start on a new package of “economic and other incentives” that might allow Iran to do what UN Resolution 1696 has sought under the threat of sanctions. Far-right extremists take to terror videos!
THE SUNDAY TIMES: FAR-RIGHT extremists have adopted the tactics of Islamic jihadists by posting videos on the internet in which they threaten to behead British Muslims.

The films show balaclava-clad white British men brandishing guns, knives and clubs, calling on all Muslims to leave the United Kingdom or be killed. One appears to be a soldier who has served in the Gulf.

In one film a man tells Muslims to “go home” or risk being burnt alive. He threatens: “I’ll cut your head off,” and claims to have “comrades” across Britain who have “had enough”. White extremists use terror videos to threaten Muslims

Israel prepares for possible war with Iran and Syria
THE SUNDAY TIMES: THREATENED by a potentially nuclear-armed Tehran, Israel is preparing for a possible war with both Iran and Syria, according to Israeli political and military sources.

The conflict with Hezbollah has led to a strategic rethink in Israel. A key conclusion is that too much attention has been paid to Palestinian militants in Gaza and the West Bank instead of the two biggest state sponsors of terrorism in the region, who pose a far greater danger to Israel’s existence, defence insiders say.

“The challenge from Iran and Syria is now top of the Israeli defence agenda, higher than the Palestinian one,” said an Israeli defence source. Shortly before the war in Lebanon Major-General Eliezer Shkedi, the commander of the air force, was placed in charge of the “Iranian front”, a new position in the Israeli Defence Forces. It's the Religion, Stupid!

Watch President Bush speaking to military veterans in Salt Lake City in Utah

”The war we fight today is more than a military conflict. It is the decisive ideological struggle of the 21st Century. Despite their [the various “terrorist” groups'] differences, these groups form the outline of a single movement, a worldwide network of radicals that use terror to kill those who stand in the way of their totalitarian ideology. And the unifying feature of this movement, the link that spans sectarian divisions and local grievances, is the rigid conviction that free societies are a threat to their twisted view of Islam.” - President Bush

President Bush’s foreign policy with regard to “Islamic terrorists” has no foundation. It is like the house built on sand! If President Bush really thinks that this war against “Islamic terrorists” is going to be won by ignoring the cause of the problem we face, then he is deluding himself.

No war was ever won without identifying the enemy. A doctor cannot effect a cure for a sick man if he doesn’t identify the disease. He cannot beat the disease simply by treating the symptoms. In order for the doctor to beat the disease, he must first identify the disease itself. Similarly, if we are to win this war, we have to identify the root cause of the problems we face. We must ask ourselves where is all this hatred stemming from? What is at the root of the problem?

One has to be either ignorant, stupid, foolish, or just plain obstinate not to see that the root cause of our problems with “terrorists” is Islam itself. These are “Islamic terrorists”, and they are fired by their religion, Islam, to take over the rest of the world, and Islamize it. These “Islamic terrorists” are actually jihadis, and they are out to turn the “House of War”, or Dar ul Harb, into the “House of Islam”, or Dar ul Islam.

These jihadis don't have any “twisted view of Islam” at all! In fact, they have a very good understanding of their religion, and they intend to live by its tenets. YOU, Mr President, have a “twisted” view of Islam, not the jihadis! They know what they are doing, but do you know what you are doing? That is the question YOU need to ask YOURSELF!

What is happening in the world today is nothing much different from what has been happening in the world for the past 1400 years. Muslims have been busy Islamizing the world for about that long. But, of course, there have been quiet spells, because they haven’t always had the money to finance the jihad as they have today. When people are forced, through poverty, to dwell in tents as Bedouins, they have their next meal to think about; so they fight, if at all, amongst themselves. These days, however, they are awash with petrodollars; so they have plenty of money, billions in fact, to finance their jihadi activities. And, Mr President, you need look no further than your big chums in Saudi Arabia for evidence of the petrodollars being used around the world to finance and propagate their particularly pernicious brand of Islam – Wahhabism. Yet you continue to insist on cozying up to the Saudis, insisting that they are your friends and allies.

Then, on the other side of the Persian Gulf, we have the Iranians. They, too, are awash with cash to finance their Shiite version of Islam throughout the world. We have them financing such jihadi organizations as Hizbullah. And the Syrians help the Iranians along.

So we have a fight on a grand scale for supremacy in the world – Sunni and Shiite Islam. We in the West are allowing both forms of Islam to be propagated here at home, in the form of mosques (where hatred of the infidel and anti-Semitism are propagated), in the form of propagation centres proper, in the form of madrassahs, in the form of university chairs in what were once respectable Western universities, thus shutting up professors and getting them on side. The list goes on. Yet YOU, Mr President, insist that the version of Islam the jihadis are working hard to propagate throughout the world is a “twisted” one.

When you speak like this, you make yourself sound foolish, very foolish indeed. It also makes one think that people at the very top in government are being paid off by their Saudi masters for speaking highly of a faith that is out to destroy the West, destroy democracy, and destroy freedom.

When did you last read a history book, Mr President? Have you ever read anything about the crusades? Have you ever read anything about al-Andalus, and how it took the Spanish centuries to rid Spain of Islamic influence? Do you have any idea of what is really going on? Or are you just being shut up by your Saudi masters because you and your henchmen such as Cheney are in their pay?

Something sinister is going on here in the West! Something rotten!

You have talked so much about bringing democracy to the Middle East. Forget it! Middle Easterners, by and large, don’t want Western democracy. This is obvious to all but the blind. What they want is to follow the Islamic path, they want Islamic theocracy. So what you need to do is not spend your energy and the resources of the West on a vain attempt to bring democracy to them; rather you should be diverting your energy and the West’s resources to ensuring that Muslims don’t manage to bring their anti-democratic, pro-Islamic theocratic ideas here to the West! That is our real danger, Mr President. Keep Islam out of the West as far as is humanly possible! Stunt its growth here! Reverse any trends you can!

Islam has entered the West and has put down roots here. Sadly! They did the same in Egypt and Syria and Libya centuries ago. And look what happened to those countries! They are now Islamic. The same will happen to the West, because leaders like you steadfastly refuse either to see or to understand what is happening under our very noses.

Your speech to the military veterans in Salt Lake City was a tame one. It lacks conviction; so it is certainly not convincing. Further, until and unless you change your tired, worn-out tune, until you stop making lame excuses for the very belligerent religion of Islam, you will never win this war, and you will never carry the people, either in the US, Europe, Australasia, or any other part of the free world, with you. You are wasting your time. You have hyped up Iraq, probably to save your own face; but Iraq was never the real problem, Islam was, is, and ever will be.

No, Mr President, the jihadis do not have a “twisted” version of their faith, YOU do! When will you ever learn? Simply put, Mr President, and as the Democratic Party's one-time strategist, James Carville, might have said: It’s the religion, Stupid!

NRO: Hezbollah’s black-clad legions goose-step and stiff-arm salute in parade, apparently eager to convey both the zeal and militarism of their religious fascism. Meanwhile, consider Hezbollah’s “spiritual” head, Hassan Nasrallah — the current celebrity of an unhinged Western media that tried to reinvent the man’s own self-confessed defeat as a victory. Long before he hid in the Iranian embassy Nasrallah was on record boasting: “The Jews love life, so that is what we shall take away from them. We are going to win because they love life and we love death.”

Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad trumps that Hitlerian nihilism by reassuring the poor, maltreated Germans that there was no real Holocaust. Perhaps he is concerned that greater credit might still go to Hitler for Round One than to the mullahs for their hoped-for Round Two, in which the promise is to “wipe” Israel off the map.

The only surprise about the edition of Hitler’s Mein Kampf that has become a best seller in Middle Eastern bookstores is its emboldened title translated as “Jihadi” — as in “My Jihad” — confirming in ironic fashion the “moderate” Islamic claim that Jihad just means “struggle,” as in an “inner struggle” — as in a Kampf perhaps. 'Pleasure marriages' in Islam on the increase
For over a decade, the phenomenon of marriage without commitment, called misyar marriage, has been spreading throughout the Sunni Muslim world, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf countries. In such marriages, the woman relinquishes some of the rights that Islam grants her, such as the right to a home and to financial support from her husband, and, if he has other wives, the right to an equal part of his time and attention. In most cases, these marriages are secret, without the knowledge of the man's other wives - even though a marriage contract is drawn up in the presence of witnesses, and although consent is commonly obtained from the woman's guardian, and the marriage is registered and documented at the courthouse. Demand is high for misyar marriages on online matchmaking sites, as well as through services using text messages and email. Pleasure Marriages in Sunni and Shi'ite Islam by Aluma Dankowitz

How Saudis Treat Infidels
We abuse the non-Muslims living and working in Saudi Arabia all the time, especially the Christians and the Jews.

We call them grandsons of pigs and monkeys. We say this openly, everywhere, particularly in mosques.

We do not respect any religions except Islam. This is the Saudi official policy: all religions other than Islam are false. Only Islam is the true religion. To accomplish this extremely bigoted notion, the Saudi state policy is to convert to Islam as many infidels as possible. So, proselytising for Islam is a major activity of the government and the religious department. Those who convert to Islam are rewarded handsomely. This is a kind of bribe, you might say—to force infidels into Islam. Those preachers and Islamic workers who succeed in converting the loathsome infidels to Islam might also expect to be richly rewarded. Denis MacShane talks twaddle!
Fourteen ninety-two was the best of years, the worst of years for Europe. Colombus set sail for the Americas to link the two land masses on either side of the Atlantic. The Americas remain essentially a European construct with the United States, in particular, returning to save the old continent from its follies twice last century and again being called in to restore order in the Balkans after the failure of Europe's will in the early 1990s.

But 1492 was also Europe's darkest hour, when the Spanish royal house expelled the Jews and Muslims from mainstream Europe. They did so in the name of faith, but the victory of their religious fundamentalism was short-lived. Twenty-five years later, Martin Luther nailed his theses to a cathedral door and launched Europe into more than a century of religious wars. Europe must embrace Islam too

A Clear Case of Plagiarism

Whilst over at Townhall this morning, reading an interesting article by Doug Giles, I noticed that someone by the name of Wolf had plagiarized MY WORDS:

"The jihad which is out to annihilate us, and annihilate freedom and democracy, and annihilate all that the West stands for. This is indeed a battle between two civilizations. In such a battle, there is no room for dialogue, there is room only for victory. For, as Churchill so wisely stated during the Second World War, “Without victory, there is no survival”. That, ladies and gentlemen, is why I say: You ‘interfaith' if you want to. This gentleman is not for ‘interfaithing’!"

These sentences are very distinctive. Wolf had so obviously 'lifted' them out of my essay, 'You 'interfaith' if you want to. This gentleman is not for 'interfaithing'!'

You can verify this by reading his words THERE and reading my words HERE.

I do not object to anyone quoting me, but it is normal and correct custom to state from where and from whom the words come. In this instance, this was not done.

May I remind my visitors that people who do this are actually in breach of copyright law. Please remember when quoting me, or anyone else, that one should give due credit for the originality of the writer. This is the only courteous and correct thing to do. It is the norm and the custom. It is also the law!

Britain reverting to tribalism!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
'The New Face of Britain' - Photo courtesy of BBC
"The government is aware that society is fragmenting into tribes - but if they are talking about creating common values for different faith groups, what are they?" - Munira Mirza, multiculturalism researcher [Source: The BBC]
British society is facing challenges that threaten its record on uniting ethnic groups, says Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly

Tensions between people of different ethnic groups and faiths in British society must be tackled, says Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly.

Ms Kelly launched a Commission on Integration and Cohesion, calling for a "new and honest" debate on diversity. UK 'must tackle ethnic tensions'
The full text of Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly's speech launching the new commission to look at how to counter tensions between people of different ethnic groups and religions. In full: Ruth Kelly speech
Ruth Kelly, in her speech, stated that she believes that Britian’s diversity is a huge asset to our country – economically, culturally, and socally.

She stated that immigration had helped transform the economy: it had supported growth and had boosted productivity. She went on to say that immigration had helped enrich our cultural life; and migrant workers had been vital to supporting our public services.

She added that in the government’s attempt to avoid imposing a single British identity and culture, she asked the question if we have ended up with some communities living in isolation of each other, with no common bonds between them.

She is setting up a commission to look into the problems.

She went on to say that the UK needed a “controlled, well managed [sic] system of immigration that has clear rules and integrity to counter exploitation from the far right”.

She rejected totally that faith schools – which are burgeoning here – are bad for the UK. She said that it was important to offer “choice”.

I should like to say the following…

I should like someone to show me how all this immigration and diversity has been a “huge asset” to the UK. It seems to me that the UK was doing pretty well before the advent of mass immigration. The UK used to be homogenous and well-integrated. There was already a great diversity in the UK. Look at the English, the Scots, the Irish, the Welsh, the Cornish, etc. We survived well without Islamic culture infiltrating our society.

But what is equally galling is that this mass immigration has been allowed to go on without consulting the people. This is an insult to democracy – the system of government whose virtues these very same people espouse.

If immigration has helped to transform the economy, it certainly hasn’t helped the cause of lowering taxation. Because of immigration, ever-increasing amounts of money have to be thrown at the security services in order to keep the British safe from “Islamic terrorism” and the jihad.

Not everything in an economy can be, or even should be, measured in terms of economic growth. Perhaps it is time people realized that ever-increasing economic growth can impose too high a price on the community as a whole. Businessmen should not be allowed to run the system!

That migrant workers may be vital to support our public services is an indictment on the economic policies of successive governments. Our leaders – past and present – should have seen these problems coming, and should have done all in their power to encourage an increase in the birthrate. But what has it done? Sweet Fanny Adams!

She admitted that the government had attempted to avoid “imposing a single British identity and culture” on the people. Well, now the truth is coming out! This is the very thing they should have been doing: They should have been encouraging homogeneity. How on earth can a country function as a homogenous whole when such diversity is encouraged. This flies in the face of the American “melting pot” theory – a theory that worked so well for the States for so long.

She has also rejected the idea that faith schools, the type of schools which are being encouraged in this country, are so detrimental to integration. If children are taught separately, especially when they are taught values diametrically-opposed to the values of the country as a whole, then we are most certainly encouraging tribalism, and we are shoring up colossal problems for ourselves for the future.

Little wonder that Munira Mirza, a multiculturalism researcher, has stated that British society is fragmenting into tribes! And the process of fragmentation into tribes will continue unabated until something is done about absurd government policies. Verily, I say unto you: Tony Blair and his government have been nothing short of a disaster, a catastrophe, for this country. It is high time for him to resign and hang his head in shame!

El Al: The safest airline in the world
The safest airline in the world, it is widely agreed, is El Al, Israel's national carrier. The safest airport is Ben Gurion International, in Tel Aviv. No El Al plane has been attacked by terrorists in more than three decades, and no flight leaving Ben Gurion has ever been hijacked. So when US aviation intensified its focus on security after 9/11, it seemed a good bet that the experience of travelers in American airports would increasingly come to resemble that of travelers flying out of Tel Aviv. Is Western civilization crumbling before our very eyes?

When I look around me, it is so obvious that Western civilization is rotting from within. Standards in public life and standards in private are in decline. As far as I can discern, there is little doubt that this is so. How people behave, how people speak, how people dress, family life, the declining influence of religion, standards in education, in fact, standards in most walks of life seem to have taken a beating.

I am old enough to be able to remember different times. It is not so long ago that there were standards worthy of being emulated by the masses. For example, in the United Kingdom, BBC English was the gold standard in language: people who wanted to be socially mobile aspired to being able to speak like radio and television announcers. Then there were the grammar schools which all children who wished to be educated well would aspire to enter.

Children, except in exceptional circumstances, were raised in a conventional family: there was a mother and father to correct and discipline the children. Mothers did their duty, and endeavoured to raise their children correctly, very often to very high standards of behaviour, achievement, and dress. Moreover, mothers would take pride in keeping a good table for their husbands, children, extended family, and visitors.

A formal and an informal education were given to children. That means to say that they received an education in the school and in the home. Further, children from good homes would be encouraged to go to church on Sundays, and if not to church proper, then certainly to Sunday school, where they learnt the fundamentals of their faith, and where the proper way to behave, already taught in the home, would be reinforced.

In short, children were given direction, and solid moral values.

In school, they were put through the rigours of a proper education: they were pushed to achieve. Pushed by their teachers and pushed by their parents. Their achievements were measured by rigorous tests and examinations, which not all children passed. A child passed an exam only when he was good enough to do so. Children who didn't measure up, failed; and there was no easy way out, either. There was none of the current ‘feel good factor’, the ‘touchy-feely’, everybody-has-got-to-pass nonsense. If a child had not come up to standard, he failed, and that was the end of it. Of course, he would be given the chance to re-sit the examination – often the following year.

The family, even the extended family, would see to it that children dressed appropriately for the occasion. This went for the less well off, too. No excuses were made for the poor in this regard. They just had to try and keep up, somehow.

In public life, standards were generally much higher, too. Prime ministers led by example. They took the decisions they felt were right for the nation. They were not governed by opinion polls, and they generally didn’t pander to this lobby group or that. In addition, they didn’t shy away from the tough decisions they felt were necessary to maintain public order. They legislated on behalf of the people in order to maintain high standards of civilized life. The crime rate was low, and when people misbehaved, they would be sanctioned by the system, and they were punished accordingly.

Money, profit, and economic growth, though very important, were not the be all and end all of life. There were other considerations. People were less materialistic than they are today: they were prepared to make do with less. As a result, mothers, for the most part, stayed at home to raise their children, realizing that nobody else could raise them as well, and realizing too that it was their duty to raise them. Furthermore, because women stayed at home, there was an adequate supply of newborn babies to ensure the survival of the nation. British governments, at least, didn’t look to immigrants to fill the gap (the post-War period was an exception). If more children were needed, then the father would benefit from increased tax benefits to encourage more procreation.

In general, the system worked well; though, as standards tended to be rigid, they could be a little stifling at times. But there was order in society; and people knew where they fitted in. Generally, people were not lonely, because there was always the family to fall back on.

With the Sixties, things started to change dramatically. With the Sixties came the ‘anything goes’ ‘culture’ (if one dare call it that), and Western civilization started to decline. Then came ‘the Pill’, which made for a sexual revolution. Women could go to bed with men before wedlock with impunity. They could make sure they wouldn’t become pregnant. With this change, the morality of the nation went into freefall.

If we compare then with now, if we look at the situation critically, if we are indeed old enough to remember, then it is an indisputable fact that things have not improved in terms of education, values, morality, or in terms of politics. Things are indeed going downhill. The tragedy is that our leaders today do not have the courage to tell people the way things ‘should be’. Of course, we are living in a period of moral relativism; so many would argue that who is to say what ‘should be’ anyway?

Even the Church of England is wary of saying what ‘should be' today. The Church elders have long since given up on moralizing to the people. The ‘Good News’ is not theirs to teach, it seems. They would prefer to engage in politics. They would prefer to demonstrate to show their disapproval of this government policy or that one. The fact that the churches are emptying at an alarming rate seems to evade them completely.

Church elders also seem to be oblivious to the fact that Islam is ready and willing and waiting to fill the vacuum that the failing Christian churches of Europe are creating by their lack of certitude in the superior teachings of Christ.

The fact of the matter is that we are living through very dangerous times. The times are not dangerous only because people are being threatened by terrorist bombs by the jihadis, but they are dangerous times for us also because we have allowed our standards to drop, because we have become unsure of ourselves and what we stand for, and because we have allowed foreigners with vastly different ideas and values to enter our countries in their millions. Interestingly, and disturbingly for us, these immigrants are very sure of what they believe in, they are very sure of their destiny, and very sure of their moral rectitude.

In the States, there is the almost unsolvable problem of illegal Mexicans there. Some estimate their numbers at up to twenty million! Some estimate their numbers far lower. But the fact is that nobody knows how many there are in the country. Further, Islam is growing apace in the States. The future of the ‘Land of the Free’ lies very much in the balance. Yet there appears to be no will to do anything about the problem.

Here in the United Kingdom, we have a similar problem with illegal immigrants, too. In the case of the UK, most of them are Muslims. This problem, because it is not being addressed, will clearly change the nature of the United Kingdom in the years to come, and it will certainly change its politics, too. Already we have heard calls from the small but vociferous Muslim community for the UK government to become more anti-American and more anti-Israel, and more pro-Islam and pro-Arab. And this with present numbers!

In view of the Muslims’ propensity to procreate quickly and in great numbers, it doesn’t take a PhD in mathematics to do the calculations: The indigenous population, moderate as it has always been, will in years to come be outnumbered by the extremist voice of the ‘new breed of Englishman’ – Muslim and of Asian descent as he will most surely be.

It would appear that it is now only a question of time before the West, as we know the West to be, will be a civilization of the past. If Islam comes to influence the politics of our nations, which if present trends continue it most surely will, then rest assured that lax moral values will be cleaned up forthwith. Our way of dressing will change, as will our way of speaking (will Arabic become our lingua franca?), our way of behaving, our politics, our thinking, even our economics. Oh, and don’t forget the meting out of barbaric punishments for relatively minor offences. Punishments will no longer fit the crime. Freedom and democracy will become concepts of the past. We shall have entered into the Islamic era – an era which will be characterized by ‘dark age’ thinking; indeed, we shall have entered the ‘new dark age’ that I wrote of in my book.

These changes, of course, are not inevitable; but if we wish to save the West, then we have much thinking to do, much bellyaching, and many policies will have to be reversed.

I suggest that we start today. There is no time to waste.

Viewpoint from India

The battle has become global capitalism versus global Islam. One is affluent, powerful, politically empowered and mainly Christian but running out of resources; the other is poor, politically un-empowered and Muslim, but resource-rich. Both find nationalistic politics an impediment to their progress, because nationalism impedes economic domination and theological control. - Vikram Sood

Islam doesn't fool Swank
As the good Pastor Grant Swank states with such eloquence and theological authority, the “Religion” of Islam is all about murder, mayhem and malfeasance. There is no spirituality, compassion, or human kindness in this so-called faith.

Most other religions go door to door in search of souls. Members and church officials visit prisons, hospitals, and hospices to bring words of hope and inspiration to those no longer embraced elsewhere by the human family.

Islam, and Islam alone, uses decapitation as a proselytizing tool. Fear, not faith, is used as a means of persuasion and conformity.

Whereas the Good Shepherd tends to the needy flock in Christianity, in Islam the sheep are slaughtered. Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity all teach love and acceptance. Islam alone teaches violent assault on those with the temerity to be “infidels.” Islam Fools Many - But not Pastor Grant Swank!

Franco Frattini: the EU’s appeaser par excellence

Do we, the Europeans, really have to put up with the nonsense and appeasement coming out of Europe? The stupidity of the pronouncements coming out of Europe knows no bounds. Franco Frattini, the European Union commissioner for justice, freedom and security, has recently stated, in an interview with The Telegraph, that no religion in Europe should be afforded special status; moreover, he wants to introduce a voluntary code of conduct – a European press charter - for the media in Europe to commit to “prudence” when reporting on Islam and other religions.

Franco Frattini says that Europe faces a “very real problem” inasmuch as Europe needs to reconcile two fundamental freedoms: freedom of expression and freedom of religion. He went on to say that the acceptance of such self-regulation would send an important political message to the Muslim world: the press would give the Muslim world the message that we are aware of the consequences of exercising the right of free expression, and we are able to and are willing to self-regulate.

He added that in Europe, no religion would be offered “privileged” status. It should be noted that the EU has harboured for a long time the ambition to combat racism and xenophobia.

Who is this man? And who has given him the mandate to speak on behalf of Europeans? Who has given him the mandate to sell our souls to the Arab and Islamic world? On what authority does he speak? Does he understand what is going on in the world around him? Does he understand the nature of jihad? Does he understand the nature of Islam? Does he understand the nature of Muslims? Does he understand what Muslims’ objectives are?

As far as I can see, this man is endangering the very fabric of European culture and civilization.

First of all, to say that no religion should be given “privileged” status is ludicrous at best, dangerous at worst. To what does he think European culture and civilization owes its strength? Doesn’t he realize that but for Christianity, we wouldn’t be able to live in such civilized circumstances today?

Secondly, he ignores what previous generations have fought so long and hard for: for the liberty and democracy we as Europeans now enjoy.

Signore Frattini, your ignorance and weakness and appeasement know no bounds!

He says that it is necessary for Europeans to reconcile the two freedoms of expression and religion. No it isn’t! We have never had such a problem before. We have this problem now because we have allowed all those millions of Muslims into Europe who never had any intention to assimilate in the first place. Interestingly, many fled to Europe because they were persecuted in their own countries. Their own countries offered no such European freedoms. Now they have come to our countries, and, ironically, they want to take our freedoms away from us! They wish to impose on the long-suffering Europeans the very restrictions they fled from!

There is no such dilemma of reconciliation for us to face at all. This is a dilemma of Frattini’s own making. The fact of the matter is that Muslims came to Europe of their own free will. If they now decide that they don’t like the freedoms that Europe has to offer, then they are also free to leave – forthwith! It is not for the Europeans to relinquish their freedoms in order to appease Muslims and their sensibilities. After all, what do Muslims do to appease Westerners in their own countries? We all know the answer to that question!

Grow a backbone, Signore Frattini! The fact of the matter is that you are terrified of the consequences of allowing all these immigrants into Europe, be they legal or illegal. Fact is, the people were never asked whether we wanted them here in the first instance. Now you are trying to impose this restriction on us too.

This form of self-regulation is a form of censorship. It takes away our liberty to express ourselves as we wish to do. Freedom of expression is indivisible: either we have that right to express ourselves freely, or we don’t. There is no half way house.

It is a fact of life, perhaps a harsh fact of life, that we cannot go through this life without offending others sometimes, even if only unwittingly. As people we have to grow up and accept this. We have all been hurt many times in our lives, and this will always be so, because we all see things differently. Muslims would have us all see things their way: the Islamic way. But, Signore Frattini, the Islamic way is not our way. The Islamic way is coercive and intolerant and prescriptive. Our way is tolerant; it allows for man to express himself as he so wishes, be this in the way we dress, in the way we speak, in the way we think. It is what makes Europeans, and other Westerners, vibrant, alive, thinking, and creative. In contradistinction, the Islamic way is lifeless and without spirit, dead and unthinking, and most certainly uncreative. Is this what you wish for Europe, too, Signore Frattini? Do you wish to hasten the Islamization of Europe? Are you trying to bring forward the day when Europe will truly morph into Eurabia?

Moreover, Signore Frattini has shown his basic ignorance of Islam inasmuch as he has called for there to be a “European Islam”. He obviously doesn’t realize that there is only ONE Islam. Islam manifests itself slightly differently in different countries, it’s true; but the basic tenets of the faith are the same for ALL Muslims, regardless of where they live.

Indubitably, Frattini is hoping to sanitize the unsavoury aspects of Islam, the militaristic side of the faith. But it cannot be sanitized in this way. Islam is militaristic and political. It is unsavoury to rational men and women throughout the world. That the Qur’an calls for the death of infidels cannot be denied; and no form of Islam, European or otherwise, will ever change this fact.

Interestingly, it has been reported by the Iranian Republic News Agency only today that there is alarm at EU call for 'European Islam' among Iranians and other Muslims, because they fear that Europe is trying to impose its own version of Islam on Muslims in Europe.

Signore Frattini, it seems that you cannot win! You upset Europeans for trying to impose censorship on Europeans, and you upset Muslims with your plans to impose a “European Islam”. I have a suggestion to make to you: Defend European freedoms. Islam doesn’t need to be protected. Islam is a strong faith, or more correctly, a strong political movement, intent on taking over Europe and the West. It doesn’t need your help to do this; rather, it would make far more sense for you to have the courage to take measures to thwart Islam’s advance.

What you need to do, Signore Frattini, is defend the freedoms Europe enjoys today, because countless millions died to gain those very freedoms on our behalf. If you wish to choose dhimmitude for yourself, then do so: Go and live in an Islamic country. But don’t try and impose it on us, the people. We want no dhimmitude: not now, not ever!

Get tough on immigration, say the people!
THE public wants far tougher immigration policies, an Ipsos Mori poll for The Sunday Times has found, writes Isabel Oakeshott.

The research reveals that opinion on immigration is hardening dramatically, with three-quarters of the population calling for far stricter limits on immigrant numbers.

Almost half the population has serious doubts that allowing foreigners to settle in Britain is good for the country. Public wants much harsher immigration policy, says poll

Hitler and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem

The following video has been kindly brought to my attention by Norman Caswallon. (Thank you, Norman!) It shows the close relationship Hitler had with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini. The Mufti's visit to Berlin, where he met with Hitler, took place in 1941. What did they have in common? Anti-Semitism, of course!
