Say it isn't so! The Pope apologized for stating the truth. The Pope is moving us one step closer to dhimmitude.

His quote of a long-dead emporer shows that past Europeans understod the nature of Islam better than we do today.

Why did our educational system fail us in explaining the nature of Islam? Multiculturalism is a recent phenomenon, but the great majority of twentieth century-adults, some of whom are highly educated, had no clue about the nature of Islam.

Can anyone give a valid explanation for this lapse?

One reason might well be that when the well-educated people you speak of were educated, Islam was of little consequence. It was a quirky religion in a far off place. The Muslim world hadn't become fabulously wealthy because of oil in those days; so people didn't feel that Islam was a threat to us. As a result, Islam and Muslims were largely ignored.

Further, there were relatively few Muslims living in the West. The West hadn't yet been overwhelmed. So again, there was no reason to worry about them.

Add to this, people's general ignorance of history, and indifference toward religion, and you get what we have today: TOTAL IGNORANCE of the true nature of Islam!

You know, the world is witnessing some amazing events. Islamist head of State, Iran's Ahmadinejad, calls for Islamic leaders to envision a world without the Zionists and America. Islamists are attacking worldwide with terror. Worldwide. The Pope voices historical comments and facts, and the Islamic world has a hissy fit. Get ready for more folks. IT IS COMING. Hatred is growing.

But wait a moment... what exactly has the Pope said in his apology?

This is the report I read:

"The Holy Father is very sorry that some passages of his speech may have sounded offensive to the sensibilities of Muslim believers," said Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone in a statement.
Telegraph

Isn't it true that we are all very sorry this is the case? It is a very sad state of affairs that Muslims react as they do - something to be quite sorry about, wouldn't you say? How much happier we would be if they were a rational people with a love of objective truth! I personally am very sorry too.

[The] pontiff confirmed "his respect and esteem for those who profess the Islamic faith" and hoped his words would be understood "in their true sense".

As a Christian he is committed to loving his enemies, and he is confirming his Christianity. He is not speaking of respect and esteem for Islam, but for people - "those who profess". And yes, surely we would all hope that his words would be understood in their true sense - in the truth of established facts!

The academic speech was meant as a "a clear and radical rejection of religiously motivated violence, wherever it comes from", said the statement

Very good! What is wrong with stating that? Don't you all agree with it?

The pope's support for inter-religious dialogue and harmony is "unequivocal," it said.

And in these dialogues he will surely continue to point out the necessity of full reciprocity just as he has done before.

Now please show me where Pope Benedict has actually recanted the truth of his statement?
I have not seen that yet. Have you?

Pope Benedict is no fool, and he is a strong character, a disciplanarian. Do not give up on him, please.

Breaking News from www.timesonline.co.uk:

Leaders across the Muslim world demanded Pope Benedict XVI apologise for his remarks on Islam and jihad, but the Vatican stopped short of doing so, saying instead the pontiff "sincerely regrets" that Muslims were offended.

NB. The Vatican stopped short of apologizing!

Hatred IS growing. Indeed it is growing.

Bubba's Pravda:

When are people going to realize the issue is bigger than they want to admit. The Islamic Movement is not about a separate state for the Palestinian people. The Islamic Movement is about domination. Google the word "dhimmi" and "jizyah". You will begin to understand. Jerusalem and all of Israel has no place in the Islamic world view. They are occupiers. Interlopers.

How true are your words. There is no compromising with Muslims. It's their way, or no way!

50,000 Muslims in attendance at the Islamic Movement's 11th Annual Rally. It is one obscure Islamic rally. A key speaker states that Jerusalem will be the center of the coming Islamic Caliphate. I find it amusing that people across the world see and hear the Islamist people of the world reacting to various events with immense fervour. Many times with outright death and mayhem threats to the non-muslim world. Liberals say that the West should abandon Israel and all will be well. Really? Liberals say that extremists in the Islamic world are small in number. Really? Liberals claim that extremist Islamists are no real threat. Hmmm? Box Cutters and a vision proved this theory wrong. Imagine Ahmadinejad with nuclear weapons. Peace and Justice Mr. Ahmadinejad?

Muslims are not interested in peace and justice. What Muslims are interested in is domination (as you say), world domination, too!

These views, hopes, and aspirations are shared throughout the entire Islamic world. If you doubt, research the mindset of "Joe Islamist". It is there for you to see. As a worldwide community, they are very open regarding their beliefs and desires. When confronted on blogs or in conversation, Islamists will obfuscate immediately. Remember the Wizard of Oz scene, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"? Look up the term, al-Taqiyya.

I think people are beginning to wake up slowly. But they are taking a hell of a long to to do it. The big question is: Will enough people wake up in time to avert disaster?

The west is being conquered slowly. We are subjecting out of ignorance and fear. Read the following articles: Religion News Blog describes five year old UK girl's passport photo being banned because it might offend Muslims, Daniel Pipes descibes the Islamification of Europe, NPR has no clue what we are up against, and Ijtihad article by Dr. Muqtedar Khan regarding religion, life and politics are irrevocably intertwined.

This is the problem. The West is being conquered, though not so slowly!, and Western politicians are not determined enough for, and have still less stomach for, the BIG fight!

Remember: Peace can only follow Victory.

Exactly!

Even in today's 'apology', I think that the Pope has been rather clever. He has not retracted his original statement.
