King Pays Tribute to Lady Pamela Hicks

The King has paid tribute to his cousin, Lady Pamela Hicks, who has died aged 97.

Lady Pamela, who served as a lady-in-waiting and bridesmaid to Elizabeth II, died peacefully at her Oxfordshire home on Friday, surrounded by her family.

In a statement, a spokesman for King Charles said he was “greatly saddened” to learn of her death.

They added: “The King and Queen’s thoughts are with Lady Pamela’s family, as they mourn a woman whose warmth, wit and perspicacity always made such an impression, and who will be so dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.”

Announcing her mother’s death on Instagram, Lady Pamela’s daughter, India Hicks, had said: “My mother died peacefully today. » | Victoria Ward | Deputy Royal Editor | Friday, June 5. 2026
