Poor White Pupils Put Off School by Multicultural Timetable

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: A study finds that working-class white children are being turned off school because lessons are too focused on celebrating other cultures while shunning British traditions

White working class children are being “marginalised” at school after being forced to follow a multicultural timetable that shuns British traditions, according to research.

Large numbers of schools follow a curriculum that celebrates a “diverse range of pupils” while sidelining those from poor British families, it was claimed.

Head teachers told how they ran numerous projects such as Black History Month and “cultural days” to raise awareness of countries such as Portugal, Poland and Jamaica.

But it was claimed that white British pupils from deprived homes often “cannot see themselves or their lives reflected in the curriculum”, turning them off school altogether. » | Graeme Paton, Education Editor | Friday, June 27, 2014

My comment:

Multiculturalism should be consigned to the dustbin of history. It is garbage – a failed experiment. Brits should once gain be allowed to celebrate Britishness. It was when Britishness was celebrated that Britain became great. We would never have had an empire with current thinking about political correctness and multiculturalism. Never!

Now I am not suggesting that we should desire an empire again; but what I am saying is this: We are destroying our culture in our determination to make everyone feel welcome, whilst at the same time alienating the indigenous population, from whatever class they come.

Only today, I read that Salafism is now growing in Wales. In Wales! Whoever would have thought, fifty years ago, that Salafism could grow in Wales? All I can say is this: Multiculturalism and diversity should not be celebrated; rather they should be pooh-poohed for the trashy and dangerous concepts they are. – © Mark

'Trojan Horse' Teacher Breaks into Girl's Phone

THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: Parent complains to police over school's action to uncover 'forbidden' relationship with a fellow 16-year-old pupil

A teacher at one of the Birmingham state schools allegedly taken over by Muslim radicals in the so-called “Trojan Horse” plot has been reported to police after he broke into a female pupil’s mobile telephone to prove she was having a “forbidden” relationship with a boy.

The girl, who at 16 is over the age of consent, had her telephone confiscated by the teacher during a Sunday event at Park View School last month. Two members of staff told The Telegraph the device was then taken, without her permission, to a shop for its passcode to be broken, and its contents unlocked and examined by the school.

Images of the girl with the boy, a fellow Year 11 pupil at Park View, and text messages between them, obtained from the phone, were used by the school as evidence to suspend her, weeks before her GCSE exams. The boy was also suspended, but more briefly. » | Andrew Gilligan | Sunday, May 18, 2014

Head Teachers Raise 'Serious Concerns' Over Islamic School Take-over

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Head teachers' leaders voice concerns for the first time over an alleged Islamic plot to infiltrate schools in Birmingham as Ofsted confirm that its own investigation has spread to three more state primaries

Head teachers today raised "serious concerns" for the first time over an alleged plot to spread Islamic principles in the state education system as it emerged that an official investigation has spread to more schools.

The National Association of Head Teachers said it had found "concerted efforts" to infiltrate a series of its members' schools in Birmingham.

In a statement, the union said attempts had been made to "alter their character in line with the Islamic faith", including sidelining parts of the curriculum and attempting to influence the appointment of Muslim staff.

Russell Hobby, the general secretary, also warned that the action was unlikely to be "limited to Birmingham" and may have spread to other areas, adding: "I think it is connected into the large cities around the country."

The disclosure was made as Ofsted confirmed that its own investigation into the plot - dubbed Trojan Horse - had spread from 18 to 21 schools in Birmingham. The three additional schools are primaries. » | Graeme Paton, Education Editor | Friday, May 02, 2014

Michael Gove: Governments Must Stop Lying to Children about Life Chances

Michael Gove, Education Secretary
THE GUARDIAN: Education secretary says 'inflated' GCSE figures were used in past to tell pupils they could go to university or get skilled work

The education secretary, Michael Gove, has urged politicians to stop "lying to children" about their life chances and allowing inflated exam grades that he compared to Soviet tractor production propaganda.

"For years, ministers in previous governments looked at the way more and more people were getting GCSEs and they congratulated themselves, like Soviet economics ministers on the growth in statistics," Gove a US summit on education reform on Thursday night.

Slipping into a mock Russian accent and syntax, Gove said: "Look in Russia, thousands more get GCSEs. Surely now we are education powerhouse?"

Instead, he told the audience in Boston, "the truth is that we were lying to children" by telling them they would be able to go to university or find skilled work.
