Alan Cumming on LGBTQ+ in the Arts, Safety in the US and Traitors Fame

Nov 13, 2025 | From Hollywood to the Highlands — actor, activist and US traitor’s presenter Alan Cumming is returning to his roots in Scotland.

He’s taking over as Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, promising to turn the small Highland town into a global stage.

Cumming spoke to us about his plans there and his fears over LGBTQ+ rights in America.
