“We rightly expect our brave armed forces to protect British citizens around the world in crises like this, but that includes tax exiles like Isabel Oakeshott," the Liberal Democrat Leader said when speaking about British nationals living in the Middle East.
Oakeshott, who lives in the United Arab Emirates, told the BBC's Politics Live “his intervention was both really strange and really ignorant."
"I pay tax on property, you pay tax on fixed assets, you also continue to pay tax on your UK earnings," she said.
