London Council 'Targeted in Trojan Horse-style Islamist Takeover Plot'

Jim Fitzpatrick warned of extremists infiltrating councils in London
LONDON EVENING STANDARD: A London MP today warned of the risk of a 'Trojan Horse'-style Islamist plot to infiltrate councils in the capital amid claims of schools being targeted in Birmingham.

As Ofsted criticised five schools at the heart of the row, Labour's Jim Fitzpatrick said there is a risk of "race politics" taking hold after the re-election of controversial mayor Lutfur Rahman in Tower Hamlets.

He said Labour had rejected "several hundred" applications from people the party believed could be "extremists" trying to infiltrate the borough's politics, as well as expelling party members during the past five years. » | Robin De Peyer | Monday, June 09, 2014

Trojan Horse Ofsted Report: Live

Ofsted report into alleged Trojan Horse plot at Birmingham schools finds "culture of fear and intimidation has developed" in schools after David Cameron wades in over Michael Gove and Theresa May row

My comment:

My God, these parliamentarians tie themselves up in knots trying not to criticise Islam. They keep splitting hairs about the distinction between Islam and Islamism. They argue about these things as though they were arguing about how many fairies can dance on the head of a pin.

Why the hell don't these cowards find their gonads and do something drastic about this problem? For indeed only drastic action will solve this problem. If this sort of thing is not STAMPED OUT NOW, ONCE AND FOR ALL, this country will be unrecognisable in just a few short years.

The so-called political élite in this country have behaved in a treasonous manner vis-à-vis the indigenous population: They have given our country away to foreigners who have no intention of integrating into our way of life, and without the consent of the people.

No amount of money will solve this problem. This is not a matter of courses and guidance. The fact of the matter is that Muslims do not wish under any circumstances to integrate into our way of life. They see our way of life as being inferior to the Islamic way. They don't call us infidels for nothing!

The distinction that these idiotic and cowardly politicians try to make between Islam and Islamism is a phoney distinction. An Islamist is a devout Muslim – a person who follows his 'religion' to the letter. Nothing and no-one will change this fact.

Muslims will never properly integrate into our society. Being guided by their prophet, the Koran, and the Sunnah, it's not even an option for them. So wake up, parliament! – © Mark

We Can't Avoid the Threat of Islamism

THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: The truth about how the Home Office views Islamic extremism - by Theresa May’s former speech-writer

David Cameron was extremely angry that the Coalition’s final legislative programme before next year’s general election was pushed from the top of the news agenda last week by “May vs Gove”.

Despite the very public split between Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, and Theresa May, the Home Secretary, at the level of policy, their differences on how best to deal with Islamic extremism are more about emphasis and nuance than radically different approaches.

Beyond last week’s stories about leaked letters and statements from the ministers’ supporters is a profoundly serious argument about what must be done in order to ensure that Muslim communities in Britain adopt British values, and are integrated into British society.

It is not just an argument about how to prevent terrorism inspired by religious fanaticism. It is also about the future of our culture, and how to ensure that it does not fragment into a series of segregated and separate groups united only by their mutual suspicion and distrust.

That is the nightmare scenario that just about everyone wants to avoid. It is one conjured up as a serious possibility not just by political parties such as Ukip and pressure groups such as Migration Watch, but also by academic researchers who study the impact of immigration. » | Alasdair Palmer | Sunday, June 08, 2014

Islamist Leader of Mega Mosque Bid and Ally of George Galloway Picked as Tory Candidate!

Vetted? London Tories concerned at how George Galloway's ally
Mufti Shah Sadruddin picked by party.
DAILY EXPRESS: AN ISLAMIST leader of the campaign to build a “mega mosque” near Britain’s Olympic Stadium is standing as a Tory in this month’s council elections, raising concerns about the party’s vetting procedures.

Mufti Shah Sadruddin, who believes in the notion of Islamic states, has no known previous links to the Tories, and has been an enthusiastic supporter of Respect MP George Galloway.

The Conservative party in the east London borough has also selected two other candidates who have previously stood for socialist Respect.

London Mayor Boris Johnson has been briefed on the situation and is understood to be concerned the party is being exploited as a vehicle of convenience.

Mr Sadruddin has been using his Facebook page to urge all Muslims to vote for any party that stands the best chance of ousting the borough’s incumbent directly elected mayor, Labour’s Sir Robin Wales.

Anonymous leafelts have been circulating in the borough listing the Muslim candidates people should vote for, regardless of party.

A central theme of Mr Sadruddin’s campaign is his desire to punish Sir Robin for his opposition to the Mega Mosque project, which is also known as the London Markaz.

Sir Robin was opposed to the construction of the Markaz, believing it to be too large. Read on and comment » | Ted Jeory | Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Council Expecting 'Firestorm' Over Islamist Schools 'Plot'

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Teachers and governors in Birmingham have been told to expect a "firestorm" when Ofsted, the schools inspectorate, publishes the findings of its investigations into the alleged "Trojan Horse" plot

Schools in Birmingham at the centre of an alleged Islamist plot have been told to expect a “firestorm” when the results of a series of official inspections are published next month.

BBC Radio 4's Today programme reported that senior officials at Birmingham City Council suggested a report by Ofsted, the schools inspectorate, will focus on claims about the governance and leadership at the schools.

However teachers and governors are said to have been told at a meeting this week that the officials had seen no evidence of the alleged “Trojan Horse” plot.

The disclosure comes after the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) said it had found “concerted efforts” to infiltrate at least six schools in Birmingham. Head teachers also warned that schools across Britain are likely to have been targeted.

The acknowledgement from the professional body followed a series of exposés by The Telegraph which disclosed how alleged plot had put schools under pressure illegally to segregate classrooms and change teaching to reflect radical Islamic beliefs. » | Edward Malnick | Saturday, May 10, 2014

France Unveils Plan to Prevent Radicalisation

GULF TIMES: Hoping to thwart would-be jihadists from following the hundreds of French nationals who have travelled to Syria to fight alongside fundamentalist groups, the French government unveiled yesterday a raft of measures to create an "anti-jihadist" plan.

The plan of action presented by Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve aims to "dissuade, prevent and punish" the radicalisation of troubled French youths.

The government estimates that around 300 French nationals or residents are currently enlisted with jihadist groups in Syria, with a further 130 en route to the country and another 130 having already returned.

Twenty-five French people have died in the conflict.

The movement, which has swept along teens as young as 14 – some of whom are recent converts to Islam – has accelerated in recent months, according to the interior ministry.

Didier Francois, one of the four French journalists who were released from captivity in Syria at the weekend after being held for 10 months by a jihadist group, said some of his captors spoke French.

France is particularly fearful of the threat such people pose to national security upon their return. » | DPA/Paris | Wednesday, April 23, 2014

Up to 700 Britons Feared Fighting in Syria

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Police warn they cannot stop would-be jihadists from leaving the country but will arrest any returning fighters

Up to 700 Britons could now be fighting in Syria and police are powerless to stop would-be jihadists heading there, the UK’s counter-terrorism chief has admitted.

But Helen Ball, the police senior national coordinator for counter-terrorism, warned anyone who takes part in any form of fighting, even for the Free Syrian Army, will face arrest on their return.

Metropolitan Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ball said it was likely the number of Brits in Syria is now in the “mid” rather than “low” hundreds as previously thought, including some as young as 16.

The warning came as police launched a national campaign to urge mothers, wives and sisters to report on their loved ones and stop them travelling to the war[-]torn country. » | Tom Whitehead, Security Editor | Thursday, April 24, 2014

Lee Rigby Murderers Sentenced to Life in Prison

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Michael Adebolajo has been sentenced to a "life means life" prison term for the killing of Drummer Lee Rigby while Michael Adebowale was sentenced to life with a minimum of 45 years

The Islamist killers of Drummer Lee Rigby erupted into violence in an Old Bailey courtroom as they were sentenced for murder.

Michael Adebolajo, 29, and Michael Adebowale, 22, had to be manhandled out of court by security guards after being told by Mr Justice Sweeney that their crime was a "betrayal of Islam".

Michael Adebowale stood up and shouted: "I swear by Allah that America and Britain will never have any safety. Allah Akbar."

His co-defendant, Michael Adebolajo, also stood up and began shouting before eight dock officers grabbed both killers and wrestled them to the floor.

Relatives of Drummer Rigby, sitting just feet away, stood up and cowered away from the violence.

Adebolajo was manhandled down the stairs in the historic Court No 2 but, in scenes lasting several minutes, his co-defendant was held to the floor and cuffed before being carried downstairs head first.

Drummer Rigby's widow Rebecca was left sobbing uncontrollably at the scenes.

Mr Justice Sweeney resumed his sentencing to give Adebolajo a whole life tariff, meaning he will die in jail.

Adebowale was given life with a minimum term of 45 years. The pair had reacted to the judge's comments that after they became extremists they began "espousing a cause and views which ... are a betrayal of Islam".

Adebowale called out "That's a lie" and "It's not a betrayal of Islam, you don't know what Islam is" as the struggle erupted in the dock. » | David Barrett and Claire Carter | Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Nigeria: Dozens of Students Shot and Burned Alive in Islamist Attack on School

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Most of the victims appeared to be between 15 and 20 years old and all of them were male

Islamic militants have set fire to a locked dormitory at a school in northern Nigeria, then shot and slit the throats of students who tried to escape through windows during a pre-dawn attack Tuesday. At least 58 students were killed, including many who were burned alive.

They "slaughtered them like sheep" with machetes, and gunned down those who ran away, said one teacher, Adamu Garba. » | Wednesday, February 25, 2014

Lee Rigby Murder Trial: Accused 'Hopes to Be Accepted into Paradise as Martyr'

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Michael Adebolajo tells the Old Bailey he "loves" al Qaeda and considers the terrorist group as "brothers"

The Islamist fanatic accused of murdering soldier Lee Rigby told a court he “loves” al Qaeda and considers the terror group "his brothers in Islam”.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, also told the Old Bailey jury that he was a “soldier of Allah” and that he had no regrets over the killing because he was obeying his god.

He said after the case he should be either “ransomed” back to his Mujahideen brothers, freed or killed.

At the start of his defence in chief, Adebolajo sat in the witness box of Court number 2, surrounded by five security guards and just feet from Fusilier Rigby’s family. » | Tom Whitehead, Security Editor | Monday, December 09, 2013

Take 'Extremist Crackpot' Anjem Choudary Seriously As Possibly One of Britain's Most Serious Terrorist Threats, Says Report

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Anjem Choudary has become a serious player on the international Islamist scene and it is time to stop laughing at his ridiculous stunts, says Hope not Hate report

Campaigners have claimed that extremist preacher Anjem Choudray [sic] is being wrongly treated as "a figure of fun" while his banned Islamist movement Al-Muhajiroun acts as ''a conveyor belt to terrorist groups''.

Hope not Hate has published a report alleging that the controversial figure has given justification to terrorist plotters with his outspoken views and that the banned group is ''the single biggest gateway to terrorism in recent British history''.

Mr Choudary said that al-Muhajiroun has been active since the 1990s meaning that a lot of people will have come into contact with the group, but denied any involvement in atrocities.

The Hope Not Hate report said: ''While painted by some in the media as a figure of fun, an extremist crackpot whose often outlandish media stunts are rightly ridiculed, Anjem Choudary has become a serious player on the international Islamist scene. Perhaps it is time to stop laughing at his ridiculous stunts.'' » | News agencies | Monday, November 24, 2013

Islamist Terror Plot to Target UK Foiled

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Police are questioning four suspected Islamist terrorists amid fears they planned to attack public places in the UK armed with guns.

Armed police arrested the men in three separate areas of London in dramatic simultaneous raids last night.

The men are now being questioned on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

The men had been monitored by counter-terrorism police and MI5 for some time and the arrests were part of a pre-planned operation.

A large number of armed officers were deployed because it was feared the men may have had access to weapons, the Daily Telegraph understands.

The men had been under surveillance by police and MI5 for some time. » | Tom Whitehead, Security Editor | Monday, October 14, 2013

Bangladesh's top court has sentenced a senior Islamist opposition leader to death for mass murder during the country's 1971 liberation war against Pakistan.

Abdul Quader Molla, 65, the fourth-highest-ranked leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami party, is the first politician to be found guilty by the country's Supreme Court after it overturned an appeal to acquit him of all charges.

"The court enhanced his life sentence to the death penalty," prosecutor Mohammad Ali said on Tuesday. » | Source: Al Jazeera and agencies | Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Woolwich Outrage: We Are Too Weak to Face Up to the Extremism in Our Midst

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Despite the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby, David Cameron has failed to act against Islamist terrorism

It is less than a month since Drummer Lee Rigby was murdered in Woolwich, yet already the incident feels half-forgotten. In terms of the legal process, all is well. Two men have been charged. There will be a trial. No doubt justice will be done. But I have a sense that the horror felt at the crime is slipping away.

The media, notably the BBC, quickly changed the subject. After a day or two focusing on the crime itself, the reports switched to anxiety about the “Islamophobic backlash”. According to Tell Mamma, an organisation paid large sums by the Government to monitor anti-Muslim acts, “the horrendous events in Woolwich brought it [Islamophobia] to the fore”. Tell Mamma spoke of a “cycle of violence” against Muslims.

Yet the only serious violence was against a British soldier, who was dead. In The Sunday Telegraph, Andrew Gilligan brilliantly exposed the Tell Mamma statistics – most of them referred merely to nasty remarks on the web rather than actual attacks, many were not verified, no reported attack had required medical attention, and so on. Yet the “backlash” argument has sailed on, with people shaking their heads gravely about the need to “reassure” Muslims. Tell Mamma equates “hate inspired by al-Qaeda” with the “thuggery and hate of the EDL [the English Defence League]”. » | Charles Moore | Friday, June 14, 2013
