Ukraine Kills Russian Nuclear General in Moscow Scooter Bomb Attack

A senior Russian general in charge of the military’s nuclear and chemical weapons division has been killed in a scooter bomb attack claimed by Ukraine.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was killed along with his assistant when the bomb was detonated remotely as they left an apartment building a few miles south east of the Kremlin early on Tuesday morning.

He’s the most senior Russian officer to be assassinated during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine has taken responsibility for the assassination, according to a Ukrainian security source quoted by both Reuters and AFP news agency. » | Samuel Montgomery | Tuesday, December 17, 2024
