May 30, 2024 | Recent data has shown one in four cigarettes purchased in Australia are of black market origins. Illegal tobacco has robbed taxpayers billions of dollars and sparked a gang war to seize control of the trade.

Politicians across the world are not always the brightest of people! The more they push up the price of cigarettes, the more illegal cigarettes will be smoked as citizens try to circumvent the punitive taxes placed on cigarettes and tobacco products. They will also create greater health issues for citizens, because the authorities cannot control the quality of the cigarettes or tobacco products being sold on the black market.
