Manouchehr Mottaki, Iran’s Foreign Minister: Removing a Country From the Map is Not Possible

HAARETZ: Iran's foreign minister said on Saturday that no country could be removed from the map, contradicting a previous statement made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map."

"Every primary school student knows that it is not possible to remove a country from the map and that is very clear," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told a conference in Jordan when asked about Ahmadinejad's controversial remarks. Siniora Denies Arab States Want to Wipe Israel Off the Map

If Arabs don’t want to wipe Israel off the map, then why do so many Arab-Muslim countries, for example Saudi Arabia, refuse to recognize Israel on the maps and globes they use? Israel is so frequently torn out (leaving a hole in the map), or is quite simply blacked out with a marking pen. ©Mark Alexander
