Christian West pays very high price for Muslim immigrants
YAHOO NEWS: Nearly three-quarters of British firms are banning Christmas decorations in the workplace for fear of being sued, research has shown. A new survey found most bosses are scared to put up festive tinsel and Christmas trees because they might offend non-Christian workers. Law firm Peninsula said the workplace was becoming caught up in the "wave" of political correctness.

"Christmas trees and decorations may well be a thing of the past in many workplaces this Christmas as political correctness culture has spread to the workplace," managing director Peter Done said. Xmas Ban! Firms Scared Of Tinsel

It seems pc craziness has run amok in jolly old England/UK as well as in the US. It used to be the atheists who were the most vocal opponents of the holiday, now it's Muslims?

The three Scandinavian countries, with state sponsored churches (Sweden changed this in 2000) have some of the highest percentages of atheists in the world.

Muslims and atheists should be encouraged by this fact--you can't "catch" Christianity by being exposed to Christmas displays or Nativity scenes.

Maybe they should ban trial lawyers from Christmas instead of the decorations.

Heather, banning trial lawyers from Christmas sounds like a great idea!

And yes, as you say, pc has come to the UK - BIG time. Just when I thought people were beginning to see some sense, at last, we get this bad news about the banning of Christmas decorations in 75% of British firms! Disgusting!

Mark,

Are these same firms banning decorations at all other holidays as well? Such as Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, etc?

Life is going to be pretty dull if that's the case.

We have had firms ban "Merry Christmas" here in the states in favor of "Happy Holidays" in the last few years. Many of these same firms had so many complaints/boycotts from customers that they are now using the term "Merry Christmas" this year.

Still new ones are jumping on the "Happy Holidays" bandwagon. Whenever I see a company do this I make my views known to them, politely of course, that I will take my business elsewhere--and I do. Why should anyone patronize a company that takes away your freedom/heritage?

You can't believe what we found out today in the United States, big named members of the United States Democratic Party has held meetings with hamas. i will write more when i find out more.

by the way - when i wrote that Biblical predictions of what shall happen in the future does include the event of every nation will use their military against Israel in the final war on earth, the Dems certainly give validity to this Bible prophecy found in the last chapter of Zechariah.

Mark,

Here's another killjoy determined to destroy the celebration of Christmas--and he's not Muslim:

A rabbi in Seattle made a complaint about the Christmas trees in the airport, threatening to sue and they took them down!!:

"A local rabbi wanted to install an 8-foot menorah and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah wasn’t put up, and gave a two-day deadline to remove the trees."

Hanukkah is a minor celebration for the Jews.

I hope someone will impinge on his celebration of Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah in the same way.

Easter and Christmas are the two holiest days for Christians.

It just goes to show that you don't have to be a Muslim to be a jerk.

A word to the wise for the Rabbi - Christians are one of the few friends the Jews have--but not for long if this type of behavior continues.

For some reason the link didn't work. Here is the complete article:

Airport Christmas trees removed

10:54 AM PST on Sunday, December 10, 2006

By KIM HOLCOMB / KING 5 News

SEA-TAC Airport - All 15 Christmas trees inside the terminal at Sea-Tac have been removed in response to a complaint by a rabbi.

A local rabbi wanted to install an 8-foot menorah and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah wasn’t put up, and gave a two-day deadline to remove the trees.

Sea-Tac public affairs manager Terri-Ann Betancourt said the trees that adorn the Sea-Tac upper and lower levels may not properly represent all cultures.

She said that since this is their busiest time of year and they don't have time to add a fair representation of all cultures, her department decided to take down all of the decorations, review their policies, and decide if they need to make a change for next year.

You know, our focus is on customer service, getting our passengers through the airport, and we thought if we could take the trees down and avoid litigation because we don't want to litigate with this individual, we want to reach some kind of solution," Betancourt said. "But that is going to take some thoughtful discussion and we would like to have time to have that thoughtful discussion."

Until then, no Christmas decor at Sea-Tac.

The same decorations have been put up for at least 10 years, she added.
