BBC: An Italian politician will be given police protection following comments she made about the Islamic veil on television.

The MP, Daniela Santanche, from the right wing National Alliance, said the veil was not required by the Koran.

She was labelled an infidel by an imam appearing on the same programme and there are now fears for her safety.

Daniela Santanche recently published a critical book on living conditions for Muslim women called Woman Denied. Protection for Italy veil row MP

GIVE ME A BREAK. THIS IS MANIFESTLY ABSURD. NO DECENT PERSON IN THE MODERN WORLD APPEARS IN SUCH LUDICROUS COSTUME.

This silly little woman looks as if she's got ears like a bunny rabbit! Poor wretch!

"The Poor wretch" has an agenda. She's out to create a row as pretext to force Shari'a norms on the Italians. Soon there will be a text case in every country, some regions, a few cities, to create a reason to riot, to burn cars, to create havoc...

What will the leadership in Brussels or in national capitals do? I wonder if they'll acquiesce and allow the costume on official ID cards and proclaim that non-Muslim protest and criticism is "hate speech".

Oh yes, Eleanor. She got an agenda alright. So does that damn imam that got himself into such a tizwoz over the wearing of it, too.

Time to get tough with these people. Really tough! But the powers that be won't. They'll cave in, and we will be one step closer to the introduction of Shari'ah in the West.
