Trump Doubles Down on Gaza & Canada Takeover Plans | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Feb 10, 2025 | Trump Doubles Down on Gaza & Canada Takeover Plans | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18G
US President Donald Trump hasn't been shy about his expansionist ambitions. Trump wants to buy Greenland from Denmark and retake the Panama canal. His latest idea is the at the US will buy and own Gaza, and redevelop the war-torn enclave. He is doubling down on the idea, despite almost universal criticism. Meanwhile, Canada is genuinely afraid that Trump is serious about turning the country into the 51st US state.

The Debate: Is He Serious? Allies Wary as Trump Threatens Greenland, Panama, Canada • FRANCE 24 English
Jan 8, 2025 | Imagine if Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping threatened a hostile takeover of Greenland or the Panama Canal.
So what about the president-elect of the United States... Is Donald Trump serious? Trump whose growing fixation comes two weeks ahead of Inauguration Day. He even sent his son to Greenland, much to the dismay of Denmark. That EU member's ruled Greenland for two centuries. Today it needs U-S-led Nato support to stare down the more pressing threat of the Russians in the Baltic Sea.

Trump Renews Threats that US Should Expand into Canada, Greenland, Panama Canal
That Americans voted this clown back into office for another term shows clearly that they are not intelligent enough, worldly enough, or well-read enough to be worthy of a democracy. Democracy can only work properly with a well-educated electorate. The American electorate is so obviously not well-educated enough. — © Mark Alexander

Mexico Expresses Support for Panama Following Threats from Trump | DW News
Dec 24, 2024 | Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum has expressed her government's support for Panama after threats from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
On Sunday, he said that Washington should try and regain control over the Panama Canal. Trump accused Panama of overcharging US-owned ships for passing through. Panama's president has hit back, insisting control of the canal is non-negotiable.
The Mexican president -- who's got her own issues with the incoming US administration over Trump's tariffs threat -- said the US had no claim to waterway.
