Anti-dhimmitude in Britain and a kick in the teeth for Cherie Blair

Cherie Blair's defence of Shabina Begum's 'right' to wear her jilbab to school is in tatters. The Law Lords have overturned the court ruling last year which had been in her favour.

It is a disgrace that taxpayers' money should be wasted on such frivolous cases in courts which are already chock-full with more important issues. This from The Times today:

The Law Lords today overturned a court ruling that a teenager's human rights were violated when she was banned from wearing full-length Islamic dress at school.

In a ruling which many teachers will see as reaffirming the authority of schools and headteachers, the House of Lords allowed an appeal by Denbigh High School in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Lord Bingham said the school was fully justified in acting as it did when it sent Shabina Begum, then 14, home for refusing to adhere to the school uniform policy.

You've used some colourful language there, my friend! Please cool it a little.

I agree with you. Blair has really done Britain down. I can think of no worse prime minister in living memory! As you say, Mrs. Thatcher was almost 'holy' in comparison!

What amazes me is how even the long-suffering Brits put up with it all.

Blair is out to destroy the fabric of British society. And people are just lying down and playing dead. That's the sad part!

Have you heard the latest? Blair wants to turn Britain into the 'Islam-friendliest economy' in Europe! What do you think about that?

Mark, I was trying to be more direct, but perhaps I should go back to being obscure, then I won't upset so easily.

Don't take things so tragically! I am not upset at all. I just worry about my visitors. But let's not get too uptight about these things.

Your sentiments are right on the button. We've got ourselves into a mess with this PM. And as for those figures his wife earns from legal aid. Well! What can anyone say? Socialists they are NOT! CHAMPAGNE SOCIALISTS more like!

These people need to go out and EARN a living for a change. As things are, they're living off the fat of the land!

If the worst happens and the west falls to Islamic barbarians it will be the pathetic western appeasers and apologists of Islam who are most to blame. The BBC, the Cherie Blairs, the Prince Charles, the "Red Ken" Livingstones, the Hillary Clintons etc etc. God help us.

That's exactly it! The BBC & Co have a hell of a lot to answer for. The BBC, in particular, has been pushing the Muslim cause for a hell of a long time now. Not only are they appeasers, but they come over as traitors to our cause, too!

As you say: "God help us"!

The authorities are struggling to maintain a watch on all their activities, by their own admission. I saw a Goverment spokseman telling us that "we must expect to be fighting against the jihadi threat for the next 50 years," ..so what happens after 50 years then?

Yes, they are. Anyway, where's the manpower and the money going to come from to police all of this anti-Western activity?

Fifty years? And the rest! Who is he trying to kid?

By the way, Bld: You're ALWAYS welcome on my weblog! You have such a lot to offer; and so many insights. :-)

I agree it was a waste of money.

How much cheaper for Britain if they had paid attention to Anglo-Saxon style individual rights -- letting all people modestly express their faith. Instead, the school and Law Lords chose to privilege certain Muslim perspectives over others, and secular perspectives over those.

Too bad.

I have tried to delete your second comment, as requested, but I find myself unable to do so. This is another glitch in the system. (Please see my latest blog.)

Don't worry about it. It won't harm for us all to read it twice.

Words also have wings, I have discovered.
I just wish I could trype beter.

Words certainly do have wings. They liberate one, just as does flight.

As for typing better: Practise makes perfect! Or, as they say in German: Übung macht den Meister!

"C'mon, 'aven't yous lot got an 'ome to go to?"

That will turn into 'C'mon, aven't yous lot got a mosque to go to?', if Islam gets too strong. And that will be after drinking SWEET mint tea!

Our own leaders will do it for them! First the ciggies, and then beer?

Yes the coming ban on smoking in all public places doesn't augur well for alcohol either. Have you noticed that we are entering a new Puritanical phase? All fun is out; piety - usually false - is in!

This Prime Minister has done so much damage to Britian in just a few short years. It's time he was given a slight push to resign into obscurity, where, indeed, he belongs.
