Too Hard to Swallow? Why Trump's Proposed Tariffs on European Wine Could Crush the EU Wine Industry

Mar 14, 2025 | US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose 200% tariffs on European wine. This comes after the EU retaliated against US duties on European steel and aluminum. As a top wine producer, France is particularly vulnerable to the latest levies.

The world is full of unnecessary suffering and deaths. Let us at least try to understand each other better and minimise the suffering and tragic deaths. One death is one death too many! Ein Tod ist ein Tod zu viel! Können wir es nicht besser machen? / Le monde est rempli de souffrances et de morts inutiles. Essayons au moins de mieux nous comprendre et de minimiser les souffrances et les morts tragiques. Un décès est un décès de trop ! Ne pouvons-nous pas faire mieux que cela ? – © Mark Alexander
